  This is the best case and first time ever I found a great case for any gadget of mine in USA. Perfect fit, good quality, looks great. One reviewer has mentioned no plastic to protect screen, but I think that is ok because you are supposed to touch the ipod touch :) to use it, hence in fact if it had a plastic cover on screen, I would give it one star and not buy it.
  This case also has a small hole cut out on top to let light fall on the ambient light sensor which automatically adjusts brightness of the ipod touch. Get this case asap.

  After searching high and low for a folio style case for my new iPod Touch, I was thrilled to see that DLO was offering a nice, padded leather case for the Touch. I have purchased DLO cases for my iPod Nano (1st gen), and for my daughter's Sadisk Sansa e260 MP3 player. DLO really makes nice cases for MP3 players. This new DLO HipCase Folio for iPod Touch is very soft and padded. The magnet closures for the flip cover are a very nice touch. The belt clip is built on the case and is very slim; unlike those bulky, cheap plastic clips like so many other manufacturers use. The plasic clips break easily and make the cases stick out from your belt far too much. The iPod Touch fits in this case perfectly, and all of the ports and buttons line up just as they should. You don't have to take the MP3 player out of the case to charge it or for anything else. It provides the right amount of protection without adding an ulgy, bulky look to the sleek, thin design of the player. I highly recommend this case to everyone with an iPod Touch! The price is great and the quality is superb! =o)

  I must say, I hate most of the hard plastic or soft gel cases they have out there for all the iPod models. For my iPod touch, in particular, the only cases out there were also open to the elements, which meant that my iPod screen would either be in danger of being scratched or damaged, or I would have to put a plastic protector over the screen, which would reduce the touch sensitivity (not to mention all the damn bubbles that get caught under those things).
  
  Since the iPod touch came out, I've just been using the slipcase from my previous iPod, and have been looking for a case that both completely covered the iPod, but flipped open to allow the screen to be accessed without hindrance. This case does both, and you could not ask for a better product.
  
  The case is soft leather, which looks and feels very nice and allows the flap to be bent behind the iPod without problems, and the flap is conveniently held in place while closed with magnets. There's easy access to all ports, and even a small hole near the top of the iPod for the light sensor, which shows good thinking on the manufacturer's part. There is also a belt clip on the back, which is handy if I ever need to use it. The Touch fits very snugly inside, but is still easily removable (unlike some other cases, which nearly require a crowbar to insert and remove).
  
  My only gripe (and it's a small one), is that when in the case, the leather around the screen makes access to the borders a little harder, especially with web browsing (although it may just be my big fingers). Either way, it stopped being a problem after I was used to it.
  
  This is hands down the best case I've had for any mobile device. It's obvious the manufacturer put a lot of thought into what iPod Touch owners really wanted. If you have an iPod touch, and you want good protection with ease of use, you want this product! Well worth the small cost!

  Reasonably priced and fits my Itouch perfectly. It looks/feels like it costs MUCH more. All functions are fully accessible. Really--it's your basic "no-brainer" if you need a case for yours.

  IMO this is one of the nicest looking & feeling leather cases for the Touch. I specifically chose it because of the flip top (in order to protect the screen) & also because of the fairly open bottom (thinking I could still manage to dock it in a cradle while in the case)...
  
  Well, needless to say the later part was wishful thinking on my part as the Touch is not dockable into a cradle while in this case (the case makes the unit a bit wider & more so also extends below the bottom of the Touch by about 1/8" - pushing it further away from the bottom of the docking cradle, hence further from the dock connector).
  
  Out of the box it was a very nice fit, but I have noticed that after 2 weeks use that the fit is a bit looser now. This combined with the soft surface liner inside the leather case now allows the Touch to move about. This has me concerned (i.e. that it can slide in & out) as once the flip top is flipped to the open position, the top of the case is open. Accidentally turn it upside down with the flap open & your asking for a potential drop of your Touch out of the case.
  
  For fear of this I'm now getting a cheap, thin Black Silicone Skin to put over the Touch & then slide it back into the DLO Leather Case. I similarly did this practice for my Nano & it kept it very securely within it's DLO Nano leather case (as leather does give/stretch a bit).
  
  All in all, knowing this now - I'd still buy this case again but for that reason I'm giving it a rating of 4 out of 5...

  It's all been said by others. But, in case you find confidence in numbers, I will add my reassurance that, when it comes to look, assembly, feel of the leather, fit, and design, this is the best case I've come across for any of my gadgets. Does not add too much to the sleek thinness of the iTouch. Little pocket on inside of folding cover is perfect place to keep that soft screen-cleaning cloth that came with the iTouch - and so doing does not increase girth. Access to all ports, switches. When trying to touch something at the window margin (e.g., link on a web page), leather edges can slightly interfere with adult male fingers, requiring that the page be scrolled up/down or right/left. Reasonable protection: accidentally dropped the cased iTouch from chest level to parking lot pavement (aaaargh, heart-stopping moment while turning it on to check condition) but it came through fine. Without the case or a brittle case, and ....?

  I have to say, the case is a wonderful idea; and would work for me. I am having to send mine back, because of the smell... (like it's been dipped in GASOLINE)... I thought that after I opened it/ aired it out, it would be okay... (or so I had wished.) I wore it for a little while, and the smell just seemed to get worse, and it has made me sick to my stomach; and in smaller rooms, my eyes water. LOVE the case; I just would not be able to wear this in public without making others sick; including myself because the smell is SOOOOOO strong. It is not a "light" smell; it is VERY STRONG. I have seen this in other reviews... If you get one that doesn't smell, then it would be almost perfect. The smell would give it 0 stars, but the concept/case w/out a smell would be a 4 star. It is exactly what I need, but not if it is making me sick. I didn't understand what others had meant by "smell"; now I know it means REALLY SMELLS!!!!

  Cancelled my order for no reason out of the blue and it was needed for a Christmas present after many hours searching with daughter for just the right case. Don't list it if you don't plan on selling it, DLO!!
  
  ADDITION TO REVIEW 12/6/07: Found out WHY DLO cancelled it as they had PLENTY in stock! They didn't want to sell it at the low price I ordered it at of $19.99 (sale price) and I was able to instantly reorder it at the NEW price of $29.99 which I did because my daughter wants it for Christmas. Otherwise, DLO Company will NEVER get my business again! JERKS!
  
  
• Complete Protection for your IPOD Touch!

  Honestly, I haven't found a better case than this for the Ipods that we own. My son and I have tried several cases and this one is just "IT". It hits the mark on everything. It's got a nice padded inside to protect against scratching, plus it holds your ipod snuggly inside the case so that it will not slip out. Also, inside, you will find a nice little pocket to either hold your cleaning cloth, money, license, Credit Card...etc. There is a magnetic closure on the flap but when you open it, you have access to ALL the necessary buttons. There is absolutely no need for the plastic cover that goes over the front of the ipod at all, which I think makes a four hundred dollar item look cheap.
  
  This case however, while cheap in price, (*I got two of them for $19.20 right here on Amazon), does not look, feel or come anywhere close to being cheap or cheaply made. Amazon is my main place for bargains and if I'm looking for something, you can bet I check daily. There is usually not one problem with Amazon. They always seem to deliver with style!
  
  This case does not fall short on style at all, even at the above price. I felt that not one thing was over looked and the quality of the leather was supurb. SO if you are in the position that I was in, take my advice and don't by case after case...stop right here. You found it!

• Excellent case for the money!

  This case is a great buy as the workmanship is very good. My iPod Touch fits snugly inside and does not slip out easily. I didn't want the belt clip so I bent it up to allow access to the black rivet that holds it in place. Cutting around the rivet closely with an X-acto knife allowed me to wiggle the clip out of the holder so that it now fits more easily in a pocket or Bose headphone case. Also, the smell mentioned in other reviews must have been fixed as I smell nothing unless I hold the case right to my nose. Only then does it smell like any other leather product.

  This is a very good, high quality case. The leather on the front is very soft and it is a snug fit. I used to have the DLO case for my old iPod video, and that was great just like this one. It is definatly the best case available for the touch.

• Looked nice, but couldn't stand the smell!

  After reading the rave reviews for this product I was prepared to love it. Unfortunately the minute I opened the package I was overwhelmed with a very strong chemical odor; not a leather small, but a leather processing smell. My throat immediately began to tighten up, and I had to quickly seal it in a plastic bag, repeatedly wash my hands, etc. I could still "taste" it hours later. I thought it might be my own sensitivity, but my husband checked it out and couldn't stand it either. Hopefully this was not a widespread problem. Everyone seems to love it. But if you have allergies or asthma, beware.

  I purchased this case to disguise my iPod touch as a Palm pilot for use at work. My work frowns on having fun 'gadgets' or appearing as if they pay you too much. So with the flip cover up, people just think i have a palm and everyone's happy! The iPod fits in the case just fine-it's just the right size. The leather is butter smooth and soft with just the right amount of squish. For added protection you will still need a screen protector.
  
  
• My Ipod Touch's New Home

  After treating myself to an Ipod Touch (if you play with one at the Apple Store, you will want one too) I looked high and low for a case to keep it in to protect the back of the Touch and flip over the front when carrying in a brief case, but still not cover the touch screen with a plastic windo to allow me access to the touch keys. Just when I was about to give up, I found the DLO Folio. Since I got the product, my Touch has never left it. I keep it in the holder to charge, sync, listen to music, watch movies (great for covering the Touch up at work when watching a video) and clip to my belt when walking. I also like the small pocket on the other side. I have put my license and a credit card in their and away I go, then when I'm in a restraunt or church, I can connect to the WiFi and surf the net. Great product which is very useful.

  Mine just arrived. This is a great design with a real quality feel and appearance. However -- there is a very strong chemical smell. What ever was used to process the leather -- is still present. It just about knocks you over when you open the sealed packing. After a day, it is a little better. Hopefully it will out-gas and air out over the next few days. A family member just got one as well with the same concern. Five stars for design --- holding on 3 overall -- because I will need to return it if the smell continues.

  The DLO Hipcase is like a wallet for your IPod Touch. It offers no screen protector, but when closed does provide good protection for the touchscreen.
  Overall, I call it an IPod wallet. Keeps my IPod safe with reasonable handling and protected as I carry it around. The headphone jack remains available to play music when you belt clip it, or carry in a shirt pocket. It will not survive more than reasonable light use not for runners or sports types, good for walkers . Overall I m very pleased with the purchase and do not plan looking for other cases or covers. Delivery was rapid, and the package was very secure to protect the product during delivery.   This case is quite good. The leather is soft and cushy, and it holds the iPod Touch quite nicely. The small magnet keeps the case closed, and while I haven't used the belt clip much, my iPod is nicely protected, easy to tote around, and sleek looking in the black leather. My only complaint (a small one) is the top does not hold the iPod inside, so when pushing up from the bottom with an earplug jack or an Apple MA592LL/A iPod USB Power Adapter, the thing is likely to start sliding out, and if you aren't careful where you press to hold it in the case, you can accidentally turn off (or begin the turning off process of) the iPod. Other than that, this case is excellent.

  Other reviewers commented on the "gasoline" smell of the product, and while mine definitely had a strong smell when I opened the package, it dissipated quickly and now only has a faint leathery smell and only when I hold it right up to my nose. If you are very sensitive to smells, you may want to go into a store first and smell it in person.
  
  As for form and function, it works well. The magnetic clasp is handy and the iPod is held snugly. Typing with two thumbs works well for me, even with my short hands, perhaps even better because I feel like I have a firm grip.
  
  Because the case does not provide protection for the screen, definitely buy some screen protection film.
  
  The belt clip is fine, although I wish it rotated so I could carry it horizontally on my hip. I'm not exactly slim and it digs into my side, so I carry it hooked onto my pocket, sitting in the pocket.
  
  
• Case Works with the 2nd Generation (2g) iPod Touch except --

  I didn't want to wait for the 2g version of this case for my iPod touch version 2g. So, I purchased the 1g version.
  
  Although the iPod touch 2g is 0.02 inches thicker than the 1g, size wise the case fits the 2g flawlessly.
  
  Prior to purchasing the case, based on the pictures, I concluded that the 2g volume control buttons would be covered. This is indeed the case (not a pun). However, I plan to use the touch screen for volume control, so this is not an issue for me.
  
  The case does not seem to effect speaker volume or wifi connectivity.
  
  So, fives stars for a very nice case.

  Most iPod cases I looked at offered no protection for the touch screen. This one was just perfect. The iPod will not get damaged when placed in a computer bag or purse.

  For the money, this is one of the best cases I have seen for the iPod Touch. The HipCase protects the iPod from small drops, and the leather feels more expensive than it is.
  
  Pluses:
  
  The iPod slips snugly inside the case, with no chance of the iPod falling out. The backing is leather bound, and rigid enough to prevent damage to the iPod. The flap is bound in very soft leather on the face, yet is nice and stiff on the sides. The magnetic closure is a nice touch, and holds better than I expected.
  
  Minuses:
  
  There is no built in screen protection, which is probably a good thing, since most built in screen protectors look horrible. If you require it, you'll have to purchase some film separately. Personally, I left the original screen protection film Apple placed on the iPod from the factory. It's clear, and works perfectly.
  
  With the iPod in the HipCase, it's a bit hard to get to the very edges of the iPod screen with your finger. The protection is thorough, and covers the iPod all the way to the screen, if not over it a very slight bit.
  
  For me, the belt clip is totally useless, and I would have liked to be able to remove it. I like to carry the iPod in a jacket pocket, and would have liked a totally flat case when closed. It's a minor issue, as most people probably want the clip included.
  
  Overall, you can't go wrong with the HipCase.

  Classic look of leather is nice, but Best Buy has the same type with a much hipper look and when on sale, is a better deal than Amazon. But I really don't regret this purchase too much. It does its job very well. Keep the screen protector that came with the iPod, buy this case and you're set to go.

  Case protects well, yet is still slim enough to go in a pocket, and provides access to everything you need access to. Looks great, like the magnetic closing, and has space for a few business cards. The only problem I had with it was when new it smelled very strongly like shoe polish. That eventually went away. Highly recommend.

  Nice case, the leather is a bit thick where it wraps around the face of the iTouch, making it a bit difficult to touch items near the periphery of the screen. Q and P on the keyboard are particularly tough to hit reliably.
  
  
• Sleek, sexy, Fits Like an iGlove

  I did a bunch of research on a case and ended up choosing this one for the following reasons: it has a cut-out for the light sensor and the sync cable, it's very thin and sleek, and every rating commented on its high quality. The reviews were right and I now add mine to them: it's a perfect case for my needs, and I even like having the clip on the back, because I clip it to the inside of my bag so I can find it more easily. I did need to buy the IKross reusable screen protector (which I am also extremely happy with) because this doesn't come with one, but it was very inexpensive. Oh, and for the quality of this case, the price is incredibly reasonable. It keeps my iPod Touch safe without tons of bulk.
