  THE 12 VOLT CIGARETTE LIGHTER ADAPTER PITCHED BY RADIO SHACK AND AMAZON LOOKS JUST LIKE THE ADAPTER I PICKED UP AT BIG LOTS FOR $3! I WANTED & NEEDED THIS ADAPTER, JUST COULDN'T SEE WHERE IT WAS WORTH 20 BUCKS.

  The wall charger for our Navigon is a nice tool for us. We can sit at the kitchen table and plan our routes on the Navigon without fear of running down the battery. That's exactly why we purchased it and that's exactly what it does. We use it all the time.

  This comes in handy all the time. This way I don't worry about plugging it into the cigarette lighter which is good because the wire will not reach the unit where I had to put it on my windshield.

• A home charger adaptor for any Navigon GPS unit

  This is your basic, no frills, home wall charger for use with any Navigon GPS unit. It allows you to charge your Navigon GPS unit's battery in your own home by inserting the receptacle end of the car charger cord into the wall charger and the other into the GPS. The GPS has an indicator light on it to let you know when it's fully charged.
  
  Without this home unit the only way to charge your GPS battery is to do it from your car. (possibly wasting time and gas if you weren't planning to go somewhere)

  I bought the AC/DC converter as part of a purchase that also included the zippered hard case for my Navigon 7100. The charger is a clever design because it allows you to use your existing power cord - the one you plug into the car voltage socket. And it works with any AC source from 120 to 240 VAC, 50-60 Hz. So you can take it to Europe with you and charge your Navigon unit while in your room. I only wish the designers had made the blades retractable to reduce the profile.

  I bought this indoor charger immediatly after I got my Navigon 2100 GPS.
  Like my cell phone, there are times when you want your equipment charged up and ready to go without always depending on the car charger. The light will turn green after a couple of hours on the indoor wall socket and will charge it for 2 or 3 hours. It's nice to hand-hold it as a passenger or practice using it outside on the patio. It just reduces the need to always be depending on cords and the car charger when you might also need it for your cell phone.( $20. plus a new hairbrush for free shipping.)
