doesn't work! By A3HSOYVTIQSFVL on 2008-02-19
Followed the directions carefully to hang a small towel bar just like the picture shows on the package. Within 5 minutes everything crashed to the floor. So I started over, even taped the towel bar in place for extra support. Waited 24 hours to remove the tape, instant crash to the floor. This stuff doesn't work, AND they give you one glove, not 2, for those of us with sensitive skin. It is hard to knead with just one hand.
MIGHTY JIP! By A3G751BY7OO52K on 2008-02-23
I work for a mechanical contractor and can tell you that this stuff is exactly like something called "thumb gum". it can seal basic things like out door electrical connections or small holes in concrete, but to count on it to hold things to the wall or water under pressure? come on!
look in consumer reports, they do a article on this guy. his products are a joke. i think he's vying to become the milky way galaxy's representative for the Douche Bag of the Universe Award!
It does not stick to anything I have tried so far. By AJ53AQLFUSYBV on 2008-02-16
I tried to hang a small light weight piece of wood shelf to the inside of a cabinet and it would not work. I also tried to re-attach a ceramic pices from a cookie car lid and it would not work. I want to send it back. Can you help me do this nad get me my money back? Do you provide free shipping?
Still waiting By AHONMX0O3P92H on 2008-02-13
I am still waiting on this product. I ordered this about 2 months ago. I have emailed customer service at least 4 times and have gotten no response. I called customer service and after finally waiting 1/2 hour I talked to a rep and she found the order but had no idea when it would be sent. It would be hard for me to recommend a product that has no customer service or follow thru. I will now go to my local home improvement store and find a substitute. If you need someting right away don't order this product.
Has anyone actually recieved this stuff? By A2G2BT8RSN5WFW on 2008-03-25
I'm giving this product zero stars, since the company charged my credit card but never sent the item. I ordered back in early January, but as of March still haven't received it, so had my credit card issuer cancel the charge.
Tried calling the company, but got tired of waiting on hold. Tried emailing them, but they never responded.
Why doesn't the FTC do something about companies that advertise products with no intention of delivering them?
Phooey on you, Billy Mays!
- Does mighty putty work?
     By A31XK6QKJATRSE on 2008-07-09
I just got mighty putty for almost $30 to see if it really works. Mighty putty smells terrible. Billy Mays saids that the putty simplies turn from green to white. It takes 20 minutes for the putty to turn from green to white. Billy Mays saids that it can support up to 350 pounds. I used the putty to fix 1 board in my bookshelf, and after 30 minutes, I put books on it that weighed 100 pounds in total, and the board fell. Billy Mays said that you can make a cup handle out of mighty putty. I broke a cup handle, made a new handle with the putty, waited for 30 minutes, filled the cup up, and the putty handle broke off. The only thing mighty putty can do is cover up a leak. Billy Mays saids that you can pull a truck with mighty putty. It can't even pull an SUV after drying for 1 day. The results are...MIGHTY PUTTY DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- The Mighty Hath Fallen

I've never had a reason not to trust Billy Mays - the friendly, shouting, bearded man in the blue shirt. After all, he didn't steer me wrong with OxiClean or Orange Glo, so why would Mighty Putty be any different?
My wife's constant violent outbursts often left our home in shambles. Between the broken lamps and cracked coffee mugs, I'm amazed our trailer is still standing.
When I first saw the commercial for Mighty Putty on the TV I was skeptical of its claims that it bonded to everything from glass to concrete. I mean, come on! But with our tub of Elmer's Glue proving to be ineffective, I was willing to try anything.
I placed my order with Amazon, and as promised the package of Mighty Putty arrived in less than a week.
One morning while my wife was passed out I decided to begin the repair work. I started out small - my American Idol coffee mug that my wife had broken the handle off of after I told her we were out of Coffee-Mate.
The Mighty Putty directions are simple: Cut, activate and repair!
When you take the Mighty Putty out of the tube it kind of looks like a long piece of Hubba Bubba (the kind with the watermelon center). I cut the putty fairly easily with a butter knife and began to kneed it in my hands. My sweaty hands made the product very slippery and hard to handle, but I managed.
Using my best ceramics skills I molded the putty into the shape of a coffee mug handle and attached it to the mug. I waited 24-hours for it to dry (just to be safe), then I tested out the mug the following morning.
I lifted the mug by the new Magic Putty handle and it broke right off, sending the mug down onto the table. Coffee spilled everywhere and my wife started breaking things again.
Over the next couple of weeks I successfully used Magic Putty to repair other items around the house, but my coffee mug remains handle-less.
Because of this I can only give Magic Putty an average rating, but if you don't have sweaty hands you might have better luck than I did.
- Pretty good bondage
     By A1C83602BW1EEC on 2008-05-13
I got a tube of this stuff from my mom to fix my 2 foot long towel rack at my apartment. It cracked in half when i accidentally leaned on it in the middle of the night while going to the bathroom. I tried other epoxy products which didn't work, but this mended the rack and has been supporting 3 towels for the past several months. I recently leaned on the rack again and it started to crack, so i'm going to buy more.
- Smelled like sewage
     By AFJLYJYF8DVOD on 2008-05-15
I tried to use this product to repair my coffee table. I never got far enough to see if my table would actually stay together because the putty smelled like sewage. It was so strong my entire living room started to smell. In the end, I pitched the broken coffee table and the rest of the putty. (*Note I purchased the putty from Walmart)
- Mighty Putty - smelly but worked for the items I have fixed.
     By ANVVDO4EZNLW1 on 2008-06-05
First of all, don't order it, you can purchase at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond for 9.99. If you must order, go to e-bay and order from a reputable source.
Oh ya, the stuff stinks, but only until it is dry - open a window while using. They only give you one glove - so, I cut off a small amount and put it into a baggie, closed the bag and kneaded until well blended. This worked better than the glove approach, as I have severe arthritis.
I bought this originally to fix a leg on an antique vanity stool that my husband was supposed to weld back together 2 years ago. I was shocked, as the putty began working within minutes. You need to use more putty than you think to secure the pieces together - or whatever you are mending. Once it is dry, sand it to the desired shape/size and paint over to hide.
I used the putty to bond 3 separate places on the U shaped detatched leg --secured each place with painters tape while it dried. Once the putty was completely dry - about 1 hour - the stool withheld my weight -- 124 lbs., and the smell dissappeared as it dried. (So, don't be discouraged by the smell -- all weld bonds stink.)
I then repaired the wooden leg of our t.v. tray stand, a wrought iron clock that had fallen off the wall and come unsoldered. (Guess I should have hung it with a specialty wall hook advertised on t.v. too!)
Now I'm on the hunt for other broken items in the house before the opened tube goes dry!!
The stuff is amazing. I have not tried to hang anything on the wall yet, but am thinking of adhering soapstone tiles to the wall as little shelves in the shower. I have no doubt that it will work well there as well!
I am 100% impressed with the stuff. For me, it worked better than JB Weld!
