Nice Stats but a number of things not working

The good: I give it a 3.5 because of the decent picture capability. I looked around a lot and the specs/price led me to the photo frame. Have not looked at it side by side other brands but looks nice with the 1024 * 730 pixel capability. The multiple frame capability works nice and allows random fades within each frame. It accidentally (I am guessing) came with a hi density 4 Meg Mem Card but it did not work with any of my computers to xfer photos. This is a Christmas present so I had to steal my 1 meg card from my camera and start loading. Using a conversion program I converted all the candidate photos to 1024 * 730ish and wow a 1 gig card holds about 2500 pics plus. THE BAD Typical made in China (not like we have a choice to buy from somewhere else these days). This one has problems but is a not as bad as many China made products. Even the box and manual was full of broken English. Anyway the factory box came in an outer Generic box with no padding leaving it to flop around in travel. The inner box was a little crumpled but no damage to the product. The unit looks good with its 1 inch thick or so Plexiglas frame that is lit by LEDs. Although you are suppose to be able to control the Led Lights with different colors and flashing, all I could get it to do was flash a rapidly changing and annoying disco pattern. The manual said nothing how to change the frame color or sequence so after about 10 seconds of looking at the led frame I just turned off the lights. Other problems included the TFT display being crooked about 3 degrees. Not horrible but a bit distracting from a symmetry point of view. While the photo functions worked great the Video and MP3 only partially worked. It would play a video or song as if it did not have enough CPU power and skipped or stopped. Also the clock does not keep time at all. BOTTOM LINE: It has great specs and capabilities but many do not work. Frustrating. This was a last minute gift so I loaded the memory with family pics and sent to my Parents. I am guessing it might be a return.
