Pokemon fun for real fans of all ages By A2BHT4WU9V4RNK on 2007-12-08
This game is so awesome! It is our first board game with a DVD, and it is fun, challeging, funny, interesting, and a blast to play. My boys 11, 6, and 5 have played alone and together for hours. They are real pokemon fans, and they finally have a use for thier encyclopedic knowledge of the show. My 5 year old isn't quite able to use the dvd easily, but you don't even need to know how to read to play - yet my 11 year old loves it too. Really, this is the best pokemon item we have ever had - and I think we have them all :)
Exciting Fast Paced Entertaining Game By A3ODO436AI35TX on 2008-01-13
I bought this game on sale and was a little concerned after reading the reviews. My 6 1/2 year old boys LOVE this game. They have been playing it since they woke up today. The games have been averaging 40 minutes with two players. Entertaining fun game for Pokemon lovers. Its less loud than when they play with their pokemon figures or plush toys.
Great buy for Pokemon lovers! By AUVDSKR6PVZFS on 2007-12-24
My son (9) loves Pokemon and this was a great buy for him! If you do not know a lot about Pokemon this game will not be that easy, but it is still fun. My son knows a lot about this game so the trivia in it is a bit easier, but his friend who did not know a lot of the answers still liked playing it too.
The game is very interactive and your child learns trivia and reading while playing. My son likes the game so much, he sometimes plays it alone.
I highly recommend this game if your child likes Pokemon!
Would not recommend this toy to anyone By AWQJN4M5NYTOH on 2008-01-07
Being a grownup and having a 6yr old son made me learn things I never wanted to know to begin with - Pokemon stuff :). So I bought this game hoping it would be a good game to play with him.
1) As with pretty much all pokemon related things, this toy has no education value whatsoever.
2) The DVD that guides you through the game is pretty much endless, but you can't turn off the DVD and come back to the same point - you have to start from scratch and the DVD loses track of all the pokemons that you've acquired. This is very frustrating, but since nobody has 4 hours at a time, it would have been nice to be able to pick up where you've left off. This does not seem to be an option, unless you 'pause' the DVD player until you get back to the game (hours or days later).
3) The only pro of this game is that you get to spend time with your child and playing this game is still better than them watching pokemon (or other similar pointless) cartoons by themselves. Other than this, I really don't see any value to this game.
Great fun for Pokemon lovers-Glitch Fixed By A1GQDKI0IT20B2 on 2008-08-08
I purchased this game knowing about the problem of its restarting at Team Rocket stops. However, I e-mailed snaptvgames.com customer service describing the problem. I got an immediate response apologizing for the problem, saying it had been addressed and they were sending me the new good DVD. It came in several days and my 7 year old grandson and friends are very happy to now be able to use Team Rocket.
- Pizza & Pokemon
     By on 2007-12-24
Today I had a pokemon and pizza party. 3 of my frends came over for pizza and then we played the Pokemon(tm) Champion Island DVD Board Game. We had a lot of fun playing the game. I am 8 years old and my friends are 6,8,9 years old. This game really puts Pokemon knowledge to good use. My favorite thing is to watch the Pokemon battle in academies. There are 3 academies ; the academy types are Fire,Water, and Grass. If you have it good luck in your quest to beat all 3.
- So much fun I bought 2!

I originally bought this game for my son's friend's birthday (8 years old)and the boys played it non stop for 5 hours before we forced them to go to bed and get some sleep. The next morning they again were begging to play it. Exciting for the kids but not too loud or noisy for the adults. You need a DVD player with a remote to play the game.
- Excellent game for Pokemon lovers

My 7 year old son is a huge pokemon fan. I bought this game hoping to bridge the gap between his love of pokemon and the desire for my wife and I to play games with our son. This game is a huge success. It really tests your knowledge of the Pokemon world. It is scary how much my son actually knows about the details of each pokemon. He regularly beats my wife and I. The game is very well done. So far we have not encountered many duplicate questions.
I would recommend this game to any Pokemon lover. The games enjoyment goes up as your knowledge of Pokemon goes up. This game would not be fun for a child who does not know as much about the individual Pokemon. If you don't know the details, you wind up guessing (and losing in my case).
- Fun game for the Pokemon player
     By A2O2C7C3XLHO2S on 2008-03-20
My son, like most 9yr olds, is a Pokemon addict. I only wish he would learn his math tables, spelling and etc. with such enthusiasm as he knows his Pokemon!
I am able to keep up with him for this game as I have helped him with his Diamond and other games on his DS. So I knew a little bit about each and etc. You are asked questions about the Pokemon and if you do well, you advance and collect Pokemon along the way. If not, back to the PC for you to start over.
There are 3 'badges' to obtain- Grass, Water and Fire so hopefully you have the right Pokemon team to win!
Games avg. about 20min. so I wish it was longer!
- My Son LOVES it - I find it boring...
     By A2PXVMF9DH8NDZ on 2007-12-27
My son, 6 years old, is a HUGE Pokemon fanatic. He collects the cards, has a pokedex, watches the cartoons on TV, etc. He received this game for Christmas, and absolutely LOVES it. My husband and I played it with him and he was literally dancing around the room! My husband and I are not Pokemon fanatics, and we feel that the game is slow and boring. However, it is made for children, and since my 6 year old thinks that it is the best game ever, I would give it 5 stars. But, we had some trouble with the DVD. 3 times, when we selected the "Team Rocket" selection, the game quit and we had to start over. We haven't played it since then, so I don't know if this problem will continue. For this reason I am giving it only 4 stars.
- He loves this!

My 6 year old just got this for his birthday and he loves it! He wants to play with it everyday. My DH plays with him, and now he knows how to do it himself. He just got interested in Pokemon and he's having alot of fun with it!
- DVD keeps returning to start
     By A1JS6V5028JUQT on 2008-06-06
I bought this game after reading all the great reviews on it and when we started playing it, it seemed like a really fun game. Except each time we've tried, it quits in the middle of the game for no apparent reason and goes back to the start. First time I thought it was a glitch, but it kept happening. The first time it was when we made a Team Rocket selection. Not sure what we clicked the next time. But the bottom line is there is a FLAW, and it's frustrating, and my 7 year old now refuses the play the game because it's such a big disappointment when it stops in the middle like that. We have a newer model Sony DVD player, it doesn't have any problem with any other DVDs, so I find it hard to believe that's the problem. And to see the only solution posted on the company's website for crashes is "use another DVD player" is beyond annoying. Like I have a couple extra DVD players just hanging around my house to test this on???? The game should have been tested for quality assurance more thoroughly before it was sold. It's not like I'm using a noname brand DVD player from the 90's here.
- Only one problem w/ GREAT game
     By AA67RIZOKKV3S on 2008-07-10
This game is a lot of fun for little pokemon experts. There are also lots of fun and educational logic and memory problems. I highly recomend it. The only problem is, my copy will, as one person already stated, skip back to the begining and completely restart the game about half of the time we go to the Team Rocket Challenge on the disc. We've overcome this by simply treating all the Team Rocket Challenges as Wild Pokemon squares. (You'll understand that when/if you get the game.) This works out well anyway because the kids like to collect the wild pokemon more than anything else. I expect with all the good reviews that don't mention this problem it's a small percentage of discs that do this. If yours does, exchange it for another one and chances are you'll be good to go. We've had our too long to exchange I think. LOL
- CD Skips :(
     By A2XQOYEZ47I16N on 2008-08-05
My daughter loves Poke'mon and was so excited to get it for Christmas. We started playing it and right away noticed the DVD skipped. It would not finish a sentence every so often. Every time we play it, when we are about half way through, something happens with the DVD and we lose everything. We have to start over. There is no way for the DVD to save your information.
- My 5, 7, 9 year old LOVE this game
     By A3JJ5MHYY8BCJ5 on 2008-08-08
We have had no problems with this game or the DVD. All three of my boys play this game together and have great fun...for as many hours as we let them. It is perfect for the Pokemon addict...which mine are.
Warning though...I purchased mine as "new" directly from Amazon and they sent me a used game that had been re-shrink wrapped. All of the pieces were lose and a couple had been chewed on. The DVD also looked scratched but it played fine. Since it all worked, I have not bothered to return it.
