  • After a long search

After a long search for a case for my nano, I found this great cover. It fits the ipod very well. It gives a profesional look and full protection. Once you open the cover the ipod can be easily slide in and out from the side. The magnetic closure is perfect. The only cons it that to access the expansion port, you will have to take it out of the cover. But like I mentioned before, it is so easy to take it out of the cover that I do not mind. If you plan on having it on your briefcase, pocket, bag, etc, it is perfect. If you are a heavy user of the expansion port, you might want to think about it.

I liked it so much that I bought the same cover for all the other Ipods in the house. (Ipod 60G and 80G) My wife loves hers!

  • Fitting

    By A6FIAB28IS79 on 2008-03-27
Having just returned an iMainGo "personal" speaker that, in effect, upconverted my iPod Nano 3G into a clunky boom box, I'm happy to report that this Belkin case is tailor-made for the little tyke. The word "Folio" is hardly an apt description for a diminutive, square-ish item that is barely any wider or taller than the Nano itself. The leather is good quality and smells it. A caveat: you can't charge the Nano while it's in the case (some easy, minor adjustments by the manufacturer to the elastic strap would have made the dock connector accessible) nor is its audio output easily accessible to certain cables (esp. with a right-angle mini-plug) while encased.

If purchased at its retail price (or anything north of 10 bucks), the Belkin Case will no doubt disappoint, though to see a large box arrive from Amazon with contents smaller than a single playing card may provide some compensating humor.

Note: Although Amazon currently lists this Belkin Nano 3G case as "black," it's actually black&brown. In fact, I see no difference between it and the Belkin case listed as "black&chocolate" at a lower price. Maybe Amazon has in mind the skin color of the consumer. Whichever is lower priced, I'll be that color.

I love this case. I received it for Christmas. The only way to improve upon it would be to add a clip.

  • Excellent iPod case!

    By A1T9OJTZ6N81LR on 2008-05-03
The Belkin Leather Folio case for iPod Nano 3G is excellent. I bought it mainly to protect my iPod Nano while traveling back and forth to Europe. The case is lightweight but very well made. The plastic window allows protection of the screen yet viewability is very good. It is an excellent case to protect your iPod Nano!

  • Nice looking leather

    By A1DIOW7NNS2ZZG on 2008-03-04
The case is really good looking and has excellent leather quality. The only issue is the plastic cover for the screen, it is does not stay completely flat, thus producing glare, which is not good when watching videos.

  • Good, but not great.
    By A3ID4ZFIZI8AMI on 2008-05-03
    Pros:
    - Excellent quality leather
    - Great colors (black on outside, brown on inside)
    - Very slim
    - Easy to slide the iPod in and out of the case
    - Very sturdy and offers excellent collision protection

    Cons:
    - Protective film over screen doesn't lay flat (just cut it out)
    - A little harder to navigate w/ the click-wheel (raised edges on case)
    - Not able to connect to USB cables for syncing/charging
    - Doesn't fit perfect, slightly off on one side, barely noticeable though
    - Awkward to hold iPod open b/c flap on left doesn't fold back
    - Because of above, this isn't good if you are watching videos, and need to be constantly looking at the iPod (fine for just music though)

Overall, I like this case, but I'm not hugely happy, but I am definitely satisfied.

  • Perfect Fit
    By A33LJ8IVLCVBQU on 2007-12-27
I have this folio for my iPod Nano 3rd Generation 4GB and it fits perfectly. When I leave my car, I take my nano out of the car adapter and slip it into the folio. It fits in my purse with ease and protects my nano from getting scratched or damaged.

  • ipod 3G leather case
    By A1KQ1UN9QW8UGI on 2008-02-05
I just received the leather case and I'm pleased to say I got what I expected to get.
You do have access to the headphone jack and locking switch. You do not have access to the connector for docking with the case on. The Ipod slides in and out without any difficulty. The plastic cover is over the LCD display and the operating wheel is not covered. This is a beautiful leather case for the ipod and I highly recommend it.

  • Cute Little Case
    By A1BIRPBVJDMY04 on 2008-02-22
I absolutely love the case. It's very stylish & classic looking. Even the guys wanted it. It mades the ipod look so nice. And you can still use control pad without any issues under the plastic covering. I love it!

  • Slim and Sturdy Protection
    By A2S6G9CKFZR0FT on 2008-03-09
I've seen this case in pink in the stores locally, so I was glad to find it in Black/Brown online. As the other reviews state, it's a slim little case with suede lining that provides easy access to the headphone port and hold switch. The case is sturdy without adding bulk and has no annoying belt clip. The screen protector does create a slight glare, but it's not super distracting (and easily removable with a razor blade if you just can't stand it). You can't access the dock port, but as a trade, the port gets protected from dust/debris.
The magnetic closure is nice, though I'm unsure about the potential magnet-to-hard drive effects - there's still no definitive report on how a tiny magnet may affect the Nano's flash memory.

In all, it's slim, sturdy, and protects the Nano's screen and easily-scratched mirror back while still allowing access to controls and the headphone jack.

  • stylish and good protection
    By AQSDIZ5DZ77RY on 2008-03-28
This case looks great and fits easily in the pocket. As some reviewers noted, a slight drawback is that you do need to remove the ipod from the case to charge it, but it does slide out easily, when you open the flap. While in use, the ipod is securely in place, with access for cords, etc. The case is very sturdy and offers great protection. I have tried other cases and like this the most.

  • Does not have access to "all ports" - dock connector is obstructed
    By A2NU2ZCTW04RNY on 2008-03-11
it's a very nice and stylish case. i received it today and the first thing i noticed is that i will need to take it out of the case to sync it with my computer and to use it with my car's adapter. that's kind of annoying, but other than that it seems like a good buy.

  • a great fit
    By A2SO522F4S15D2 on 2008-03-24
its nice and snug, and stylish! its so much better looking than just the plastic sleeves that are out there.

  • Good iPod Case - Stylish & Functional
    By A7UA8QDN2A85N on 2008-05-02
I purchased this case for my iPod about 3 weeks ago and have found it to be well made, very functional and stylish as well. The case fits the iPod very well and provides good protection without adding a lot of bulk. I've been very happy with the case and would recommend it to others.

  • Exacly What I Needed
    By A76UE60ZDGG54 on 2008-05-27
After searching brick and mortar stores for a decent iPod Nano case, I couldn't find anything for less than $20. I checked on amazon and got this case for $10, and it is of greater quality than comparably priced and even more expensive cases. This case is really top notch. It's very stylish; my brother saw it and immediately commented on how fancy it looked.

    Pros:
    -Stylish
-iPod is removed easily when you need to charge
    -Magnetic flap is perfect
-adds minimum thickness to the iPod
-I was a little worried about the plastic screen because I heard other reviewers complain, but it is not a problem for me
-Price is right (purchased for $10)
    Cons:
-Can't access charger when ipod is in the case

  • Nice case, but docking port completely inaccessible
    By AVK09LGQTSX33 on 2008-08-04
I bought this case because I wanted something with a screen protector for my iPod. The case itself is rather nice, and closes magnetically (watch your credit cards around it). However, I discarded it rather quickly because I constantly had to remove it from the case to sync or charge it. I eventually went with a case which allowed lots of protection, but maintained access to the ports. If you don't mind taking it out of the case all the time, it's a nice buy, otherwise.

I'm particularly disappointed because they apparently designed the case for the classic with full port access.

And, agreeing with another review, it's brown, not black.

  • Nice Case, doen't Fit!
    By A5QYTKDEGFCL9 on 2008-08-09
Well made, but inside protective cover is too thick (interfers with finger angle to click wheel) and the Nano won't go in far enough to be centered.

Also comes with a vision distortion clear cover for the screen (sewn in), which is redundant because you have the case cover to protect it.

I like the design, it looks and feels nice, it just doesn't fit or work well.

The similar folio for the iTouch by Belkin fits perfectly. Disappointed.

  • Just one minor change.
    By A1I6FDCUQZESOU on 2008-10-01
I bought this for my mom, along with a silver Nano ipod. She loves both but I just wish the leather case would have a hole at the bottom for the cable of the ipod. Other than that, we've had no problem with it and I'd definitely recommend it!

  • Perfect case for Nano
    By A1YJ47A8HE9SBF on 2008-11-05
This case is perfect for Nano ipod. I love this design. The only recommendation, Belkin should improve it in such a way so that we do not need to remove it from the case everytime for charging.... rest everything is great!!!

  • Fits pretty well
    By A1ZZT9JBPKELUO on 2008-01-06
(This refers to the product itself, not a seller.)
I bought the pink version of this product and am pleased so far with the look and feel. My 3rd Gen nano fits in there fairly well, but does poke out the left side a little, causing the nano's wheel to be ever-so-slightly obstructed. It is still operable, however. I know that leather is hard and takes a little bit to wear in, so I've been squeezing it in order to make it softer.

The magnetic closure works well and keeps the little folio closed. The elastic pieces at top and bottom, which keep the nano in, also cover the bottom port, keeping it dust free. Those who wish to charge their ipod without taking out of its sleeve will be disappointed. Access to the headphone port and hold slider are unimpaired.

I'm a wearer of small purses so I was looking for something quite slim. This fits the bill pretty well. It has no belt clip so look elsewhere if that's what you need.

Overall I'm pleased and would recommend this to all. I only gave it a 4-star rating because I'd like the ipod to fit in the perfectly right off the bat. (Ocd I guess, what can I say ;)

  • Nice compact protection
    By A3LI57BGW2ZRI7 on 2008-02-08
Does just what I want it to--protects my iPod with out adding too much bulk. I've had it for about a month now, and just yesterday I fixed my main complaint about it; I took a razor knife and cut out the clear plastic that covers the screen. Now it's much easier to see the screen in bright surroundings without all the glare.

One tiny complaint: There is a little fabric "Belkin" tag sticking out the right side of the case (kind of like the "Levi" tag by the back pocket of your jeans). It's not cool. I'll probably end up cutting that off, too.

Bottom line: I'm very happy with it.

  • Excellent product
    By AEUV8CK9GE5BO on 2008-02-13
Before purchasing this item, I read other reviews and product descriptions. Both were very accurate as to the quality and function of this product . Not only does it provide protection for my Ipod, fully enclosed with a clear plastic cover over the display, it also looks great! The magnet in the flap is a nice detail. My Ipod Nano slips easily inside and has access for both the dock connector and headphones. A must buy.

  • Leather rules !
    By A1TRAX1US5SKUY on 2008-04-17
I did try few other cases for my Ipod but was impressed with this one mainly because of its leather material. Gives your Ipod a business touch. Would definitely recommend this one.

  • It's nice . . . but
    By A1IFSGC748AUSD on 2008-06-26
This is a nice product for protecting your iPod, but it's black AND brown. The description just says it's black.

  • Belkin folio for iPod nano
    By A1TKS0LQLIHEUW on 2008-07-06
I purchased the Belkin leather folio for the iPod nano through Amazon for $10.85 with free shipping on orders over $25. Local stores in the Raleigh, NC area sold the same thing for $19.95 to $22.00. It is a great case for a nano. The only drawback is that the iPod has to be removed from the case in order to charge it or download music.

  • Nice product
    By ANHMQ0MBIMQQN on 2008-07-06
I like this product. But it's not perfect as seen in the picture.

There is a gap between the screen protector and the touch pad through which dust can enter.

It closes perfect and the ipod fits in perfect.

  • Can't dock in this case.
    By A5ZDCKY2WLM73 on 2008-07-07
This is an attractive case that has been sitting empty most of the time because you have to remove it to dock the iPod.

    By A17IQJXU3VHLQ1 on 2008-07-12
This is a wonderful product. It keeps my ipod secure and safe from scratches in my purse. The only issue is that you cannot charge it from the case, though it is a minor issue for being such a great case. It is classy and secure. I would recommend this product to anyone.

  • Decent
    By A1LVNSH2J7Y8W1 on 2008-07-19
    Pro:
Nice case doing its job at protecting the iPod while looking very professional and stylish.

    Cons:
Need to take out the iPod every time when need to connect it to PC or charger. It will be nicer if Ican just leave my iPod in there forever.

Belkin Leather Folio Case for iPod nano 3G (Black)
This appears to be a good product. It does a good job in protecting the Nano. I feel comfortable sticking the Nano in one of pockets inside my purse. I wish it had chosen one with a belt clip though. I would recommend this product.
