  This case looks and feels very good. But it is deceptive in that it feels sturdy. It is not - it *easily* pops open when dropped. I just found this out yesterday with my week-old iPod falling while I was biking, the top popped off and the face of my new iPod was terribly scraped up on the asphalt. I would have had more protection with a thin plastic film.
  For all the thickness the case adds, it does not add any more protection than a plastic sheet.

• Do your homework before you buy - Excellent case for IPod Classic 160Gb 6th Gen

  I've seen other reviewers give this item a lower score because it didn't fit their iPod, to be honest this isn't really fair (if it did fit would it get a higher score?). As with any product you buy you need to do your homework. Sometimes on Amazon.com (and other sites) the description is not as clear as it could be. So it is wise to ask the seller a question and/or check the manufacturer's website for a full description to ensure compatibility. Even more important given the multi-generation, styles and sizes of iPods out there.
  
  With that said, I just got an iPod Classic 160Gb and was actually having some trouble finding a case that looked like it could fit it at my local retail stores. So I went online looking for what brands made a case for this particular iPod (and even verified at the Apple site what generation I had to be more aware and not end up with something useless to me). I found the Belkin site and checked up on this specific case and it appeared to meet my needs.
  
  I got the case yesterday and it was exactly what I expected. It specifically fits the 6th Generation iPod Classic 80/160Gb units (no other). It comes with 2 [clear] back pieces in order to properly fit which unit you have (mine came snapped together for an 80Gb). It was easy to snap the case to the iPod and use it immediately. Nothing on the iPod is hampered by the case, I can easily plug in my earbuds, switch the hold button and hook it to my laptop to add more music. Even the click wheel is protected and is easily used through the thinner plastic covering.
  
  This case appears to be very sturdy, but like another reviewer mentioned if you drop it it is likely to come apart and maybe even crack depending upon impact. But for normal wear and tear I think this works very well. The iPod is protected from dust and scratches which is what I wanted.

  I purchased this case along with my new 80GB IPOD Classic and it is the perfect case. You have complete access to all ports and the ipod is 100% protected. The screen and and wheel are covered. I will not fear if I spill something or drop it. The case comes with 2 backs that fit either the 80 GB or the 160GB. I highly recommend this item if you have the IPOD Classic!

  Highs -- This provides protection from scratches, smudges, and probably some weather protections (not waterproof). May even provide some shock protection as the plastic is thick. It is easy to get on and off if you want to remove the device. It covers almost the whole product, and still provides good usage of all controls.
  
  Lows -- The weird color, I would've been happy with clear (it may exist, I just didn't find it). Some of the plugs I use in the headphone port have had to be trimmed to fit into the guide. Not a big deal, or a major modification, but it is a nit-pick. It did take a bit of time to get used to the little bit less sensitivity the track wheel has through the plastic shield.
  
  Overall, for the price, it's a good value and a strong product.
  
  

• Solid protective case, bad cover for clickwheel

  Very nice product, looks nice, and can take a beating. Only drawback is that the clickwheel cover prevents a lot of movements from being recognized by the iPod (volume changes, scrolling within a song, etc.) - I have contemplated taking the clickwheel cover off because of this problem. Otherwise, a good case.
  
  
• Best Price for the Protection your iPod needs...

  Even though it says metal case, it is part metal(front) and part plastic(back). However, it's a sleek protection that will protect both your screen and key-pad to the fullest. At the same time, all the plug-ins are fully accessible, even with those accessories without taking the case off. I've used Sony iPod Speaker and Radio system with this case...I couldn't believe when the iPod with case just slide into small grove of that system......Cons: Not for Walking, Jogging, or Running, since case does not have any support for bands or clips. So I would not suggest for athletes or Gym-goers.
  
  Oh, Back plastic cover comes with spare one...so I guess don't worry about breaking it, you at least got an extra one.
  
  I would suggest buying it for it's sleek and smooth look with best protection I have ever seen for any iPod.

  I love Belkin products not only because they tend to look real good but functionally they are great products.
  
  The Remix case for the iPod Classic is what it claims to be: A classy form-fitting hard case for your iPod! It really doesn't get simpler than that! Keeps your iPod safe from nicks, scratches, bumps AND fingerprints. Plus you still have access to all your switches, buttons & jacks. It even has a protective cover over the scroll wheel. How the scroll-wheel can still sense your fingers I have no idea but it works. Initially I couldn't get it to work but I tried lighter circular movements and got the hang of it.
  
  Note: you actually get 1 & a half cases with this product because it consists of the front face plate & a back tray for the 80GB AND a back tray for the 160GB (it being slightly fatter).
  
  I think Belkin is releasing more designs and colors so it will be great to see more of these.
  
  One comment: Although I have no complaints about Amazon's price for this product, I wonder if if would become even cheaper if Belkin sold the 80GB tray separately from the 160GB tray? In any case, this is a great product for people who like form-fitting cases for their iPod.
  
  
• Might have to Macgyver it up

  This is a good solid case that gives me the feeling that I could hit my Ipod fairly hard with twigs, NERF bats and other solid but nonlethal bludgeoning tools. Scraping objects would pose no threat to the device: I am a saucepan user, and so my house contains clumps of steel wool whose location I keep less than constant track of. My Ipod has nothing to fear from these rogue abraders.
  
  My readiest complaint regards the thin film of rubbery plastic over the scroll wheel. The material does not adhere snugly to the device's surface, and is a poor tactile conductor. I find I cannot move my thumb lightly over the wheel as I might a lover's palm; I have instead to roll the digit clumsily about the touch wheel, making me feel like a shifty-eyed criminal undergoing fingerprint registration. Even then, the player is loathe to accept my commands. I may have to simply remove the insulative membrane, hoping that any dogs that attempt to steal my Ipod grip it by the better-protected screen end.

  Great protection of screen and clickwheel while not interfering with the wheel at all. Would probably pop apart if dropped onto a hard surface, but with this kind of cover thats to be expected. Seems solid.
  
  
• Neat looking case

  The black Classic iPod 160 GB looks very neat in this case. The case protects your iPod from scratches, sweat, and dust without hindering operation. The click wheel is also covered but it works through the cover.
