Great little camera case! By AOC8ZS4926PI8 on 2007-11-22
I purchased this case to go with my Canon A570 IS camera. While it may not look it, it's a sturdy little case, with a soft lining which helps protect the camera's LCD screen.
There's a small zippered pouch in the front, which can hold 4 AA batteries, or a spare memory card.
I guess my primary reason for chosing it, over the PSC-60, or PSC-65, cases was the looks. The black color is unabtrusive, the styling is simpler, and it's a perfect compliment to Canon's A-series cameras.
Sturdy case with no extras By A2581VJMYDSQ81 on 2007-12-26
I just received this along with a 720 IS camera for Christmas. While I like that it is sturdier than many camera cases I've seen, the design is very poor. I agree with all reviews that mention the storage capacity, although I'm fairly sure that if one is careful in how the storage pocket is used, it could probably hold 4 batteries and 1 memory card. The main reason for the three star review is the lack of a strap on this bag. Canon assumes that everyone who uses this case will be wearing a belt. I never wear one and am now having to find a way to rig up this case to work for my needs, namely a strap that connects to the case which I can put around my waist. Not very impressive Canon!
Nice little case By A20DDH4NT6Q1E8 on 2008-08-24
I purchased this for my Canon A590IS. As many other reviewers have mentioned, it has an outside zipped pocket which can hold 2 pairs of spare batteries (4 x AA) or an extra memory card.
The case is sturdier than I thought, which was a nice surprise, has a belt loop in the back, a velcro fastened top flap, and is filled with soft lining inside to prevent scratching. I felt confident putting this case in my soft-sided carry-on bag for a long flight, knowing that my camera would be suitably protected. Once opened, the camera is easily accessible, and slides in and out effortlessly from the top--perfect if you use the belt loop.
For just a basic carry/protective case for your compatible Canon camera, you can't go wrong with this one for the price.
Not a good case for Canon a650 IS By ATDUC56VCS1LX on 2008-04-01
This case is too small for the Canon a650 IS. Additionally, the flap does not close totally over the camera such that rain and dust can easily get in. I do not recommend this case, even though Canon itself does!
Nice little case By A1T2TPGC70R6DE on 2007-12-07
Great little case for our Canon Powershot A720IS with enough space to hold 4 batteries. Would buy it again.
- Nice basic case
     By A3H2DOHSLE6FY9 on 2007-12-16
For the money, this is a nice camera case. The down side is storage. There is only one pocket which can only hold extra batteries or memory card. Wish the manufacturer had added pockets on the side. They probably would have been big enough to hold extra memory cards and then the front pock can old extra batteries. That would be a nice, simple, small volume case.
- Perfect fit, solidly built.
     By A3NVI9PGM1RCO1 on 2008-01-07
I bought this case for my wife to carry her new Canon Powershot A720is. They were made for each other, as the fit is perfect. It doesn't slide or move around and there is a perfectly placed and sized zippered pocket to fit some extra batteries or another SD card. Stitching is well done and quality of the material is top notch too. It's the perfect fit for a small, "don't get in the way and be too bulky" case.
- Case leaves something to be desired
     By A27DF340AJLWHH on 2008-07-18
Disappointed that the case for my Canon A590 does not have a strap or even enough space in the attached loop to get my fingers inside (is the loop to run a belt through? Useless for me.) Also the velcro makes an awful racket if I try to open it to get the camera in a quiet place.
- Elegant case
     By A2FPD0YN84F68N on 2007-12-22
I bought it for my Canon G9. You need to put G9 in this case very hardworking. However, it suits my Canon Powershot A700, perfect match! So this case now serves as the protect overcoat of A700.
I love the design of this case. Simple and firm make this case look elegant.
This case provides a small space to place memory card. You can put in 1-2 memory card(s). But there is no more space to place batteries.
- Don't buy it.
     By A1XBLJJO56JNKW on 2007-12-31
The case has no zipper, therefore can't use it in the rain or near water unless u want to get your camera WET. Really not worth it. Much better to go to Target, spend half the price and get something much better.
- Not suggested
     By AXEGMF8R6OIKA on 2008-01-04
The material that it is made of is very good and seems that it will protect the camera well, but it is not useful. There is only one memory card pocket and as those cameras use batteries I think that a pocket for them is missing. It shouldn't be described as the appropriate case for those cameras. I also missed a strap to carry the case.
- Nice, but not for A650-IS
     By A3OAPBEMR0B3JV on 2008-08-04
While Canon advertises this as the "right" case for the A650-IS, it's simply not big enough for that camera. It fits the A720 nicely (I gave my PSC-85 to my sister, who has that model), as well as earlier A6x0 cameras like the A620 and A630, but the cover doesn't close completely on the bigger A650-IS. If you're looking for a case for the A650-IS with a little extra room for batteries and a spare SD card, go for the Tamrac 5691 (perfect-sized, secure pouch with plenty of extra storage) or the Lowepro Spectrum 50 (nice, padded, but perhaps not as secure with its zip-around enclosure) instead.
- Don't buy it if you require a shoulder strap
     By AFEAQ350D3LIS on 2008-01-20
I bought this for the new Canon A570IS camera I purchased for Christmas.
The case itself is very solid and nice looking. But, had I known that it did NOT have a shoulder strap, I would have never purchased it. That's plain stupid to not have a shoulder strap. Only the cheapest $2 camera cases at Wal Mart or otherwise do not have a shoulder strap. I inquired about returning back to Digital Etc. for a refund, and they said they would take it back. I paid almost $5 for shipping, then if I return it, I have to pay for that shipping, and they charge me a 15% restocking fee. Hardly worth returning. If you REALLY want this case for a reasonable price, contact me and I will make you a deal. Otherwise I am going to list it on eBay.
- Velcro is so 80s
     By A3ALR7LBETMX5L on 2008-03-31
The photo suggests some sort of metallic lock, maybe a button, maybe even magnetic, but turns out, the metal tab is entirely for show.
Underneath is a velcro patch, which will come loose or become frayed in just a few months.
That said, you shouldn't really be expecting more for the price. But make sure shipping doesn't gouge you. I foolishly ended up paying $10 for this $3 piece flimsy velcro pouch. Very misleading product description and shipping rates.
- Canon PSC-85 Soft Case - A Hard Sell
     By A1I3XDX71783L9 on 2008-04-11
Canon makes great Cameras so I thought I would try their A series Camera case. Here is the lowdown.
Good: It is a nice neutral color and attractive, it opens quickly and it is Lightweight, Sturdy, and seems to be of good Quality. This really is a very nice looking case.
The Not So Good Surprises For Me: Soft but not soft enough for me. This is made from a stiffish nylon. It does not have any zippers and has no secure fasteners (like locking clips, snaps or buckles), only velcro ensures the case stays shut. It does not completely cover my A650IS. At the top of the case on each side there are openings... the cover just flips down and over the camera leaving gaps at the top sides.
It does NOT have a small extra pocket for that AA battery pack that you should be carrying. If you are after style and a nice looking case with ease of use then this might be for you. If you are looking mainly for praticality and bullet proof protection then you might want to look elsewhere. I was looking for something more on the bullet proof side with room for extra batteris so I relegated this to my desk drawer as a storage case for my old Canon A40.
- Well Made Compact Case for G9
     By AZW3AEUE43SAN on 2008-07-03
I bought this case for our new Canon G9 after reading various reviews on the internet. I looked at the Canon cases made for the G9, but they were kind of bulky. Also looked at a couple made by Lowepro. I was looking for something compact. This case is actually made for a smaller PowerShot, but the G9 fits in snugly. There's probably enough room for another memory card or maybe a spare battery, but that's about it. Only criticism is that it has a belt loop instead of a clip, but most seem to be made the same way. Just came back from 10 days in Greece and the case worked great. Sturdy, stylish and handy. The best choice for a compact case for the G9.
- Canon PSC-85 Soft Case For Cannon A 590Is
     By A215X0JRAUTC0O on 2008-09-30
This is as good a case as I have seen, a real buy for $10. Although it isn't weather tight it is made very well, attractive, heavy enoungh to protect your camera, has a convient belt loop and a handy zip pocket to store extra SD chips.
It doesn't indicate that it fits the Cannon A590IS but it is the one they ship and it fits just fine.
- A perfect fit for Canon Powershot 590 IS!
     By A1AG52TH6T5JGX on 2008-10-26
I purchased this with my new Canon Powershot 590IS recently, and coincidentally it fits perfectly!
It alsohas a pouch that can hold up to 4 AA batteries, a couple of SD cards, or just mix and match. In addition it also has a strap in the back to so you can insert your belt with if needed.
The Case itself looks and feels very durable and genuine.
Definitely worth the $10 buy! (:
- It's small
     By A1ST4KF24YTCL on 2007-12-28
This is a very small case. It basically wraps around the camera with a small pocket for a memory card. There's not even room for batteries. It's good if you want small. It's sturdy enough. There's not even a strap. You use the camera's strap to carry it.
- Nice Case
     By A10UQM25WLEYOD on 2008-06-01
Nice case, the A590 IS fits well in it, it has an extra pocket so you can fit an extra set of 2AA batteries and an SD card easily.
- value for money
     By APJUVXT7YCATC on 2008-06-27
I bought canon A590 IS camera and this case is perfect for it. It fits perfectly and has a zipper for extra memory cards and batteries. I had to put a little force but they fit allright. It has a belt buckle to it fits snug on ur waist. All n all an awesome case for the canon A series
- Case works great!
     By A2AT7RN5RW41XU on 2008-10-18
I wanted a case to put in my purse (yes, it's a big, no, HUGE, purse! LOL!) But it works and keeps the camera from getting scratched and accidentally pushing buttons and wearing down the batteries. It was a good buy. Thanks!
- This is compatible with A640
     By A14I08Y2KLXEBD on 2007-12-31
I took a guess that this would probably with the A640 if it fits the A650 and I was right.
Can't hold extra batteries, but fits the camera nicely.
There is an extra zippered pocket for an extra memory card or two.
Don't bother with this case if you want to carry more than just the camera.
- A Very Nice Canon Case
     By A1FDSZISWIXH1A on 2007-12-31
I ordered this case for my new Canon Powershot A650IS, which is a fairly large digital camera. When it arrived, I was surprised and pleased to find this case to be as trim and compact as it is. Also, it is a Canon product and as such, it is a high quality case.
The entire case is made of a heavy, black, ballistic-type fabric, similar to Hartmann high-end luggage. It is well padded and completely lined with a smooth fabric.
There is a large belt loop on the back. Indeed, it is really designed for use hanging from a belt.
The front flap closes securely with a large velcro fastener.
There is a very small storage pouch which is accessed via a zipper on the front of the case. It might be large enough for 2 AA batteries if you have one of the A710 or A720 cameras, which only use 2 batteries and are somewhat smaller cameras. However, if you have an A650, the camera is too big to fit in the case along with any batteries. (And the A650 requires 4 AA batteries, anyway.) Really, the little zippered pouch is most suitable for some extra SD cards.
As long as you understand this case is just big enough to let you have your camera with you wherever you are, you'll be happy. But if you need to have extra batteries or lenses or a tripod or anything else, you'll either want a larger bag or you'll have to carry another bag at the same time.
- Works for the Canon A650 - kinda
     By AC67Q0LJM1LC0 on 2008-01-07
I'm using this case for my Canon A650 camera -- it works, but not the best. It's a tight fit after the camera is inserted, so another set of batteries probably wouldn't fit. The lack for a neck strap is fine for me -- if I'm on vacation, I'll just use the belt loop.
- Canon PSC - 85 Camera Case
     By A209HZGN63PPT6 on 2008-05-27
Canon PSC-85 Deluxe Soft Case for Canon Powershot A650IS and A720IS Not a gadget bag, on the belt this is a camera
"holster". The camera fits snugly but can be drawn and used quickly. There is a small zippered pocket for batteries or a memory card. Attractive, typical Canon high quality fabric.
- Nice camera case
     By A2UB94YLVQNE3A on 2008-06-13
I read some other reviews that complained that the front pouch wouldn't hold an extra card and batteries. I had no trouble fitting an extra card (in its plastic case) and 2 spare batteries into the front pouch, with the camera in the bag. It fits nicely on a belt, and is great for dragging my little camera around without stuffing it into my pockets.
- Great Camera
     By A16O2NW88CSDY7 on 2008-01-01
I recently bought this camera and it is great. It is not hard to figure out how to use and the screen is bigger than other cameras so it allows you to really see what you are looking at. It is also lightweight. It takes nice, sharp pictures. I did buy a bigger memory card than the one that came with it. The one drawback is that after taking a picture there is a 5-10 second delay before you can shoot another picture. I think that there is a way to change that but I haven't gotten to that part of the book yet. I would totally recommend this camera for the average user.
- Great product!
     By A6JF3TCDC9UU5 on 2008-01-09
Great product if you are having a second thought on this case, please don't just buy it you won't regret it. Excelent and stylish!
- Good value
     By AM1XZ1GPFXUE8 on 2008-01-12
This camera case is fine. There is room in it for only 2 spare batteries...nothing else.
