Almost right By A1SY9T4FTNR4LO on 2008-03-02
I like this product because:
1. It allows me to tightly secure the band on my arm and I don't get slippage.
2. At the risk of being called a 'wimp' (6 feet 162 lbs), I have no problem with the band being too snug.
3. It is easy to get the player in and out of the holder but it is secure and snug once it is in.
4. I can adjust the volume and select songs on the go.
My issues with the band...
1. The plastic they have used for the outer protective layer of the holder is so thick that the nano usually doesn't respond when you try to use the wheel to control volume. It takes quite a bit of messing with to get it to work. Sometimes I have to remove the iPod to make the wheel respond to my touch. That can be really frustrating and now that I've had the band for a few months, I find it more and more annoying.
2. The metal part of the band that you thread the band through is too narrow. The result is that the velcro catches on the metal and makes it very difficult to thread. Little by little, the velcro is starting to tear off the band because the metal catches the edge every time you put it on. Why couldn't they have used hard plastic with rounded edges instead of a metal piece with sharp edges?
Very well made...but it doesn't fit my arm... By A2QFTJAT1D5PIL on 2007-12-29
The construction on the armband is top notch. The neoprene is comfortable and it is easy to slip your nano in and out, while being quite snug, so you don't have to worry about it slipping out accidentally. The only problem is that it doesn't fit my arm, really. I don't think that my arms are bigger than a normal guys, so I would recommend this product for women, and runners, who are normally pretty slim. If you have average sized arms for a man, it may be extremely snug, or may not fit at all. Kind of wished I would have know there was a size limit before I bought it and opened it, so hopefully this will help those of you who are thinking of purchasing it. That was the only drawback that I could see, but it is a big drawback, it if prevents you from using the product.
Great Product for Jogging and Running By AAG7V5GGLF74B on 2007-12-26
Great Product for Jogging and Running. I have used it to setup mi nike+ accessory. However one drawback is that it doesn't have a slot to put on my nike+ accessory or to connect the USB Cable. I have to use the iPod Nano upsidedown in order to work with the nike plus or to recharge without taking it out of the case.
However, this is a minor problem. I think this is a good product
It has a reflective band around the ipod that reflects light when pointed at. (GREAT)
NANO G# Arm Band By AIYUVH5JDWCO7 on 2007-12-29
Great arm band, but it would be better if the Ipod holder was removable from the band. When I'm switching from arm band to another use it's time consuming to remove the player and then put in another protective case.
Idiotic Design By A1OL5IS52PKOK8 on 2008-07-06
I want some of whatever the Belkin engineers are smoking, because this thing is IDIOTICALLY designed. Belkin owes me $150 bucks to buy a new ipod nano...
...basically, the armband backing is a really porous, stretchy material. So when you go running (like you do with an armband) and sweat, the sweat soaks through the back and onto the ipod. The front is a completely non-porous plastic, so it doesn't let the sweat evaporate out. Consequently, your ipod nano drowns in sweat after running for about 20 minutes; a week of running later, it starts making cracking noises and is completely unresponsive to button presses. Kinda sucks
The apple engineers were able to get this right, but apparently the Belkin guys never tested the product in the field.
Oh, and a key pocket? Really? As if running shorts haven't had those since the 80's?
- Too Small for Men / Perfect for Women
     By A336GSVCD4PONM on 2008-05-06
I bought this for myself - I'm a man with a bicept of approximately 16-inches. That's not that big for a man. Measure your bicept before you buy this band. If your arm is >14 inches - DO NOT BUY!
I've since given it to my wife. It works great for her. Instead I bought a belt clip that works great. The Nano is so light you can really just put it in your pocket. But the belt clip is a much better tool for a man.
Outside of the size, the band is well-made and looks like it would hold snug on an arm say 9-14 inches.
- Good product for those with small arms
     By A2OH37JV8V2CVV on 2008-01-01
For me this armband works great. I let a friend of mine use it and because he has much bigger arms, the band didn't fit.
- too small ...
     By AAEKMUQXN7M17 on 2008-01-17
I also found this armband too small to fit around my bicep. I can stretch it to fit, but it is way too snug... to the point of being uncomfortable. I crosstrain... and I'm not a "Hulk"... not designed well in my opinion.
- works well for me!
     By A3UX8WUYUTG82G on 2008-03-10
Pro's:
+ stays snug on my arm throughout my workout (I know there have been some questions about the fit of it, but it works for me - my arm is not the hugest though)
+ attractive, sporty
+ protects the ipod
Con:
- a little tricky to get the ipod in and out of the armband(which you need to do to sync because the USB is not accessible when the ipod is in the armband)
- the velcro seems to be slightly unglue-ing from the neoprene at the end because that is where my armband gets creased when it's flattened to fit in my bag
Overall I think it's a good product.
- Keep Your Music Handy When You Workout
     By A1HBVFI5G2X1G2 on 2008-04-15
Runners, jumpers, players, and athletes alike can all use an attachment like this. People like music and people like music as they do what they love. This wristband makes it possible to listen to your nano as you are running or doing sports. It lifts you up and gives you energy and momentum to help your play. You don't have to worry about your ipod falling out of your pocket if it's safely strapped to your arm.
- Major usability weaknesses drag down what would be an otherwise high score.
     By A3JCWGHCVC2ZNF on 2008-07-22
I got the Belkin armband when I purchased my iPod Nano 3G a few months ago since I would primarily be using the iPod while walking for exercise. My experience using the armband several times per week over the past 2 months is as follows:
High points:
1. The armband is much more comfortable than the AM/FM radio armband I had been wearing previously; it is easily adjustable and allows a secure fit without being painful/overtight.
2. The armband appears to be well made and of quality materials.
3. The plastic window of the armband protects the iPod from moisture/damage.
4. If I'm walking in my neighborhood, the key pocket is a convenient and secure place to store my house key.
Low points:
1. I have had substantial difficulty changing the volume of the iPod while it was in the armband--I find it nearly impossible. I may get lucky and the volume will change once in 10 times when I try.
2. I have had substantial difficulty in using the scroll button (to move up and down menu lists) while the iPod is in the armband. My understanding is that I was supposed to be able to perform the same operations on the iPod while it's in the armband pocket that I could when it isn't in the armband, but all I've been able to do successfully while it is in the armband is switch to the next song (or back) and turn the iPod off. For everything else, I must unplug the earplugs and pull the iPod out of the armband, perform the necessary operations, put it back in the armband and replug the earplugs; this is TREMENDOUSLY inconvenient while I'm walking.
3. If I am not walking near home (i.e., if I drive to the beach to walk), the armband key holder isn't nearly big enough for my car key.
In summary, the armband is well made and comfortable; if I was just reviewing that alone, I'd probably give it 4 or 5 stars. But the weaknesses in USABILITY of the iPod WHILE it's in the armband are substantial in my opinion and create a real ineffectiveness for me since I am using the iPod/armband combo for exercise (i.e., I don't want to stop once my heart rate is up to unplug the Nano, pull it out of the armband, perform the necessary operations and put it all back together).
Edited on 07/27/08 to add that the velcro on my armband has started to unravel already--the armband is brand new! I suppose it is because I have to pull the first part of the velcro through the fastening loop to get it to be tight enough around my arm to not slip down. Still, it's ridiculous for something to start falling apart within two months when I don't even use it every day.
- Great Quality Product
     By A27BAAXFYQ79LS on 2008-03-26
I have gone through numerous armbands. This has everything you need plus some. It has a protective face yet allows you to easily control the interface. You can use the Nike adapter with it if you turn the Ipod upside down. Finally, the ability to store a few keys in the holder is a nice addition. You can tell the quality of the product by the material used to create it.
- poor craftmenship
     By A1ZNQXVFQEQECK on 2008-04-15
Well the first two days I thought it was great. It fit well ( I am a woman with pretty muscular arms) and filled it's purpose. On the third day the piece of plastic that holds the i-pod to the armband cam unglued and I lost my i-pod to the gravel on my bike ride. While I am glad my i-pod is ok, I can not say enough bad things about an armband that was good for only 2 days.
- Almost
     By A21AWELC4WG94N on 2008-04-17
The band itself is as described and seems to be sturdy, but it's very snug around my upper arm. If your arm is smaller than 16 inches (about 41 cm) in circumference than this will probably work for you.
- Garbage!
     By A1CGBFWAKX82IQ on 2008-06-27
Don't waste your money. In under 1 month of light usage the armband fell apart. The front cover became separated from the armband itself. This thing would not be worth it at half the price.
- Belkin Armband
     By A21C0G0KYD1FKL on 2008-01-01
This armband ia a very useful product , it holds firmly your Ipod and protects it from any harm while you are exercising besides it is so well conceived the music flows perfectly, I highly recomend this product!
- Great Armband
     By A1W1EXSCO5LW2X on 2008-03-28
This product is great. It really holds the ipod in securely and is comfortable to wear. Fit me fine but would be tight for larger arms. I bought 3...gave one to a friend and kept 2 for me.
- Great armband
     By A13W85UQ0KJ0M1 on 2008-04-07
I have been very happy with this armband. I was worried about it staying put while jogging and sweating, but I have never even had to adjust it once after putting it on. I have also not found there to be any moisture accumulation on the back of my iPod which was also a concern.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a basic armband.
- Good armband!
     By A1NELXJ81F6LJR on 2008-01-19
Kinda took a gamble when I bought this one. This is my first armband. I bought Nike+ and wasn't sure if this would work with it. It's actually kinda like the "incase" armband only this was MUCH cheaper when I bought it ($8.99). It has two holes at the bottom (one for the hold switch, one for the headphones) and a full size slot at the top. Simple solution to use Nike+: use the armband upside down so the full size slot where you slide the iPod through is on the bottom. I haven't actually used it yet but was fiddling around with it and the iPod still seems really snug and secure (no chance of falling out through the bottom while running with it).
Also the controls work great! You do have to press a little harder than usual of course!
- Recommended for WOMEN or really small guys
     By A3U2GQ9SOB81L5 on 2008-02-28
Going along with what over reviewers have said, this product is top notch. It's thin and lightweight, comfortable, well-constructed, and the click wheel is still perfectly easy to use under the screen protector. Being as how I'm a normal sized woman, this product is perfect for me, but I can see where it would definitely be too small for a lot of guys or even women who are really ripped.
- I'm hooked
     By A2JD8QMHNC1BAE on 2008-04-14
This is a great graphic tablet for the price! The ease of use and customization features have really opened the door to getting away from my keyboard. The only thing lacking is an "eraser" and a cord/cable to keep the pen with the tablet. This is my first tablet and I'm hooked!
- Perfect For What It's Made For
     By AC7NKWKFP5RJC on 2008-04-21
I bought this wish a little speculation because of the fact that people said when you get sweaty it slides off. Well I found this to be completely untrue and I sweat fairly well. This product is very good quality, has a little pocket for a key as well, if you don't have any pockets this is useful, and the iPod itself fits nice and tight inside its sleeve and the controls are responsive and work fine. Overall I think that I didn't lose any money buying this product and recommend it to all.
- Sport armband
     By A3AZ9LSCCUKQ88 on 2008-05-13
It's a very useful accesory for doing sports listening music with the Ipod nano. Excellent product, I really recomend it.
- Great product
     By A1O5V8N3Q8X9R9 on 2008-05-18
Great product! I don't go to the gym without it. Material is also very comfortable, you can barely tell you have it on.
- Conveniant
     By A1AGIC41JHQ72T on 2008-05-18
This is an easy way to use your ipod hands-free while walking, hiking, running, etc. Well contstructed and fits your Nano perfectly.
- Strongly Recommended
     By A2TUZMACQWUIWB on 2008-05-21
I have already had others armband for other iPod models. But since they are very similar I can say this is the best I've ever had!
The neoprene makes it confortable and the velcro, easy to adjust.
It doesn't blurs easily when you sweat.
And the plastic skin is thinner then other models I had, what make the navigation less difficult.
- Great armband for Ipod nano
     By A16LA7GL71LG5D on 2008-05-22
This armband is very light and comfortable to wear, and it's very good looking too. It fits the Ipod nano perfectly.
- Bigger Arms? Then DON'T buy!
     By A2I5DNFKKTC0LC on 2008-05-22
If you are anyone with above average sized arms then don't order this product. I just returned mine because it would not fit at all and I have medium sized biceps for an active guy.
- Dont waste your money.
     By A1LZ466XGZA19D on 2008-07-09
This armband looks nice but was way too small for my arms. I ended up stitching on a 4" piece of velcro to get it to close up properly. And because the material does not stretch at all, its either too loose or too tight. And dont even think about wearing this to the gym. It's only "good" for running. I read the reviews on here but chose to ignore them. Now I wish I didnt.
- if you sweat don't buy
     By A35S8IIFW72XLL on 2008-08-05
I bought this item 2 months ago and granted... I work out a lot, but in two months the velcro has completely fallen off and the arm band is now useless. yes yes, I know... what do I expect for $12! But wait... it doesn't end here... when you sweat with this thing on your arm, it basically turns into a humidifier for your iPod. Yes, it provides excellent humidity for your expensive little device, oh wait, we don't want our iPods to be stored in humid places! Yikes! All humor aside, I am now seeking a replacement for this - if only speck would make one of those plastic cases that snap into an armband for the iPod nano 3G - now that was an excellent arm band.
