Headphone Adapter for Apple iPhone Recessed Jack, 3.5mm Male Female Extension Plug - Blackx$0.01
    (85 reviews)
Best Price: $14.95 $0.01
The recessed headphone port on the iPhone prevents many standard 3.5 mm headphone jacks from fitting the device properly. With this headphone adapter, you can be guaranteed that all headphones will work with your device, regardless of the brand.

Does not work; picture shows different product By A2DCUQ1V4UR65Y on 2008-05-01
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2M916DM39KY3H If you order this, you may not get the adapter seen in the picture. The one I got is misdesigned such that it distorts the sound and is effectively useless.
AWESOME! Bridges the gap to my Bose headphones! By A1RQYQO7CLYV54 on 2007-10-22
I am totally frustrated with Apple and their iPhone. After 4 months, their "minijack" is compatible with almost nothing. This adapter came to our rescue! It should be noted that we got the item as pictured both times that we ordered.
Pro:
-Will use to connect my iPhone to my Bose noise-cancelling headphones, something impossible until now
-Good positive contact with both the iPhone and my Bose headphones, won't wiggle loose or break connection
-Clear sound
-Connector doesn't stick out of my iPhone very far, unlike other ones I've seen
-Short cord... not a tangly mess
-Price!
Con:
-Small and black: at risk to be lost
-Since my original purchase and review, one of my connectors, after relatively little use, failed. Glad I have several extras!
Bottom line: Recommended. I bought 5 more of these since my first... one for my Bose headphones, plus some for my wife and a few as spares, with each one working well. I will add a word of caution having had worked in electronics: in my experience, jacks and plugs have a higher defect rate as they as they tend to be made off-shore and in mass quantity. I did a lot of research and believe that this unit will give you not only the best price but also best unit too.
Don't get ripped off, not as pictured. By A2ZGGJ9LTEWFO3 on 2007-12-21
Beware, you will not get the item that is pictured. You will get some sort of iPhone recessed port adapter (kinda like the Belkin one) but not nearly as good as the one in the picture.
I gave mine away. I hope this prevents people from getting ripped off.
The seller even tried to get to recall this negative comment and promised a refund. NEVER RECEIVED A REFUND.
Tells you what kind of seller you're dealing with.
CHEAP & DOES NOT WORK! By A2ABIBCGI17NLY on 2007-11-24
This headphone adapter is cheap and doesn't work! I would give this product NO STARS but I was required to at least give one. When I attached it to my 8GB iPhone the sound was horrible and you have to keep your hand on it (pushing it into the iPhone) to get any sound at all. As soon as I took my hand off the sound disappeared. Honestly, "you get what you pay for." I trashed this adapter a day after buying it and I'm going to try Belkin's or another from a more "reputable" maker.
Doesn't work at all By A3GO89ELZDVJCC on 2008-03-03
I ordered of these from Bargaincell. What arrived doesn't work at all. A regular 3.5" headphone jack does not go deep enough into the female end of the adapter making it unusable. I'm trying to return.
- Bad product
     By A38LBLB04JZY1Y on 2008-02-08
The adapter was cheap enough but broke the first time it was used
Way to brittle for real life the plastic just snapped, making it unusable
- Great if you like music only in your right ear!
     By A3CU5VFKL9CAT3 on 2008-03-09
This device is junk - poor quality and does not work.
This adapter worked with my iphone and my pricey Ultimate Ears headphones for about a week before the left earphone cut out entirely. I was on a 10-hour flight and was able to get it to work on occasion only by firmly applying sideways pressure to the jack. Anytime I let go the left ear cut out again.
To confirm it was the adapter, I stopped at radioshack back in the U.S. and got a Belkin for $10 which works great. I do not like the rigid Belkin model as much in design as this flexible cord, but this thing is useless. It was cheap enough that I will not bother to send it back, but don't waste your time or money.
In addition, I waited over a week for the item to arrive. When I inquired to the company about delivery date, they sent me a standard reply that shipping could take 7-14 days, even though it was stated to be "In-Stock" and I selected standard 5 day shipping.
- Great if you like muffled sound
     By A17K81Q9OQC5LB on 2008-03-11
I purchased this item and it would not work when the headphone was plugged in all the way...the sound was muffled. But it worked fine when the headphone was plugged in 3/4 of the way. Eforcity sent me a replacement at no charge but unfortunately the replacement doesn't work at all.
- works great, is inexpensive
     By A1EMNPNDOF4NZW on 2007-12-13
It does what it needs to do. I wanted to be able to use my iPhone as an iPod in the car and works really well and is unobtrusive with the black car jack. I bought two, just in case I lose one. It works just like it is supposed to. Highly recommend.
- HORRIBLE ITEM!
     By A34YFVHKO0OSG8 on 2008-01-31
This item arrived and did not even work properly! It has a horrible connection and only one of my headphones (left channel to be specific) worked. I instead bought the griffin product which works GREAT. DO NOT BUY THIS IT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY!
- Don't Buy This
     By A3DQHV2CC6N2IS on 2008-02-20
I originally ordered 2 of these, figuring quality might be an issue. I was able to get half audio out of one and none whatsoever out of the other - they were complete junk. The build quality was so bad that it was physically difficult to plug into/out of them. Bargaincell offered to replace them, and today, over a month after I originally placed the order, I received one adapter (which is very notably not the 2 that I paid for). It works, but frankly, I get the strong impression mine was handpicked so that I would lighten up my review from the first 2, which were functionally not even close to this new one. Do not buy this product or from this company.
- Cheap, do not buy, get the Griffin instead
     By A25RNJJ3HG1T4P on 2008-03-24
This cable frayed internally and started cutting out after two uses. Completely cheap, you get what you pay for I guess. I'm getting the Griffin now which looks to be of much better manufacturing quality.
- Iphone Headphone Adapter Works!
     By A30J938NET8LE5 on 2007-12-03
This product allows you to hook up any set of speakers or headphones to an Iphone. If you plug in a normal headphone or speaker jack into an Iphone, it simply won't work because the plug is wrong. Remember, your Iphone not only plays music, but has an additional contact for the microphone that allows you to talk on the phone. This same feature prevents normal jacks from working.
I have tried to use FM transmitters to play the Iphone through the car speakers, but the phone transmits RF noise along with the music to make listening an unpleasant task. This adapter gives crystal clear music through the car speakers without any RF interference. If you get a call, you have to remove the jack...an easy task and well worth it!
- Simple Plug and Play Adapter
     By A23FQIFRG6O33J on 2007-11-02
No hassle, plug and play, simple adapter for iPhone's off market earphones/headphones. Yes you probably can cut and slice your off market headphone connector to fit the iPhone's smaller recessed earphone plug but for couple of bucks why bother? Cost is almost negligible and this item works well. Gives you better flexibility in using all the other headphones you have in your inventory: i.e. a regular audiophile will have more than one I suppose! Headphones.
- Best Adapter By Far
     By A1ESL72LODU6OZ on 2007-11-24
By far the best headphone adapter for the Iphone. Flexible cord make it easy to use and beats the rigid Belkin adapter hands down. If you plan on using standard headphones with your, Iphone, this is a must have.
- Good dapter
     By A2RHJT66B7NR1 on 2008-02-22
Essential adapter for i-Pod touch with Case-mate case. Somewhat flimsy, probably won't take much tugging to break the wires. However, it has worked well so far (2 months). Good $$
- Miswired adapter
     By A2O5JBC2ZJTN7G on 2008-04-28
This iPhone adapter in incorrectly wired from male to female connector and therefore there is no true Left/Right stereo. Yes, sound comes from both earphones but without be the true left and right channels. Same goes for the yooZoo adapter from myGearStore which is an identical product. Poor QA at seller's place.
- iPhone Headphone Extension Adapter
     By A16N9FHL60RAST on 2007-12-07
Great product...very solid and works greats. This is a MUST NEED if you own or are planing to buy an iphone, trust me you will want this. Plus this is the best and most solid one on the market right now.
- Did what I wanted
     By A3H6OAUBJBL25M on 2008-03-14
Got this little Adapter for my iPhone. It works great. But after a month of using it to shovel my driveway, it started to come apart at the Male End. I'm seeing wires exposed and I hadn't even been pulling on it hard. Guess I need to get some electrical tape to fix it. But I have the Griffin adapter on Order and will be glad to have that when I'm mowing the lawn.
- Great Adapter, Raped on Shipping!!!
     By A1AXQ42IITOAQP on 2008-03-20
The Adapter itself is great. I bought 5 and paid a couple dollars each for shipping. They arraived in one small envelope. Talk about sticking it to the customer on shipping...
- You Get What You Pay For
     By A16TSK2J4DX4GI on 2008-04-20
The product works as advertised, but feels cheap (quality wise), the actual plug isn't as snug as the original iPhone headset and unplugs a little too easily.
Other than that it works ok. I noticed that it has three rings around the plug like the iPhone headset so if you have another headset with a mic it should work (although I haven't tried it myself).
- Broke in 1 month
     By AGV4NVIAALP3L on 2008-05-14
I bought his adapter 1 month ago and the wires have ripped apart from the female side. The only way to fix them is to soder it back together but you have to rip the rubber encasing off. Do not buy this
- It does the trick...
     By A3QS5761OZ9C47 on 2008-05-14
Relatively inexpensive and works fine. (Total cost with shipping ended up being about 5 bucks or so when I got it.)
As others have stated the adapter is small and could be easy to lose especially if you don't keep it in one place. I'd recommend getting a couple, which will drop the avg. cost per adapter when you factor in the shipping.
The only semi-con I have about it is that it seems to lose signal power, meaning you have to really turn up the volume on your iPhone. Not a big deal.
Overall it does what it should and gets around the evil iPhone recessed jack.
- iPhone earphone adapter
     By A39ZDYHKJ8FHMM on 2008-05-22
The product is cheap and flimsy. I have bought 2 and they both separated where the wire meets the adapter. Would not buy again!
- Sound quality has flaws
     By A3S2HQK6EK5W48 on 2008-05-31
The adapter is ver useful beacuse it is not rigid like others, but the sound quality is not great. I tried the iphone headphones with and without the adapter and there was a notable diference.
- great little wire
     By A1I4P318VBRG7X on 2008-01-23
I needed this for my Bose QC2s and it just works. haven't had a problem with sound quality, and its got the three rings on the head so you can still plug in the apple headphones if you want. I like it, if it wears out, the price is right to get another one too.
- iphone adapter
     By A1F4CVMEVIYT3U on 2008-01-27
This part was exactly what we needed to be able to play the iphone through the car stereo without the dock due to the iphones recessed jack. Much easier, less mess too!
- Works Great!
     By A19G1SYLP67VSL on 2008-01-27
Adapter works great with the different headphones that I have. Unlike the picture, this adapter actually supports stereo + microphone in case you have a stereo + microphone headset that you want to plug in there. I didn't find this useful since I didn't such a set to test out and if I did, I would get one that was already iPhone compatible.
- Best solution for the problem
     By A8PS6YTA2Y0UX on 2008-01-30
Another bad part of the iphone is regular headphones just don't fit.
This fixes that, and is flexible so it doesn't get screwed up bouncing around in my pocket. A+++, would buy again.
- Perfect for the task
     By A1YL2WPAD8MD41 on 2008-02-13
I purchased this little device based on the price and other positive reviews. I couldn't be more pleased with its performance. It works perfectly with my larger headphones and my iPhone. The only issue, which is obvious but still worth mentioning, is that by using another pair of headphones you do lose the functionality of the iPhone headphones (play/pause, skip, answer calls, etc.) which kind of sucks. But if you hate those earbuds as much as I do, you will love this adapter, no distortion whatsoever.
