Big Things Come IN Small Packages By A3LM9JC07E1Z5B on 2008-02-22
It really takes a lot to impress me but this little card really does the job. I bought it to use with my new Creative Zen player and it is great. Fast access and readily accepted by both my player and card reader. Not a problem to be had and yes it is value for the money.
Most likely will buy a couple more in the near future
Does the job in flash memory digital camcorder By A1IIAZKKZW9JKW on 2008-05-07
I was a little nervous buying an unfamiliar brand of SD card (this one is manufactured in Taiwan). But the results were good! My new camcorder (Canon VIXIA HF100 Flash Memory High Definition Camcorder with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom) requires a class 4 SDHC card or higher (this card is rated as class 6) and it works great. No need to spend more...
Speed grade may not be correct By A2IUYAM7VJI7O9 on 2008-08-02
Watch out! May be inferior product. I got a speed grade class 2 (slow) even though package says class 6 (fast).
I bought two of these A-DATA 16GB Turbo SDHC "Class 6" memory cards for my Canon Vixia HF-100 camcorder. I put them in (one at a time -duh) and the HF-100 reports one card as CLASS 6 -Yeah!, but the other as CLASS 2 -Boo!
A real disappointment for me as the HF-100 needs class 4 or better to record in FXP mode. I get a nasty popup on the view finder "Class 2 memory. Cannot record in FXP mode". Bummer!
I can't help but throw in the specutation on how they are able to get such a great cost and beat the competition: buy reducing quality, accepting more marginal parts in their test programs, and use tier II foundaries. There are lots of ways to cut cost in production, but in the end it comes to quality. I am certain that every part that leaves the factory is tested, that is normally how semiconductors are fabricated, so why then did the part I receive not meet spec? Surely it must be because the parts are marginal and they are not testing all corner cases. Certainly companies like SanDisk who have a much broader business at risk would not risk lowering quality standards to achieve short profit gains.
In conclusion, if you want a 16GB part and are willing to take some risk on performance (speed/integrity) this might be the part for you.
If you absolutely need Class 6, and cannot be bothered to ship things back when they don't work - like me, or are very concerned about data integrity, you may want to go with a more well known supplier who has an established qualty record and name to uphold.
I should rate this product a 1 because of the performance issues, but in the end I was able to use the slower speed part in my Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 camera and it works ok there (no speed grade requirement on that camera). So I manage to salvage a bad situation.
Now I am going to order another 16GB card. This time I will try Transcend. Ha! No they are not SanDisk! But the HF-100 recognized a Transcend 8GB card I had laying around as a class 6, so maybe the 16GB will be ok too. I know I am taking some risk with Transcend too, but I just can't bring myself to fork out the dough for SanDisk. After I loose all my vacation videos and pics I may reconsider my penny pinching tactics though -we'll see.
Update: the two Transcend 16GB parts were recognized my the HF-100 just fine
Wish I could give it ZERO stars. Defective on arrival By A30KO9VSROKOJT on 2007-10-31
Paid $63 plus shipping. Put it in new camera, and it displayed a CARD ERROR. Other SDHC cards worked perfectly in the camera. Tried the ADATA in another digital camera that accepts SDHC cards and also got a CARD ERROR message. Would not respond to a format command either. Didn't show up when I put it in a USB attached SDHC card reader on the computer.
Perhaps some people had better luck, but the company obviously doesn't test these cards before they send them out.
It is a very nice product ..but is slow By A359GJHGL0KHQ6 on 2007-07-24
I bought this SD card to use in my D80 Nikon SLR Camera. I took 3 shoots and the card is slow....just a little bit. I swap to my other card , Sandisk Extreme III, 2 GB...and the Sandisk performance is much better. I do not agree with other customer opnion because is very clear at description that card is SD HC (high capacity) and it is not compatible with a lot of equipaments...i going to try to use it ...and i hope that card increase the write velocity....
- DO NOT BUY
     By A2T2X38RK1JYX3 on 2007-12-05
I popped the SD card into my brand new Canon S5 IS and started snapping. After 20 shots, the SD card failed and was unreadable in the camera. Attempts to format failed as well as the card was unresponsive.
I have sinced purchased two SanDisk 2gb Ultra II SD cards and am very pleased with their speed, consistency, and reliability.
It's partly my fault for going for the lowest priced Class 6 SDHC card. But for the card to fail so quickly and readily was a huge surprise.

- Excellent card with fair OS support
     By A3OF3GM0DKWBSW on 2008-06-18
So far so good...have tested on my N800, Kodak V1233 720p video camera, Toughbook 52 (XP SP3) and TX1400 TabletPC (Vista). I didn't rate it 5 stars only because I haven't tested the card for long and haven't maxed it out yet....plus it doesn't work on my primary computer a ST5111 TabletPC (XP SP3). I don't blame the card manuf...rather Microsoft for this problem.
Update: I downloaded Fujitsu SD reader patch for my ST5111 and it works there now too! Therefore I would give this 5 stars. Works with all my stuff.
- Great!
     By A19H3MJR9PK9C on 2008-05-20
Works great with my HDC-SD9 flash based high-def camcorder. I was a bit worried due to the price of the card, but have been pleasantly surprised. I'm planning on buying another card soon.
- Buyer beware
     By AVAJTV1FJMERQ on 2007-07-12
First I must say, the item probably works just fine, but for a non-techie like myself, SD, means, SD. I had no idea that SDHC is not at all compatible with SD. I opened the package, and began to format the card, it froze my computer numerous times. My complaint is, no where on this web site regarding SDHC does it mention it's compatibility. Also, Hitech, the affiliate of Amazon, has been slow to respond to issue an RA number.
- Works as it should
     By A29NGGJ5P04BTF on 2007-09-01
It's a memory card, and sure, it does its job. I bought it for my Cowon D2, and it worked seamlessly with it. I got no problems after having it for 3 days. What more can I say? It works as it should.
- Slow
     By A26BW62N3OXJLH on 2007-12-10
This class 6 rated SDHC card is much slower than my other cards. Campared to Transcend 4gb 150x SD and Sandisk Ultra CF, this card takes 2-3 times as long to write. Tested in 2 different card readers, same overall result.
- ReadyBoost Ready
     By A1DRO0AQR4CZIK on 2008-02-02
Formatted the drive as FAT32 (using 4KB sectors), and works like a charm. See below for actual speeds (using DELL Inspiron 1420)
The device (Unknown Unknown) is suitable for a ReadyBoost cache.
The recommended cache size is 3823616 KB.
The random read speed is 6446 KB/sec.
The sequential write speed is 3028 KB/sec.
- It works
     By A1LAOO265QZHEF on 2008-05-18
At this rock bottom price, the only issue is, does it work? Yes it does (with my Cowon D2 2gb). What to do with this ridiculous amount of flash storage? Not sure (unless some fair use exceptions are put in the dcma - now, I'd vote for anybody who'd promise THAT!).
- Great CARD
     By A2S6JDQ3WQCEW0 on 2008-05-22
I use it in my Panasonic HDC-SD5. Filled it up and cleared it several times and it works great. All my recording is HD and large files. So far so good!!! I also never take it out of the camcorder. I transfer all my stuff through USB to my mac.
- Does not work with Canon SD870 IS
     By A3SNKQ2MSKUYOD on 2008-06-06
I just bought this card and it does not work in my Powershot 870IS. I keep getting a "Memory Card Error". The camera manual says it supports SDHC cards.... go figure.
- Beware - this is the slowest SDHC card out there - too slow for many digital cameras!!!
     By A2PMR2PIGWKCQ9 on 2008-02-19
Too slow for hi-def video. I have a much older 2gb SD card which is much faster than this supposedly class 6 SDHC card - I really find it hard to believe that it can read or write at 6mbps or higher. Complete waste of money.
- best write speed sdhc card for the money!
     By A28U3NKSNRFHH7 on 2008-03-10
This is a sdhc card, which requires sdhc card reader to use it at it's capable speed. My dell laptop 5in1 reader is able to read & write on this card but at 1/3 of the allowable speed. When using a 150X usb sdhc card reader, this a-data 4GB class 6 turbo sdhc card was able to write at 10mb/s and read at 15mb/s. The most class 6 sdhc cards barely can write 6.5mb/s as the maximum which is minimum performance guaranteed by the class 6 sdhc cards. When being compared to Transcend 4GB class 6 sdhc card, which allows 6.5mb/s write & 20mb/s read, I would still prefer the a-data card with 10mb/s write speed. I use both of the cards on my pentax k10d and faster write speed (10 mb/s vs. 6.5mb/s) is more preferable than the faster read speed. (15mb/s vs. 20mb/s)
- Far exceeds my expectations!
     By A3AKJGEZM5L1M2 on 2008-05-22
Can't believe the price, about half the price of similar products from better-known makers. Works perfectly with all of my SDHC devices. A-data is also a reputable Taiwanese manufacturer of flash memory.
Completely satisfied! Can't wait for the 32GB version to come out.
- Questionable QC - Not worth the gamble
     By A31E98RNXH473T on 2008-05-31
Prior to purchasing, I had read glowing reviews regarding the speed and value. I also happened to see a couple users that warned about corrupted data. Due to the attractive price, I bought two of these cards. After using them, both reviews are correct. The cards are very fast AND prone to corruption (at least one of the cards that I have).
After shooting over 100 pics one day on vacation in Maui, the data became corrupted and could not access any of the images through the camera or computer. Fortunately I had some data rescue software (RescuePro, rec'd free with a SanDisk III Extreme card) that was able to retrieve all but one image but what a headache (and anxiety!).
As attractive as the price is, I will not buy it again. Even if another card may cost a few dollars more...it is worth it. If you persist in buying this card, then invest in some good data recovery software because you will likely be using it.
- Can only use 1GB of 8GB card!?!
     By A3S3XWVCO7WT9Y on 2008-08-14
This card would not work to capacity in my Panasonic HD camcorder, or any other camcorder that requires sdhc. I would get about 1 GB of video on the card and then I would get errors on 3 different HD camcorders! I sent it in for warranty and magically, ADATA lost it. They make horrible products and then their service BLOWS! Don't buy anything from these guys!
- Doesn't work for long!
     By A3FS1U6GGWP8AS on 2007-09-16
I bought the 4GB version of this card for my new Kodak Z1275. It worked great at first - I could take over 1000 12mpx shots....but then for no reason I noticed my count changed to like 85. I took the disk home and put it in my computer - It shows two things: 1) there is nothing on the disk - all files have been removed 2) there is only 8% capacity left.
I have NO idea what happened....but now it's worthless..
- Died in 2 weeks
     By A3ICBXHTTM02QX on 2007-12-31
I used this card in my Panasonic HDC-SD5 camcorder for a week for testing before the Christmas party. It worked fine for that week, but saddly it started to give error during recording at the party on tripod mount. I turned off the camcorder and turned it back on, the camcorder says "Reparing Data", and after a minute it starts to record for few seconds and then "Card Error" appears again. After that, the card complete died on me. The card now doesn't read by usb card reader anymore. I tested the camcorder with Sandisk card and worked fine but as soon as I popped this one in, "Card Error" appears and wouldn't record. Its life span was only a little more than a week. I wish A-Data has better quality control before releasing this to the public. Should've spend more money to get a better card. The money saved wasn't worth the video lost. Lesson learned.
- A-Data products are GARBAGE, especially this one
     By A13FEDHMM5811G on 2008-03-30
I foolishly purchased this A-Data Turbo SD SDHC 4GB Class 6 Memory Card for use in my Nikon D40x DSLR camera, which specifically uses SDHC cards. I've used SDHC cards from several manufacturers in this camera, and all EXCEPT this A-Data GARBAGE, have performed flawlessly during over 6000 images, without even a single lost image.
The first time I used this A-Data GARBAGE, as I suddenly approached my 270th image, this A-Data Turbo SD SDHC 4GB Class 6 Memory Card suddenly lost the previous 10 images that I took. I ALWAYS format my SDHC cards inside the actual device that they will be performing with. Under the chance that I may have forgotten this time, since this was after all the first time I had used this A-Data card, I formatted it again inside the camera, twice to make extra sure.
The second time I used this A-Data GARBAGE, after I took my 26th image, my camera said that this A-Data Turbo SD SDHC 4GB Class 6 Memory Card was FULL. I always get about 270 images with a SDHC card, so I was shocked. When I later uploaded my 26 images directly to my PC from my camera, they only took up 286MB, so where was the other 3.7GB I thought? After placing this A-Data Turbo SD SDHC 4GB Class 6 Memory Card in a SDHC card reader, I found 3.7GB of GARBAGE folders and files.
The third, and LAST time I used this A-Data GARBAGE, after formatting it inside the camera, when I took my 65th image, the previous 64 images suddenly disappeared. Again, when I later attempted to read the card, it contained ONLY the last image I took, except this time it contained 3.9GB of GARBAGE folders and files.
After A-Data's refusal to reply to my several emails regarding this "Lifetime Warranty" product, I started searching online for other A-Data customer reviews and I discovered nothing but other horror stories about this A-Data GARBAGE, and most retailers are now totally dropping the A-Data product line.
I'm about to file a complaint with our Federal Commerce Department and our Federal Justice Department, since I strongly feel that this Chinese GARBAGE from A-Data should be banned from being imported into the United States.

I received my A-DATA 16 GB SDHC card, and it works excellent with my Panasonic HDC-SD9 High Definition Camcorder. At the highest quality, I can get a little over 2 hours of High Definition video. The recording and playback works fine, and it does what it's supposed to do, for a very good price. I didn't format it, as it's already formatted, so I won't take a chance and possibly mess it up, but you never know, it might still work if I were to format it. But I won't, I have to do a Wedding soon, so I will wait till after the Wedding is done.
It's worth getting.
Derek.
- You might want to pay more for a different brand.
     By A35HOFCWP2E75P on 2008-07-14
Purchased 2 of these for my Canon AVCHD Vixia HF100. One of the cards works fine (so far) but the other doesn't work at all with this camcorder. I get an error message on the LCD camcorder screen, "Check Card!" It's a shame I was in the middle of my (Alaska) vacation when this occurred. The price is right but there's a bit of a gamble here.
- Super fast and no problems
     By A2V5YMUXFDW7O on 2007-12-09
I put this card in a recently purchased Nikon D40x. The card works great. I love how fast it transfers pictures from the card to the PC. I can copy 4mg pictures from the card to my pc faster than my old 2gb card could copy 900kb pictures.
For the price, and the excellent performance I don't see how you could go wrong.
- A Must Buy
     By APLIUKVLKGMEU on 2008-01-05
I recently purchased this card for my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3K. This is a fantastic product. It performs much better than expected. Despite the bad reviews you may find on the internet, transfers between the card and my pc are fast and painless as are any write times or load times on the camera itself.
I am very glad I purchased this card rather than a vastly more expensive alternative that would offer the same performance. This card comes with a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer, so any defective card you may receive could be replaced.
- Great value

This 4 GB SD Card is a steal ! works excellent in my camcorder.
- Works great (tested with Canon VIXIA HF100 and Nikon D40x).
     By A30UIZJMFL9PLT on 2008-06-19
Not much to say about this card, except that the card was well-packaged, offers the capacity advertised, and works in the two devices I tested: the Canon VIXIA HF100 and the Nikon D40x.
The truth is that I rarely take out and handle my SDHC cards since I hook up the camera via USB to my Mac ... so this helped to overcome the skepticism I had given the low price and "off-brand" name.
- Warning! Warning! Compatibility issues!
     By A28BX3MM90A6FI on 2008-06-23
I bought a 16 gb class 6 turbo SD card from Amazon. The listing did NOT mention there might be serious compatibility issues. Be sure to check [...]
I purchased the 16 gb SD card for my Palm TX to load movies and e-books for a trip, only to find it didn't work on that device. I kept the card anyway--figure it will work in one of my cameras or other toys. Still, it is annoying there was no up front warning.
