Belkin Leather Folio Case for iPod touch 1G (Black/Chocolate) Reviews

• Synergy of form and function!

  After much searching for a case for my iPod touch (and repeated visits to various Apple stores in the area), I settled on the Belkin Folio. But I definitely didn't settle! It's highly stylish with beveled hexagons on the front, a soft cowhide interior, and a subtle black & brown color scheme. But it's also fully functional: it securely protects the iTouch with its folio fold velcroed in place; when open, my iTouch stays securely in place (maybe this will change over time?); and I still have full access to all ports and buttons on top and bottom. With this case I'm more than proud to carry around and show off my iPod (which is quickly becoming my full PDA!).
  
  

• Good leather, but not so functional

  Two things good about this case.
  1. Fine quality leather and stitching work.
  
  2. It will better protect your ipod touch when you drop it. (I've dropped it before I purchased this case several times, I'm impressed how well ipod touch is constructed to indure those drops...)
  
  
  Now the bads and the wish lists.
  1. ipod Buttons are not so accessible due to the case's construction.
  
  2. The leather is thick on the edge of the front screen. To me this is the worst drawback of this case. This should have been as thin as possible since it's hard to reach to the edge of the touch screen. The new ipod 2.0 software and available downloadable softwares uses edge of the screen quite a lot.
  
  3. Should have some kind of anker or hook to wrap around the earphone. I'm wrapping it around left edge of the front screen now as an alternative.
  
  4. Some optional belt clip would have been nice.
  
  5. Wasted front cover inside. Should have a pocket there to put in, such as microfiber cleaning cloth or a couple of business card.
  
  I guess... fine material, but they could have given just a bit more of thoughts on the organics...

  I just got the Belkin Folio for my Ipod Touch. It's a perfect fit. All buttons are accessible, although the center button is a little obstructed. I like the fact that it's got the flap to protect the Ipod's screen, so I can just drop it in my laptop bag or pocket when traveling. It also comes with a procective screen that you can put on the Ipod, but I still have the Mfr protective film on mine. The only dislike I have about this is the Velcro. Makes it feel cheap. A magnetic button would have been nice. Other than that, I do reccomend this.

  PROS:Protects your ipod very well. Also you don't have to take it off to charge.
  
  CONS:some buttons around the edges of the screen cutout are hard to touch due to the exact fit. it uses Velcro to close which will no doubt deteriorate. susceptible to moisture, bloats when it comes in contact with water or damp weather. This however could be fixed by covering it with a cloth then taking an iron and going over it till the moisture evaporates

  Well made, looks great. I'm very pleased with it. Now I can have my iTouch out of the box it came in!
  
  Worth the $. I just hope whoever sewed it together made more than 25 cents an hour.
  
  The $3.00 display box it came in is a waste. I'd rather have simple cardboard and save $2.50. But I suppose packaging industry people have to make a living too...at least use the display box for retail only.
  
  If you have an iTouch, you won't be sorry you have this case. IMHO.
  
  
• Attractive and sturdy product

  The Folio is attractive and well-built. The Folio comes with a screen protector although you can get better screen protectors that also cover the easily scratchable rear cover.
  
  The color scheme and design on the Folio is interesting and unique. My only complaint is the headphone jack is partially obscured by the Folio's retention cloth (perhaps the tolerance is a bit off on the one I got), but this really does not cause any issue.I gladly recommend this product.

  This is a great, classy-looking case for the ipod touch. I really love the way it snuggly cradles my ipod, while still providing complete view/access to the touch screen and home button.

• Protects ipod very well!!!

  This cover is the best thing you can have for your ipod. Its very thin so you can really fit it in your pocket and it still keeps that thin look of the ipod touch. It comes with a cover film for your screen so your ipod will basically be protected everywhere. Make sure that your ipod surface is very clean before putting in the film. Once you put the film once you cannot take it out if you do you will loose it. The only thing that I would do better on this cover is use something else instead of velcro for that little handle. Everything else is perfect.

• Good, but not perfect

  The case I got was in excellent condition. The only problem with it is that the iPod tends to slide to the left out of the case. Not a problem when it's closed, so the iPod is still protected, but when you're using it you're constantly having to push the iPod back to the right into the proper position to see the screen.
  
  The problem is only exagerated when you're watching video because then you have gravity working against you too because the iPod is sidways. I love the case and this is the only issue I've had with it in my month of ownership.

  I got this case for my 8gb ipod touch and it is spectacular. It has great designs, it is real leather, and it protects the whole ipod while letting you use all the features. It is a perfect fit and as an added bonus it comes with a screen protecter! Another great product from Belkin.

  The case is well made and stylish, gives excellent protection.
  The one drawback is that it does not allow the iPod to fit onto our Sony docking unit.

  This case nicely protects my ipod touch & yet is attractive and compact.
  Still allows easy access to all controls, etc. Perfect if you want to put in your purse or a bag without worrying about damage.
  I would recommend this my 14 year old daughter has one & I also got one for my Ipod nano.

  I like the product well enough. It is well made. But I would have liked just a little more room. Someplace to store the ear buds when they are not in use would have been nice. Maybe I should have gotten a different cast. But overall the case is nice.

  This product got here way before the estimated delivery date and was a genuine Belkin Leather Folio, no cheap imitation. The product itself is great and something you wont end up throwing away after a few weeks. Also, it does a good job of protecting your iPod. Just to sum it up, dont hesitate. Buy it.

• Good case and good looking

  title says it all, very trendy case. the velcro wears out and doesn't stick fully within about a week but it stays closed. also the case tends to loosten up andnot hold the ipod tightly but it still serves as a classy looking way to protect device from all the bumps and bruses associated with ipod use.

  I bought this case about a month ago and I couldn't be happier. It is constructed well and looks attractive too! It does add a small amount of bulk, but it is still very slim and fits easily in my pocket. For me, the added space is totally worth it because I am not going to ruin the screen of my Ipod! • Worth the purchase to protect the screen

  I often carry lots of other stuff in my pocket along with my iPod Touch, plenty of which could probably hurt the face of the touch. So, my main reason for wanting the case is to protect the front. The case is perfect for that.
  
  It adds a little bulk, but that's unavoidable. I don't think it needs the velcro strap which adds a little more bulk. The cover stays closed pretty well on it's own. Especially when it's in a pocket. I'll probably end up removing the strap with a knife myself.
  
  The cover design and brown edging are a little flashy for my taste. I would prefer a plain black options, but it's not too bad. Plus, I don't really see it most of the time.
  
  There is one minor design flaw with the case. The straps on the bottom that hold the Touch in the case tend to cover the headphone jack completely and the data cable jack partially. It's pretty easy to just push the iPod over inside the case to free them, but this shouldn't be necessary. Basically, it's just mildly annoying, but it's the reason I didn't give this 5 stars.

  Love this case, and the price can't be beat. Hardly adds any bulk to the nice thin iPod, yet protects the screen nicely and provides a nice grip as opposed to the slippery outer surface of the unit. I'd highly recommend it!
