  • Great Product

    By A252KC3NYOUQ1W on 2008-03-17
The only thing better than an 8GB "micro" card is the adapter it comes with.

As a new owner of a Macbook Air with a 64 GB SSD that I have made dual boot, I find this product incredible and mandatory given the space limitations of the Air.

  • Product codes are the same product!

    By A2AQNJO6J3PE4 on 2008-07-01
FYI, this product, SDSDQR-8192-A11M, is the same as Sandisk 8GB MicroSDHC Memory Card w/ MobileMate Reader (SDSDQR-8192-E11M, Retail Package), the only difference is the region it was sent to. "A" being for America and "E" for Europe. The products are no different (spoke with Sandisk directly). Be aware that some sellers are selling the E11M for more $$$. Check your product code when product arrives to make sure you are getting what you ordered.

  • Greatest card reader ever!!!

    By A2LI3EUE4AESW3 on 2008-04-24
I bought this in place of a normal thumb drive. I once had a thumb drive that broke after a couple days of use and I lost all the data. Since then I have been using card readers, that way if I break the drive I still have the card. Also, in a couple of years when the SDHC cards get better SDHC card readers are upgradeable to 2 terabytes cards. It is a good system.

The round part of the card reader is almost the size of a dime and about 4 dimes thick and only 1.25 inches long. It is smaller then most of my keys. It fits even the tightest USB ports. It is so small, I don't even notice it on my key chain.

The only down side I could think of is that the USB port doesn't have a dust cover. Currently, I have not gotten any dirt in their but it could happen. Even if they did include one I wouldn't use it anyway.

  • Works great on Blackberry curve 8310

    By A30L1LP2O2YA9T on 2008-07-16
Blackberry curve 8310 with 4.2 build recognize only 4gb. If you format this card in Curve you will get only 4gb. Format (ntfs) using Windows and then insert it into blackberry to use the whole 8 gb.

If I go to Options->Media Card -> mine says Total space available 7.5GB

  • Totally good

    By A1JSS9DADV5Q9N on 2008-03-25
Both the product and order processing/shipping were good, though I'm not sure why this fingernail size card was sent in a foot long box.

  • Great with ATT Tilt phone
    By A3B4W73B1KWR82 on 2008-04-28
This micro sd card works great with the tilt the USB thumb drive adapter is great and very rugged I have it on my key chain not even a scratch just be careful not to insert your card to fare into the USB adapter. The micro sd card is very hard to get out of the usb adapter if you push it in hard just use it gently and you'll have no problems. Very fast data transfer better then sanddisk 133x 2Gig sd card I have. Forgot to give it more stars and can't change it now sorry but I meant to give it 5.

  • You don't want a reader smaller than this...
    By A20XOKI1KEUFXO on 2008-06-22
Believe it or not, unless you need to surreptitiously carry a USB reader with you at all times, this one is as small as you'd want to have.

I own one microsdhc USB reader that's even smaller than this one. I don't think that one can accept microsdhc (to be honest, i haven't even checked - i'll check and edit this review if it turns out i can). That one is about the length of my finger nail and about the thickness of 4 microsdhc cards. It's probably about the size of this one if you lop off the bulbous end.

But I still use this one more. The other one is, if you can believe it, too small. I constantly lose and misplace it. Also, this one seems a wee bit faster (maybe because of the microsdhc?)

If you need one to store in your wallet (or your molar), search for the other one - Amazon doesn't sell it - it's a no name Taiwanese product. Otherwise, this one is small, effective, AND convenient.

There was an episode of Futurama where they showed that cellphones had gotten so small, you needed to chain them to larger items just to be able to find them. This reader is on the borderline sizewise.

  • Great product, great value
    By A1KZNYTC3JMB3T on 2008-03-26
I had read on some forums that this would work in my Samsung BlackJack II even though Samsung says the BJ2 only supports the 4GB. I opened the pack, popped it in, and the phone immediately recognized it. Now I have more storage then the 6 GB iPhone, 3G internet and multimedia messaging. HAH! Put that in your touch-screen pipe and smoke it!

  • hells yeah
    By A1D8BYVADXMLX3 on 2008-03-26
I was skeptical about buying this since other amazon vendors were selling it at a much higher price but this product came quickly in the mail and is 100% legit (packaged and all). If you're getting it for a Blackberry curve, the curve can only handle 3.6g of storage right now but once the upgrade software is avail, it will be able to handle closer to 8g

  • You need this for your smartphone.
    By A3KIVXKX9MVQOD on 2008-04-01
I bought this for my ATT Tilt, and it is perfect!! It holds all of my music, programs, and backups. I would say even if you think that you may not need an 8GB card, go ahead and get it. It will come in handy. BE CAREFUL NOT TO LOSE THE CARD, IT'S AS BIG AS YOUR THUMB PRINT!!

  • Great product
    By A1D7EXE1U64MAC on 2008-04-01
This thing works perfect for my AT&T Tilt. Holds a lot of information, music, videos, etc.

The price was excellent as well. Couldn't ask for anything else.

  • Excellent Card,
    By A2XJMS2J2FMVXK on 2008-05-31
In about a year I'm going to look back on this comment and think to myself what a fool I was, but WOW, 8 GB in such a small form factor. This is truly incredible. The write speeds were "okay", not great, but I'm not trying to use it as a flash drive on a regular basis or anything. It works fantastically with the USB dongle that comes with the card( which is also small), and all in all the card was a good purchase. The reader was an added( though necessary) bonus, as it reads MicroSDHC cards and fits in your pocket while taking hardly any space at all.

Some quick data about the card that I had( I'm sure you could Google this, but if it's all in one place, that's good too, right?):
    Minimum transfer Rate: 4.2 MB/sec
    Maximum Transfer Rate: 18.5 MB/sec
    Average Transfer Rate: 10.2 MB/sec

    Access Time: 6.4 ms
    Burst Rate: 3.9 MB/sec

Also another quick note: This might be obvious to most people (as it should be if you've bought flash or disk memory before), but you'll only be getting 7786 MB (not 8 GB). It's not a big deal, but if you're buying this card for a 7.9 GB file or something like that, you'll need to look elsewhere for your massive-file-storing needs.

Tl;dr I thoroughly appreciate the card, but the transfer speeds are too low for me to give it top marks.

  • Grandson made happy
    By A2Y1CKZ60DFJIR on 2008-07-03
Recently I went looking for a gift for my 19 year grandson. I asked him what he wanted and he told me a Memory Card for his cell phone. I am completely illerate when it come to electronics and told him to go shop around and I would buy it for him. He and his grandpa went to several places, including ebay. We found it here on Amazon for the price we wanted to pay. We had fast delivery, good communication, and my grandson was completely happy with the performance. He said he would rate it at 100%. All I can tell you is that I was pleased I saved a lot of money. So Amazon, once again, closed the generation gap!

  • Amazing!
    By A31HE83MU98GBV on 2008-07-17
This is the most adorable little thing. Who would imagine they can get 8 GB of memory onto something the size of a pinky nail? The bonus for me was the cute little card reader that came with it. It's so much smaller than the adapter for an SD card. It comes with a small lanyard and an easily detachable clip, so you can carry it on your keys. I hooked the lanyard to it but will only use it at home, as I'm using the memory card in my Samsung Instinct. This would be great for transferring work files to & from. Also it should be noted that the card reader is VERY lightweight while still being sturdy.

  • Works great with my AT&T Tilt
    By A2ZQ9EKUDT5WQS on 2008-04-15
I am using the memory card with my AT&T Tilt and it works great. It allows me store plenty of music and programs on it. I also use the reader to backup my data to my PC. Amazon had the best price that could not be beat anywhere.

  • Solid Performing Memory Card
    By A3LMOKLQC3UZHT on 2008-06-26
I'm using this in a Blackberry 8330 Curve, the card works as advertised as does the reader. No problems, highly recommend!

  • Works great. A little worried about reader lasting, though.
    By A1WZDYQ8WYOJRP on 2008-04-01
Love this 8gb card. Has worked great in my Verizon XV6800. Allows me to use it as a music player reliably. The reader is very small which is good and bad. GOOD: doesn't take up much space in my pocket. BAD: must keep an eye on it to avoid losing it. Also, it seems a little fragile during normal use. Feel like I have to be gentle with it. Otherwise, overall, it was a great purchase.

  • Works great with my HTC Touch.
    By A3QLVRCJMIJ7ZS on 2008-04-11
I had no problems transfering my existing files from my old 2 GB microSD card to this new 8 GB microSD card via my PC USB port using the included adapter. Comes up with 8 GB in my phone and now I have plenty of room for files and music! Don't forget to put files in sub-directories, there is a limit to the number of files that can be in the root directory of any device.

  • Great Card, Great service
    By A22467H6ZQJI0R on 2008-05-02
This 8Gig card is indeed tiny! Due to the thinness of the card I was a little concerned about putting to much force on the card to get it installed in my phone. Which, by the way, is a Motorola Q9h (ATT service). After a bit of tentativeness, the card installed just fine. The little USB card reader that comes packaged with the microSD card is, well ..., cute. It to is small and seems to do the job it was intended to do.

The service from Digital Media Source was wonderful. I ordered the card late Sunday night and immediately received an email indicating the order was accepted. The following morning (Monday) I received an email that the order had shipped. I received the card via US postal service on Thursday. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and would order from this vendor again!

  • Great Product
    By AEWQTSH6PRC5Z on 2008-05-12
I purchased this product to add memory to my AT&T Tilt cell phone. Not much to tell other than it worked great. Speed seems to be ok, card was recognized by the Tilt immediately. No problems.

  • Superior alternative to a thumb drive!
    By A34LFSJHD41MGD on 2008-06-04
First off, if you haven't one of these cards in person, I guarantee you'll be astonished when you open the box. The box is massive, with loads of documentation that says nothing and tons of wasted plastic. Once you manage to open the evil clam-shell packaging of doom without cutting your fingers, you can fondle this amazing little thing in your hands.

I think the example pictures here on amazon are actually *larger* than life size. I hate putting things on my keychain, but this is so portable I can't even tell it's there. Now you have *no* reason to leave home without your data! The card pulls out pretty easily with a fingernail, and will only fully insert one way so there's little chance of destroying it by putting it in upside down.

The reader works perfectly, although once Vista failed to recognize it. However, I found that it also failed to recognize my other flash drives, so I don't believe it was the fault of this reader.

It would've been nice if the package had come with a microSD to SD adapter, but that's just quibbling over a great product. I got this to go along with my new CycloDS Evolution (a handy little device that lets you run homemade programs on your Nintendo DS and even turn it into a PDA), but I'll also enjoy it for lugging files to and from work, and using it with standard SD devices with an adapter.

Definitely worth the money for any use you might put it to.

  • Excellent
    By A3O5DXM8U22OBA on 2008-06-06
I love it! I bought this for my Blackberry Pearl so that I could use it as an MP3 player as well, and it is perfect.

The only complaint that I have about it is that I tried putting the memory card into the reader, which was fine and worked, but it was nearly impossible to get out. I thought that I would snap the thing in half the first day that I got it. Honestly, unless you want to use the card reader with the memory card forever, don't use it at all. You might regret it.

  • SanDisk *gb MicroSD with Card reader
    By A2E06YSZJ2IFO2 on 2008-06-16
This product is awesome!!!! The Card reader is so small and easy to carry and was VERY FAST TRANSFERRING MY DATA from my old 4gb MicroSD to my new 8gb one. I will definitely shop here again!

  • Excellent value!
    By A167JKEBH2YPO on 2008-06-18
This is a great value since you not only get a 8GB microSDHC (which works perfectly in my Nokia N78) but the USB reader works great too. Most microSDHC bundles come with an adapter which means you still need at a minimum an SD card reader to access it. This solution means you can literally plug this into any PC/MAC and have full access to your microSDHC card!

The reader is also incredibly small and perfect to carry on a keychain. It's actually smaller than any of my keys!

  • Works for my Blackjack 2
    By A2T9W8V2RDTVV9 on 2008-07-09
This item fit the bill for my memory storage needs for my blackjack 2.
Data transfers were quick and painless via the included mobilemate reader; plug and play! The reader is pretty tiny as well so those with big fingers may have a little bit of problem trying to remove the sd card from it! Just a heads up. Would be great if sandisk included some type of "extractor tool" to make the job easier...but no biggie, just wishful thinking.

  • Happy with Performance
    By A27BKOGXB44BWE on 2008-07-18
I purchased this item for my Blackberry Pearl 8110. It was simple to use and put into my phone. I have been pleased with it's performance. Instead of the total of the 8GB, it only registers on my phone at 7.6GB. I have so much more storage that I don't even think that I will be able to fill it all. I am happy with this item.

  • Great storage, but the reader is poorly designed.
    By A28NGRR0Q1A2NU on 2008-07-21
When I purchased this item, it was the cheapest way to get 8GB of flash storage, which really surprised me. The card looks well build and feels solid for something that's almost paper thin and smaller than my thumb nail.

I am a bit disappointed with the USB reader that came with the card. While solidly constructed, the bulbous end makes it difficult to remove the card from the reader. I would have been much happier with a reader that either had a spring release or had a cut out end so I could grasp both sides of the Micro SD to easily remove it.
To make matters worse, the area on the left end of the Micro SD (as you look at it with the text visible and right side up) that appears to be a grove is actually a slope. This makes it difficult to catch the card with a thumbnail.

Because of these two factors, I've had a difficult time removing the card from the reader.

This product would be perfect if all I wanted was a replacement for my older flash drives, but it falls just a little short if you want to be swapping cards in the reader regularly.

Still, for the price it can't be beat. Highly recommended despite its shortcomings.

  • Excelent product!!!!
    By AYM9GS77JR86G on 2008-03-26
This is an excelent product, reliable, fast and have a bast capacity to load music, videos and pictures... I currently use it with my SE K850 and works great!!!

  • Excellent little device
    By A2429Z1Q1IO3LJ on 2008-05-03
A flash drive small enough to keep in my wallet, with 8 GB of storage -- and it goes in my phone too! Someday I'll find a phone that can really play music, and it'll become my storage for the phone, but meantime it's getting plenty of use and performing great.

  • Am Completely Satisfied
    By A29BR0STD910A1 on 2008-05-10
This micro sd is really fast, and I like its MobileMate Reader the most, It's so small and when you buy this item you'll have a very fast memory card for your mobile in addition to an 8GB flash memory
