A comfortable shoe that's becoming extinct

Clarks Men's Falcon has been around for years, but it appears that the Company, in it's questionable wisdom, may be discontinuing the line. It is very tough to find a retailer with Falcons in the size and width you need. This is very unfortunate as the Falcon is comfortable, durable, and "smart" looking. I became a fan of these shoes the moment I stepped into them - they require no breaking in period. You put 'em on and you feel like you've been wearing them for years. They are suitable for every day wear in less-than-business-suit-required work environments. The Falcon comes in brown and black suede with a leather upper portion around the side and back of the shoe. Many newer Clark's seem to be crafted with ugly thick soles, and an upturned front. A water-proofing spray can be applied to the Falcon without marring or significantly darkening its appearance. If you can find a pair of these shoes, I recommend applying the water proofing - it'll add months of wear.

My second pair ordered within 2 weeks. Unfortunately for me size 9W, was no longer available as it was a week earlier. But, at $29.95 and free shipping, I settled for a pair of 9M and took out my professional shoe stretcher with a bit of relaxing liquid and now they are 9W and fit just fine. Its all about timing and size availability on a close out though. For those lucky enough to find a pair of Clarks Falcons in a size you can use,now they are marked down to $19.95....damn! But, you still need the $25.00 to qualify for the free shipping. Oh well, its a great shoe that Clarks should not have discontinued.

Clarks Men's Falcon Oxford I've worn this same shoe model for more than a decade and I'm really sorry to learn that it is being discontinued. I do hope that the manufacturer will reconsider. This latest purchase is my third pair. They are so comfortable right from the point of putting them on for the first time. They don't have to be broken in. I like the style and have had compliments on their appearance.
