  • The Best Bottle Warmer EVER!!

    By A1OB9SC77YM28L on 2007-10-20
This bottle warmer is the perfect fit for our needs. It warms a bottle from room temperature in literally about 1 minute from power on. It has specific settings for warming up from room temperature, refrigerated, and frozen. And it is smart enough to know how long it needs to warm based on the amount of liquid in the bottle.

It also is very small and portable. It is small enough to easily fit on the counter in a little space. Also, it only uses 1 ounce (a shot) of water to run the warming process.

This warmer is much more convenient and FASTER than having to heat water either on the stove or in the microwave. Don't waste your time with that nonsense and use this product. You will not regret the expense.

This product also warms baby food, but as my daughter is just 5 weeks old, we have not used that feature yet.

    I HIGHLY recommend this product!!

  • Not best option if you use Dr. Browns bottle

    By AM7FDRM0L2YCX on 2008-03-29
I bought this warmer with high expectations based upon available reviews, but we did not have the best experience so far.

Since we are using Dr. Brown's feeding bottle, the warmer does not heat it to the right temperature when following the instructions. Thus we end up heating the bottle twice every time.

I experimented with the Avent bottle that came with the warmer to heat the milk, and it seems the warmer worked okay. So apparently the warmer was not designed for bottles of other brands.

One more thing that I found is that the warmer is not so "smart" and does not keep checking the bottle temperature during heating, which was what I expected with the higher price we paid. Personally i feel it's just a simple steamer.

Think twice before you buy if you want to use feeding bottles of other brands.

  • Almost perfect...

    By A2EPBFP31K1F7O on 2007-12-20
This warmer is almost perfect for our needs. I can't complain too much as it is definitely a much better warmer than the other Avent warmer. Having used both, I'm far happier with this one and can honestly say it's a really good warmer.

However, I haven't had the same experience as the previous reviewer. First, the warmer definitely takes more than one ounce of water to heat bottles - the directions have me using about four ounces. This is not really an issue, except when you're traveling and have to keep refilling and repacking the warmer. Stay home and it won't ever bother you! Second, it only warms a 2 ounce room temperature bottle in one minute. To warm a standard 4 ounce bottle of refrigerated breastmilk it takes about three minutes.

Three minutes would be perfectly reasonable if only my one-month-old twins would patiently wait for their meal. The little ones definitely do not understand that their food takes a while to heat up. It's tough to decide which baby gets to eat while the other one is still waiting for their food to heat up!

Additionally, I've noticed that if it's been a while since I've warmed a bottle it doesn't heat quite as well (as most of the energy seems to wind up being used to heat the water). Then, the second bottle will come out too hot and have to sit a moment before it can be used. I just heat the first bottle as a larger amount of food (programming it for 5 oz when the bottle is only 4) and then doing the opposite for the second bottle. But this would only be an issue if you were heating two bottles each time and most folks wouldn't even notice it. However, if you are going to use it for two bottles, I like to heat one bottle up and then if the other baby isn't quite ready to eat I just set the second bottle in the already hot water and let it warm up that way (it takes just a few minutes).

All in all, a great warmer if not perfect.

  • Junk

    By A38AV5VIKP3UEB on 2008-02-11
First one purchased from Amazon was defective right out of the box (and yes, we read the instructions). The problem was that neither of the buttons worked on the front panel. So, Amazon sends us a second one and we return the first. The second one worked for about 5 days (and when it worked it was quite nice), then the front two buttons stopped working. So, Amazon sends us a third and we return the second. The third one was also defective right out of the box (same problem as the other two).

I called Amazon to tell them the problem, but they suggested I call Phillips. So, I call Phillips and tell them what happened. Big mistake, they could have cared less. Said "must have come from a bad batch". We're done with this bottle warmer and with Phillips, will try the one from The First Years.

  • works well if you ignore the instructions

    By A1I0BGTDVJ159G on 2008-04-12
like others have said, the key to success with this warmer is to set the volume to be 1 oz more than you are actually reheating (i.e., if reheating 2 oz, set it to 3 oz) and to add a little extra water. Once you do this the warmer works consistently well. It also looks kind of cool and is definitely safer and easier than reheating on the stove, especially if you have other young children around...

  • I love this warmer.
    By A2B50JCVNUGQJA on 2008-02-06
I bought this and have not been disappointed. The warmer is sitting on my bed stand and can be easily operated during the night "zombie night" feeds. My Dr Brown bottles are stored in an insulated bag next to the bed and when it's time to feed... bam. I have the convenience of warming up the bottles within arms length. I'd highly recommend it to any new parents. A bit pricey, but a sleep saver.

The only bad thing: I just hate emptying and refilling the warmer with water to compensate the water to bottle ratio. Other than that, it's a must have.

  • Good Utility but pricy.
    By AW0SJULRSAGDQ on 2008-02-18
    The salient points are -

1.) This is a product of good utility as it is automatic.
2.) It checks for input temperature and the MAGIC lies in that you just set the options and leave, before the appliance tells you that the job is done.
3.) You can use the options intelligently to adjust the final temperature you want. For e.g. If you want it warmer, just set the volume of the fluid setting higher than the actual amount so the warmer heats a little more. This feature is especially useful to warm different kinds of foods at different temperatures.
4.) There is still one thing that needs to be done almost every time, which is to fill the warmer with water according the quantity of food be heated. 30ml water per oz of food. This is because the food is steam heated.
5.) It is pricy at 59. Ideally it is worth only 30 but still a good utility product.

  • Great warmer for the home
    By A2DAXX4GUMS8TL on 2007-12-28
I've used this now for several weeks and have no complaints. It is much better than a bowl of hot water which is what I had been using. Only had it get to hot if I put that there was more milk in the bottle than there was...

  • excellent bottle warmer
    By AI83F7U5RKBMB on 2008-01-17
I have two bottle warmers from Avent, this one and the "Express Baby Food and Bottle Warmer." The IQ warmer is far superior. You can quickly program it for a bottle that contains milk at room temperature, or that's been refrigerated or frozen, and then program the number of ounces that you're warming. The result is milk that is at a good temperature every time. We use glass bottles and those work just fine. We have 3 month old twins, so the warmer gets a lot of use, and while it seems to take an eternity when the babies are wailing for their food, it only takes about 5 mins to warm 6 ounces.

The Express warmer doesn't have any of the programming features, so you end up just guessing when the milk is warmed enough, and it's very easy to overheat the milk. I always check it on my wrist anyway, but I sometimes worry that at 3am when my mind is in a fog I might let it get too hot. I have much more peace of mind with the IQ.

  • Leaves something to be desired
    By A3LSG0VR7FEBR5 on 2008-01-20
This bottle warmer leaves something to be desired. It almost always takes a second time in the warmer to heat the bottle up enough. I have not used it yet for baby food or for a frozen bottle but heating a bottle up from refrigerator temp has has not been as flawless as I was hoping when I ordered this product, especially for the price that you pay for this warmer.

  • Nice idea/design, but doesn't actually warm bottles!!!
    By A2Y3CC95T33QWS on 2008-04-12
At first, when I got it, I thought it did a great job...but within weeks, I found it was very inconsistent with warming the bottles. Now 4 weeks later, it rarely warms a bottle if you follow the directions exactly (1oz of water and the actual volume of milk programmed). I usually put in more water and set it to a higher volume in an attempt to get warmed milk, but I still have yet to find the right combination. When I take the bottle out, the bottle itself is like scalding hot, but the milk inside is still cold! Also, I have born free bottles so I don't know if that makes a difference - but it really doesn't work well. I can't compare to other bottle warmers bc this is the only one I have used...maybe they are all inconsistent.

  • Avent IQ Bottle Warmer....Super Item!!!
    By AMTFMGVMB7OKM on 2008-02-08
I love it. I had actually purchased a different bottle warmer first, and wasn't satisfied with it because it was very inconsistent (water amount vs milk amount was almost always inconsistent with the warming process). The Avent IQ Warmer is GREAT! I have had it for about 1.5 months now and it has performed 100%. In response to a previous review, there is nothing wrong or elementary about the pictures being used as indicators, it makes it fun.

  • Perfect warmer
    By A3SJZMEGDESDSB on 2008-03-15
This warmer can do anything. It's easy to use, and it's great for frozen to room temp items including food. I've had it for about a week and just love it.

  • worth the investment
    By AYJRIJU4LZ80S on 2008-04-21
As parents of a newborn who gets hungry and cries very suddenly when he's hungry, we recommend this bottle warmer. We have used the 4 oz and 9 oz Avent bottles and the 8 oz Born Free (plastic) bottles successfully in the warmer. There is a top flap that opens and does not close tightly when using Avent 11 oz or the Born Free 9 oz bottles. This makes the time estimates a little off. We've learned to adapt by adding an ounce or two to the size selection feature.

The button selections are a little annoying to get used to. Avent uses as few buttons as possible for multiple functions by holding it down or pressing quickly. This can be annoying in the middle of the night, but once you're used to it, it's not so bad.

Before using this, we were warming bottles from the fridge using a container of hot tap water. This is so much faster and makes our baby so much happier. It is much easier to feed him when he hasn't worked himself up while waiting too long for a bottle.

Amazon's price was $15 lower than the popular baby stores in our area.

  • Very poor item
    By A8KDZG0FZ5RZ on 2008-06-03
The warmer worked well on the very 1st use and got worse and worse, by the end of the day it was already not working at all. A piece of junk.
My husband bought it and I thought he had paid about $30 for it. Later, I realized he paid $69 at Bigelow's Chemist and was highly recommended by the salesman there. It is really a piece of junk for that amount of money. Unfortunately, I threw out the box and cannot return it.
Contrary to the name, this product has no IQ. Don't buy it.

  • Could be better.
    By A1VF4PLJ223LV2 on 2008-06-21
This bottle warmer doesn't do a great job. But it does get the milk close to the temperature I want so it isn't horrible. I would expect it to do much better considering how much it is. I like that it has auto-off, so if I am too busy and forget to turn it off it is no big deal. It fits all kinds of bottles. I have even warmed my medula breast milk bags in it and it worked fine. Its faster than putting it under some water in the sink! If I had it to do over again I wouldn't buy it. I would get one of the cheap ones.

  • Laziness
    By ABL5S55DWU5VC on 2008-04-10
The real value of this product is at 4am when your baby is screaming and you're really tired - this product avoids your doing anything except pressing a couple of buttons and waiting 2 minutes... In terms of energy savings in the first few months, well worth the money.

  • Undependable and frustrating to use
    By A1GTQE0DW34RNW on 2008-06-27
I was optimistic when I purchased this bottle warmer. At first, it seemed frustrating to use, but I kept trying. The buttons on the front took some time to figure out - not user friendly enough where you could have someone use the warmer without instructions, which I found absurd for a seemingly simple appliance item. Once I read the instructions and learned what the symbols meant, it was equally difficult to get it to work. Once I DID get it to work (be sure to snap close and add the proper amounts of water - this varies depending on the day) the warmer would then just go on the fritz and stop working. I am so aggravated with it, I want to just toss the whole thing and buy a different warmer. Warming baby bottles shouldn't be such a frustrating task when you're in the midst of taking care of your infant and thinking about other more important things. Do yourself a favor and avoid this warmer.

  • Disapointing
    By A2JBJGMSXGKLGY on 2008-09-06
Never mention in the information showed if this product was 110 v or 220 v. Very poor information. Now the product is useless for me
