  This is by far the best home/office shredder on the market at present! Fellows have engineered this unit for the home/office area.This shredder chews plastic,staples(normal) and 12 sheets of paper without effort.A simple frontal pull-out bin is a breeze to empty and has a great safety feature that powers down the unit when the pull-out bin is opened,a window on the pull-out bin allows you to view the waste level without opening the bin.There is a "safe sense" diode that warns you when your hands being close to the paper feed slot.The confetti cut appears to be best compared to other shredders.To move the unit around when cleaning a handy built-in recess grip on the top make it easy to pick-up and carry safely.The only adverse comment refers to the On/Auto/Off switch enclosure,it is difficult slide it,but once again this may be a boon in a household with small children.In all, after checking out 5 to 6 shredders in this confusing market the Fellows unit stands out in the under $80.range.You can find this unit being sold at membership warehouses near you.I am very pleased with 5 yr.limited warranty on the cutting blades and 1 year on materials and workmanship with a large, reputable firm like Fellows that has been in this market for a long time.

  I looked at lots of reviews before deciding on this shredder. Here are my first impressions after a day of use. It has a solid feeling as the result of the one piece body. The waste basket slides into the body. In some reviews there were complaints about the basket capacity. I have not found this to be an issue. I shredded a fair amount of paper in my first use and its capacity was fine for my light office use. There were also complaints about the basket being hard to remove if you allow it to overfill. I haven't experienced this but by its design I can imagine that might be true. The shredder easily shredded 8 pages of fairly heavy copier paper I haven't tried more than that yet but it is rated at 12 pages. One reviewer mentioned they did not like the proximity safety shutoff feature. This hasn't bothered me and there is a switch on the side to disable the feature. The on/off switch is a bit stiff but not unreasonably so and like the other reviewer infered is probably that way on purpose. I am pleased with this shredder. The unit is quieter and shreds more pages than my prior shredder would have handled. I gave this 4 stars only because I don't have means to assess durability yet.
