Lots of Room in a Small Package

I bought this 4.0GB M2 memory stick to use in my new Sony Ericsson w580i Walkman phone. I've loaded about 850 songs so far and it works great. I've still got about 1.5GB of room left. What a great product at a really reasonable price. BTW - Sony Ericsson's website says the phone can handle up to a 2.0GB M2 card. They are incorrect. If you want more music on your phone, go with the bigger capacity card.
makes your Sony-Ericsson phone much more usable

When I received the M2, I put it into my W580i phone (I turned the phone off, inserted the card, and then turned it back on), and the memory stick was detected right away, no formatting needed. I transferred pictures from phone memory to the memory stick, and then connected the phone to my PC to download MP3s and podcasts. I was even able to download an audiobook that had been saved as an MP3. Using the Sony-Ericsson software to do the downloads and file transfers was very easy. I have been using the memory stick for a couple of weeks, and there was one glitch. Once, when I was using the phone, the card was suddenly not detected. I shut off the phone, removed and re-inserted the card, and turned the phone back on. The card was detected again. My only other "gripe" is that this is yet another memory card format for us beleaguered consumers. Having to get this memory card was my biggest concern when I upgraded my family cell phones a few months ago. We had already been using phones that accepted microSD cards, and microSD cards are extremely affordable nowadays. In comparison, M2 memory cards are rarely available at most stores, including electronics retailers such as Circuit City (which sells Verizon Wireless which doesn't use Sony-Ericsson phones). And retailers that do carry M2 cards (such as Radio Shack or Wal-Mart) have it priced much higher than microSD cards of the same capacity. Also, the M2 card is so far used only in S-E phones and nowhere else. Without the Pro Duo adapter, it would be a very limited-use card indeed. Now I may even attempt to shoot some video with this phone and card.

I use it with my Sony Ericsson W580i. The thing about these cards is there is very less chance for them to go wrong, and that makes it more compelling to buy it from online store like Amazon (if costing less than half of what it would in a store near you is not compelling enough). I got mine here at Amazon, but I think the order was serviced by Blue Proton. The card shipped quickly, and it works like a charm on my 580i. Lots of room for music and photos. After 4 months, it is yet to create any problem.
Contrary to what another reviewer mentioned here (which is why I am leaving this review), this does not come with a card *reader* (i.e. there is no USB card reader to use with your computer). It comes with an adapter to convert it to Memory Stick Pro type (a bigger variant of memory stick cards, typically used in cameras and camcorders), but thats all it has. If you plan to use it with your computer, you need a memory stick pro/memory stick micro (M2) card reader on your computer (USB reader or otherwise).

I have used it on my k810, its perfect for storing lots of videos or pics, the adapter included works well so it can be read on laptops and pc's that don't support m2 but support duo cards.

Got this for my Sony phone. Comes with an adapter which is very handy if you have a card reader. It's much more expensive in stores (e.g., $99 at Best Buy). Arrived quickly from Digital Media Source.

Sony does not say that your w300 phone will work with this 4g memory chip but it works great. The loading is slow, but the playback is great. I have had no problems in 3 weeks of use.

I bought this to use in my Sony Ericsson W580i Jungle Green Phone (AT&T), and I couldn't be happier. Wow. 4GB of storage, and I've used it for photos, video, and audio with great results.
My main reason for purchasing the extra memory was to be able to carry around the review/refresher/practice CDs (rendered into .mp4s) I obtained with Rosetta Stone V3: German, Level 1, 2 & 3, and this fits the bill perfectly.
Slap it into the card reader that comes with it and then into your computer, and read/write times are a flash. VERY happy with this product, and I saved more than half price -- compare Sony 4 GB Memory Stick Micro! Go SANDISK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this product on Jun 18 2008. After few days using, I saw it as a good product and I post my comment. However, I am very disappointed about it now. I used this product for my PSP Slim with Pro Duo Adapter. I tested it and the speed of writing/reading is not the thing manufacture tell that.
It's bad, just 6 MB/s read and 2 MB/s write in stead of 10/3.
And now I have problem that: I copied lots of music full of the capacity, I deleted it all and copied other things but my computer said that the memory stick is out of capacity. I can't copy anything after several times formating.
I bough it from Digital Media Source and it took me a week to received this product.
I removed my last feedback already because it's not good as it is.I post my new comment. I will not recommended my friend to buy it. Next time, I will try with the others.

Great price for 4 GB of memory. If you go to a store or other places on the web, it's selling for a lot more. I bought this for my Sony W850i phone. Inserted into the memory slot and used the Sony phone software to transfer mp3 files immediately. I might even sell my ipod since I've been using my W850i for music - one less gadget to carry!

I got my 4 GB M2 memory card today, and it worked really well. I loaded 130 songs out of my Itunes collection. Didn't use the Sony Ericsson W580i software that came with the phone, I used Mac OS X's finder, and just dragged and dropped onto the card, and it plays real well, and included the album art as well.
A great buy, especially from ChiTek, got mine in four days from NY to CA. If you wanna buy it, use ChiTek, there reliable.

This little stick is big when it comes to holding your files. I have thrown a bunch of music, pictures, and videos on it and still have a ton of room. In the last month I have not had any problems with it whatsoever nor with the adapter that it comes with so I can easily use it with a card reader.

Works perfectly with my SE z710i, which allows hot-swapping, so I may buy another. Great price. I don't have anything that reads the "pro duo" adapter so I haven't tested it out. For now, I connect the phone via USB and it seems to transfer fairly fast -- probably similar to USB flash drive speeds.

It works as it should and was relatively cheap (Memory Stick has always been more expensive tha competing, and IMO superior, technologies but that's the only thing my brothers cell phone takes). The only gripe is the adapter converts to MS Pro Duo rather than regular MS so I can't insert it into my laptop's reader.

This was a good price compared with other sources for the Memory Stick Micro. These memory sticks cost more than similar micro SD cards, however. Unfortunately Sony Ericsson phones only take the M2.

I ordered this 9 days ago, and I have yet to receive the item. I tracked the package, and found that it arrived at a shipping facility (from the place of origin) 7 days after I placed the order.
While the price on this M2 stick is great, don't hold your breath waiting for it to arrive... I hope it's worth the wait.

works good with my sony ericson w580i. if i drop the phoneit some times it stops reading the card. i have to restart it or clean the card with some alcohol. i blame it on the phone for being cheap and this is my 3rd one (due to dropping)
