You'll be able to perform multiple tasks such as digital rendering and gaming all while running virus scan or other background tasks seamlessly thanks to the innovative Direct Connect Architecture. And the AMD Digital Media XPress technology delivers stellar multimedia performance and playback on digital entertainment such as games, streaming video and audio, DVDs, and music.
Each processing core has a 512 KB L2 cache (for a 1 MB total), and this processor can deliver up to a 1600 MHz system bus for lightning quick computing reflexes. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance. The FSB carries data between the CPU and RAM, and a faster front-side bus will deliver better overall performance.) - Hard Drive: The 250 GB Serial ATA hard drive is more than double the average size for notebook PCs, and it offers a fast 5400 RPM disk speed--an improvement over other notebooks with extra-large hard drives. It provides more than enough capacity for storing documents, digital media files, and video editing software. This SATA hard drive also quickens the pace with a higher speed transfer of data--akin to FireWire and USB 2.0.
- Memory: The 2 GB of installed RAM (2 x 1024 MB DDR2) is an excellent start, but this notebook's two DIMM slots have a maximum 4 GB RAM capacity--perfect for high-end video editing and 3-D gaming.
- DVD/CD Drive: This multiformat DVD/CD drive is compatible with writing both DVD+ and DVD- disc formats as well as dual-layer (DL) DVD+/-R discs, which can store up to 8.5 GB of data. It features 4x DVD-R DL Write Once, 2.4x DVD+R DL Write Once, 8x DVD+R, 4x DVD+RW, 8x DVD-R, 4x DVD-RW, 16x DVD-ROM, 40x CD-R, 24x CD-RW, and 40x CD-ROM speeds.
This LightScribe DVD±RW drive lets you laser-etch silkscreen quality text and images on to CDs and DVDs . Your software, PC and discs work together for a no-hassle way to burn just the labels you want. After you burn content, just flip the disc over, reinsert and burn your label--anything from a simple title to a full-disc work of art. - Keyboard & Mouse: This notebook has a 101-key keyboard and a touchpad with on/off button and dedicated vertical/horizontal Scroll Up/Down pad. It also includes two quick-launch buttons (HP QuickPlay Music and DVD).
Screen, Video & Audio You'll enjoy razor-sharp graphics and widescreen movies with the 15.4-inch WXGA high-definition screen, which displays an 18 percent larger picture than standard 15-inch screens and an improved contrast ratio. It has a widescreen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels--perfect for watching DVD movies the way they were meant to be seen. Video is powered by the integrated Nvidia GeForce Go 7150M graphics/video card, which provides up to 799 MB of total graphics memory as allocated by Windows Vista. It features NVidia's PureVideo technology--which provides great picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color, and precise image scaling for video content--and full support for Microsoft DirectX 9.0 for stunningly realistic cinematic effects for all DirectX-compatible applications. The Altec Lansing speakers provide exceptional sound, and a pair of stereo earbud headphones with volume controls is included. You'll be able to privately share enjoyment of multimedia with a friend via the dual headphone jacks. Excellent notebook!!!! By A15BOKH9OU7SAD on 2008-01-15
I just purchased this note book and love it. Between the 3gb of ram, GeForce 8400 256mb video card and 250 gb hard drive, who could ask for more. You have a high definition screen and a duo core intel processor. I've seen no laptop with this much hardware for such a low price.
I use this notebook at work and for a litte internet game play. With the GeForce 8400 256mb video card both run smooth as silk.
Whether you are looking for a gaming laptop or a strong personal/business laptop, this is the one for you.
HP DV67XX - A Nice Update to the DV6000 Notebook Lineup By A17BUUBOU0598B on 2008-04-17
HP Pavilion DV6725US 15.4" Entertainment Laptop (AMD Turion 64 X 2 Dual Core TL-60 Processor, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium)
The HP DV6700 line of notebooks is an update to the DV6000 line. There are currently 7 base models and perhaps a few more on the way. Chip wise these are based on either the Intel Core 2 Duo or the AMD Turion 64 X2. I have owned both the DV6725 and the DV6415 from one of the previous generations HP Pavilion DV6415US 15.4" Notebook PC (Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2130, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium). This is a very nice design that was priced right for the market. The included features are great on both Intel and AMD versions. If you want the larger 17 inch screen you will have to step up to the 9700 HP Pavilion DV9720US 17.0" Entertainment Laptop (AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core TL-60 Processor, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium). There are few concerns, but overall this is a winner.
There is some confusion created because the reviews for all the various models have been collected here. Just keep that in mind. Most of what I have to say is not processor specific and applies to virtually all the models in this 6700 grouping.
Pros
+ Nice price for a great notebook with many features
+ Included Altec Lansing speaker produces nice sound for a notebook
+ Nice included expansion ports including S-Video, VGA, USB2.0, Firewire, LAN and modem
+ Nice memory card reader and IR port, which users have come to expect
+ Works well with included Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate
+ Cool electrostatic buttons for quick play features above the keyboard
+ Serviceable mouse touch pad
+ Wireless a/b/g, with front button to disable or enable
+ Awesome included windows mobile remote slides away into laptop body!
+ New sleek, shiny, thinner body made of black composite material
+ Nice DVD/CD dual-layer burner
+ Nice wide screen is adequate for mobile use or home use
+ Nice sized included 160 GB SATA hard drive; 200 and 250 GB configs available
+ Microphone and webcam integrated into monitor screen
+ Decent RAM sizes ranging from 2 to 4 GB.
+ Included HP software will help novice users with dashboards and alerts; can be disabled
+ Nice multimedia controls above the keypad allow for easy adjustment
Cons
- Only Vista Premium, when Vista Ultimate would have been ideal
- Common Issue: only 32 bit versions of windows included, under-using dual core chips
- Memory expansion limited to 4GB
- No easy way to add an internal hard drive
- Display still draws a lot of power, with more efficient models on the horizon
- Battery life leaves much to be desired, topping out at 1-3 hours for most unplugged users
- Some power issues may require you to frequently reseat your cord or battery
- New shiny body attracts fingerprints and dust, may not appeal to everyone
- Like most HP laptops, video card shares memory with RAM, limiting the RAM for your OS
- Power cord connection a little to close to right USB port, making most USB mice cramped
- Ethernet only 10/100 when the market is going to 1000 Gig-E
- No included wireless-N or EVDO
- HP's customer service reputation has been suffering with higher than normal failure rates
Installation is very smooth, a well designed process with the usual kind of included instructions. If you're like me you'll want to take the time to remove a lot of the unnecessary software trials included here. Just one word of caution, it's very difficult to change your main hard drive in Vista, so even if you multi-boot like me avoid the temptation to partition the main system drive too much.
There are some quirky aspects of Vista, so you can configure how you want your power saving modes like Sleep and Hibernate to work. Keep it simple: avoid the Sleep mode and only use hibernate. You'll save yourself some headaches that way.
At least Windows Media Center is included with Vista Premium. The should have included a lot more, including wireless N and Vista Ultimate. This came out at the end of 2007 after all. Perhaps in the next version.
Perhaps most disturbing are the growing number of people who have had support issues with HP. Unfortunately, I can tell you from experience as somebody who buys a lot of notebook computers that this is an industry wide problem. There really isn't an all around better alternative than HP so you have to pick your models carefully. Hopefully they've worked out the kinks from the previous generation of this product.
As for me, despite some minor issues I've been satisfied with both of my HP models, this one included. For home use, its ideal. I am waiting for the prices to drop a little further before I step up to my next one.
Enjoy!
Beauty & Brains... By A3BEVRVOSWU11J on 2008-03-04
Love, love, love it! After three Sony Vaio laptops, I decided to branch out a little and I am so glad that I did! Not to knock Sony or anything, it's just that now I see that there are just as good options (if not better) for as good or better pricing.
Now on to more 'technical' stuff. This laptop is very fast and runs the entire Adobe CS3 Master collection at warp speed! Amost as fast as my desktop. (I had flash, illustrator, phtoshop & dreamweaver all open at once and alternated between them for almost an hour and it never missed a beat or froze up once!)
Vista still irritates me a bit but I am going to be a little more patient with it than I was with my desktop (I ended up loading XP pro after 3 days) because I use the laptop a lot less for work type stuff. But just because Vista is annoying at times, I wasn't going to ding the laptop on it.
PLUS...it's beautiful! Gives you that Apple style and look with all the familiarity of Windows.
So all in all, I am very satisfied with the purchase. Even if you do heavy design or video editing etc, this machine can definitely handle it.
HP's Technical Support is beyond FRUSTRATING! By A22U8OK7YKD0ZJ on 2008-02-22
I purchased this HP Pavilion and spoke with Technical support EIGHT TIMES! I also bought the xb3000 expansion base. The whole thing was working relatively well, (except for the DVD player), until the computer stopped working compatibly with the expansion base. I spoke with techies from India, Philipines, apparently Mexico, and Canada. With the exception of the Canadian, it was obvious they were all operating from a script and had no idea what they were talking about. I was bounced around. I was told the base was faulty, returned it and told the second one was also faulty. The Canadian said he'd call back within a half hour 2 days ago, and never called. Unacceptable, and a huge inconvenience as I use my computer for my business, and have all my files/settings on it now. I was told to run a system recovery (meaning relaoding all my files), because my HP Advisor was not working properly and they couldn't give me a way to simply reload just that. I am truly amazed.
Very disappointing By A3L8JXDS8H0NV2 on 2008-03-04
I ordered this PC and was very disappointed to find that when I first attempted to turn it on it appeared as though the operating system was missing. I could not even power it up. I received an error message that referred me to HP. When I called HP, they indicated that they did not provide support for this item anymore and referred me to a service provider who could service the PC if I'd like. Definitely not acceptable for a brand new item. I returned it. I can say that Amazon, as always, handled the return w/o a problem.
- One of the best laptops I've ever used!!
     By A2PVNMB0T10WDF on 2008-01-27
I recently purchased this laptop and it is everything I needed in a notebook. It comes accommodated with all the features I need, and the price I purchased it for was very modest. For me this computer was great for all my needs. Plus, it has best quality screen, and the webcam quality is phenomenal. It runs so smoothly and I would recommend this laptop to anyone in the market for one!!
- Very pleased!
     By A235XTT4THIVFA on 2008-02-07
Amazing computer. I'm incredibly happy with this product. The price is rediculously cheap for what comes in this computer, and I shopped around extensively before making my purchase. Anything is a step up from my last Dell laptop, but this HP truly exceeded my expectations with it's style and specks. This computer has way more space and memory than I probably need, and yet it was CHEAPER than some of the other computers with less to offer, so buying it was a no-brainer! I recommend this for everyone. :)
- Mostly Satisfied!
     By A1XAKFU9VDKU5K on 2008-02-15
I am mostly satisfied by this laptop. Especially loved its looks. Absolutely soothing to touch. No cold metal, no cheap plastic. There was no problem connecting to the wireless network either.
Some (minor) things which I didnt like are:
- i didnt get an option to go for the matt finish screen. I personally dont prefer glossy screens. Also I felt the viewing angle to be low in the LCD panel
- i also didnt like the fact that it had a huge hard disk (250GB) but only one partition!! I cannot imagine how the performance will not be impacted with the mess of fragmented data and windows page files and all my documents that accumulates over time in that one huge partition. i managed to partition it myself, but it was an added incovienience
Apart from tht, it is really cool. the bundled, DVD writer and the youCam software are useful and interesting. Microsoft Works is one software wch i found thoroughly useless but i cud not let myself not buy it along with the laptop
- Don't buy into the HP hype...Dell PCs are still better
     By A1NMZHW99K5LPN on 2008-01-12
Buy a Dell. Hp is good, but if you play 3D games, edit video/images, or run large programs, the Dell Inspiron is the way to go. I own the dv6707us and there are no problems, but there's not too much to boast about either. It's a plain pc with some asthetic features.
Don't get me wrong, I recommend this PC to simple internet and Email users, but if that is all you do, the dv6707us is too expensive.
Your best option is to configure your own PC based upon your personal needs. That way, you can guarantee yourself that you will not be disappointed. If you don't know what parts to include, ask someone who does. Also, it is a good idea to own a desktop computer and not just a laptop. Desktop PCs are easy to upgrade and are very reliable.
- Good value for money
     By A3AFPQWM1RGSDE on 2008-04-03
This particular laptop model is a good value for your money (March 2008 when I purchased it). I spent some time shopping around for a laptop to replace my desktop at a reasonable price, and this model was the winner. It has a faster AMD dual core processor than comparable models (TL-62 at 2.1 GHz). Similar priced laptops most likely give you the AMD model below (the slower TL-60). If you prefer Intel processors, you'll pay a premium as most laptops at this price range give you an Intel Duo Core T5450 which runs at a slower 1.7 GHz. If you want a 2.0 GHz processor, you have to upgrade to the T7250 or T8100 processor which costs $150+ more.
This laptop gives you a generous 3 GB of RAM which is a big plus. 250 GB hard drive is the standard size for less-than-$1000 laptops. For me, the biggest feature is the 256 MB nVidia GeForce 8400M GS discrete graphics card. The discrete graphics card allows you to run video games much more smoothly than an integrated graphics card found on cheaper laptops. 256 MB is very good for a laptop at this price. I play Battlefield 2142 and it runs smoothly on the laptop. I'm sure it will struggle with the newest, more graphics-intensive games that will be released later in 2008, but then you'll need to buy a very expensive gaming laptop or just go with a desktop... I definitely didn't want to spend $2,000+ on a laptop.
As for the negatives, they are minor:
1) QuickPlay is a complete joke. I thought you could play a DVD movie without loading up Windows. Nope... If you press the QuickPlay button, the laptop still loads Windows but takes you directly to the QuickPlay interface. Not much benefit in this...
Here's a blurb from Wikipedia if you search on "QuickPlay":
"As of 2008, QuickPlay versions 3.0 and newer included in notebooks shipping with Windows Vista, do not provide users with instant access to the software, as the "Direct" function no longer exists due to unresolved compatibilty issues. Users must first boot into Windows and access their user accounts before the software can run. It is currently unknown if or when HP plans to release newer versions of Quickplay, with a direct boot function."
2) The specs on the laptop battery that's included with the package shows battery life at 2 hours. Not very long. It probably can't last through a whole movie. If you plan to work a lot without power (e.g. Working during a airplane flight), buy an extra higher-capacity battery.
3) You get no CD/DVD in the box. As you'll read in the instructions, you'll need to burn a few DVD/CD's to create recovery discs the first time you boot up the laptop.
There are faster and more graphics-intensive laptops. But if you're looking to replace a desktop computer with a laptop without spending a lot (under $1,000), I recommend this laptop model.
- Great Laptop
     By A3OXXUTBX420IP on 2008-02-22
We're not really technologically saavy, but so far we've loved our computer. We read the reviews before buying and we knew a few of the features we needed, and we're pleased with our purchase. We only need a laptop for basic applications and occasionally editing a home video from our video camera. We haven't tried our movie editing yet, but everything is great. We love the look and the functionality of this laptop. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because we do not like Windows Vista. I'm having a hard time getting used to it. It's not user friendly at all (coming from a somewhat computer illiterate person), so maybe it's easier for others. Overall I'd recommend this laptop.
- True to reviews
     By A1WF5D5CQJ7KUS on 2008-03-02
I received the HP DV6775US in January 08. True to reviews there seems to be an issue with the power cord and battery. Battery had charged most of the day, while surfing the net the power screen would flash that it was low battery while still plugged in. Also the CD player was working fine for 3 days, then would not recognize CD. It went right back not even a week later. Bought a Toshiba instead haven't had a problem yet - but still getting used to Vista. bleh.
- No help
     By A2MU2RWSUJVE8Q on 2008-03-10
Problem- POST not recognizing memory on start-up. Computer-Pavilion still under warranty was shipped to Texas, Irving repair facility free of charge. When it was recieved back, after 45 min use stopped recognizing memory again with the same sound on start up. The paper work indicated that memory chip DDR2 PC4200 was replaced. After 3 hours with Indian technician on the phone and pulling out memory chips one by one, the defective chip was found and pulled out. The promise from the tecnician and his supervisor was given that replacement memory chip would be sent out to me. 3 days later trying to find out the status of the order case # 800892**** information from another supervisor was given that nobody is going to send me a replacement chip because it's outdated and (or) that is not in their power. After attempt to find out the name of the person we were speaking to, the phone call was disconnected.
Original order # ***056-01.
During the conversation I was explaned that for the reason of me buying outdated computer I will not get any repairs done by HP (unavaliability of parts) and I better to pay for additional waranty, so I at least will get their advice.
This is the last HP product that I bought.
Regretfully, formerly proud owner of Packard Bell and Compaq, asking forgivness for assumption that the product under the warranty should be fixed by manufacturer.
- Great laptop
     By AVKKG5LDW6FFN on 2008-03-10
I bought it 2 weeks ago but so far I love it. The keyboard is great and very responsive. It has adequate CPU speed, I develop software for a living and have a bunch of technical software installed and it all works great on this laptop. I love the screen resolution, and the web camera - i used it to chat with family online and they reported that the image was really clear. the speakers are great, do not miss my PC at all. I love the entertainment features including the remote control - i hope to soon connect it to my HD LCD tv to watch movies. I really like the design on the outside, and the weight is adequate - it is not heavy or anything.
I upgraded it to Vista Ultimate and it works very well. In short, I really like it so far!!
- Excelent Laptop

This laptop are great, very cheap. i always play and the laptop works perfect. i love the HP brand.
- Not bad for the price!
     By A1O7V4V3M9LGSR on 2008-03-19
Being in the IT industry for the last 20 years, I am particularly critical when it comes to computers. I have to say that I researched for several weeks and it came down to this system or the Dell XPS 1530. As I am not a heavy gamer this HP 6775US is more than adequate for what I do.
A couple of my main criteria for a new notebook was that it have at least 256MB dedicated video memory and a HDMI output. I also needed at least 2GB RAM and 160GB HDD. This box has both as well as an Intel Duo Core proc, 3GB of RAM and 250GB of disk storage. It also has Firewire and 3 USB-2 ports. It could have used at least one more USB, but alas... you can't have it all.
The display is excellent even though it is only 1200 X 800 resolution. That is enough for a 15.4" screen. If you are going to a 17" screen or larger on a notebook or run an external monitor, go for a notebook with the higher resolution. I did play around with the demo version of the Simms that came with the system and the Nvidia 8400 with the on board 256 MB digested the graphics very well. No skips or grunts. How it would do with some of the higher graphics taxing games I do not know, but I would think it would do fine at 30 FPS.
I purchased a desktop last year with Vista and replaced it with XP the same day. Bad experience, no drivers, etc. I purchased this system with some apprehensions about Vista, but determined to force myself to move away from XP. I knew Vista would not run all of my old and favorite software, but its probably time to buy new versions anyway. All in all there was only one program it would not run and that was a 3 year old version of Delorme MapnGo which I used to plot out routes when I travel. Some of my old software comes up with a warning message acknowledging "compatibility issues", but Vista allows you to move past that message and everything works fine anyway.
The learning curve was not bad and Vista really has some very cool "innards" to it if you dig. Get past the visual and aesthetic and go into some of the OS utilities such as the new and improved task manager and disk manager. Not to mention some of the apps that are new to the Windows components. Very nice and stuff that should have been there years ago.
One of the cons of this box as well as any that you do not build yourself is the "Bloatware" that comes on it. I think I spent two hours researching and deleting the trash and I am not yet finished. These software companies must pay HP a ton of money to risk tormenting its customers to the point of wrath with this trash. I would be willing to pay fifty dollars more for the notebook just to NOT have it on there. My time is worth that.
To summarize, the HP DV6775US is worth the investment. A reasonably fast and well thought out notebook computer.
- A Good Computer For Teenagers
     By A17HMM1M7T9PJ1 on 2008-06-10
I use a Dell (my work computer) but when I wanted to buy a laptop for my two teenage daughters I picked this one. It seems to have enough features for them to enjoy now, and it probably should last them 2-3 years (seems to be the life expectancy of a laptop, at least for me). They play a lot of video games on it and the processor is fast enough to keep up with the graphics.
My sons all own Apples and usually swear by them, but sometimes (when they play video games) they swear at them. So far I think that I make the right choice with this computer.
- Nicest laptop with great features

This is the best laptop I have ever owned (my previous selection includes a MacBook which I really liked at the time but this completely outshines it). Very good value for money and great machine. 100% satisfied! could not be happier.
- DV6770SE Rocks!

The laptop rocks!!! worth every penny spent. Just need to get to used to Windows Vista OS though... :)
Overall, I'm satisfied with the product.
- Great PC -- Buy at PC Richard for $150 less than Amazon

This is a great laptop. Fast, quite, amazing display. Only problem is that PC Richards has it for $150 less than what I paid on Amazon five days ago!

Other than a few issues with Vista, so far this machine is worth much more than I paid for it. The hard drive space reports a little small, but that seems to be the industry norm. Battery life is around 2 hours with the included standard battery, but with an extended battery I got close to 4 hours. An extended battery should really be included with this, but I understand that it couldn't be done at this price. Overall, exactly the machine they advertised and a definite bargain.
- Great laptop, great price

I was looking for a laptop, that I could be able to edit and produce video using Studio 11 Plus. I have a desktop from 2003 that still runs, but it barely met the requirements to run Pinnacle 11 smoothly. I didn't want to replace the desktop because it was still doing the tasks I needed just fine.
This laptop is great. I love being able to sit in the living room, connect wireless, and watch tv at the same time. And my Pinnacle program runs so smooth and fast on it. Still trying to learn the ins and outs of Windows Vista. Been used to XP for so long.
- Love it BUT...!

This is a beautiful computer but the battery life IS disappointing. I love HP's they are very user friendly.I did encounter a bit of a difficulty with my purchase & shipping(having a P.O.B.and living in Hawaii!)Also, was unable to obtain my rebate, so make sure you print out the forms before ur purchase. If the battery life was better I would have givin it 5 stars.
- Not A Bad Machine
     By A2V7IV6FWBUBDD on 2008-04-13
Overall this is not a bad machine. You get quite a bit for your money and everything works as advertised. The screen is crisp and bright, the keyboard is comfortable but some might find it to be more of a Chick-Lit keyboard. Nevertheless it's a quiet keyboard. It's not a silent machine by any stretch of the imagination though. The fan constantly turns on doing simple tasks but it's not a big deal. The wireless card works very well and I always managed to usually pick up the signals of four, sometimes five, wireless networks in my home. It's an attractive looking machine to boot. However, I decided to return it based on the fact that the DVD drive wasn't working properly. DVDs wouldn't play correctly on this system. After having to talk to HP (who's customer "service" bites) and doing numerous installs and reinstalls, I couldn't get it to work. I suspect it was Vista related (that's a whole 'nother can of worms) because closing the lid and reopening it gave me a copyright error before playing the DVD back as it should and then going back to looking like a YouTube video when changing the chapter. I was using commercially brought DVDs...which aren't supposed to run afoul of copy protection.
Overall this is a decent machine and you do get a lot for your money if you can deal with Vista and not run into the same problem I did. Amazon was great about taking it back and giving me a refund so it's another reason to shop with them.
- amazing laptop

hallo there
as a gamer, for years i trusted a desktop computer only, laptops made me crawl at night, with their bad performance until i gt my hands on this one which changed my point of view.
this HP has it all, great looks, great ram, dedicated graphic accelerator
runs like a devil , can easily take care of new games
and real pleasure to work with.
on the otherside it gets real warm quickly but then again its worth it.
go and get it !!!
- A Great Buy

I did a lot of research when I was looking to buy a laptop. I mean this was my first laptop. After all of my research, it was clear that this HP Entertainment PC was the best for my needs. It's fast and offers great processing power for the money, the display is crisp and beautiful, and the quick access keys to DVD and music software makes enjoying my movies and music incredibly easy. And the ceramic white and silver finish makes the laptop look sleek and very attractive. I love this laptop. The only downer is the battery life. There are three battery plans: High Performance, Power Saver and Low Performance. On high performance, the battery lasts 2 1/2 hours tops running basic office applications, surfing the net and playing some music. Don't even think about watching a movie.
Great laptop but a weak battery. If you buy this product, definitely look at buying an additional battery.
- fast graphics but not extremely fast otherwise
     By ACR22KYQREZ6Q on 2008-06-30
I was hoping for a little bit better operating speed but the graphics card makes up a plenty for 3D games. I run Flight Simulator X and it runs smooth at all but the very highest settings and then it is only a little jerky.
- Perfect for everything !!
     By A2TE660MK3764O on 2008-01-31
I bought this laptop from Fry's Electronics and very satisfied with it. It has a big Ram (3G ram integrated), fast CPU (which can run almost any current games), a a dedicate Video card (8400GS NVIDIA). Right after I bought it, I ran couple games like Age of Empire 3, Bioshock and it ran smoothly. It would be nice if you upgrade to 4G ram but it is unnecessary. Personally, I think if you want a gaming PC around 1000 dollars, this should be a right choice.
- Great notebook at a great price!

I was looking for a reasonably priced laptop under $1,000 that would play Call of Duty 4. A lot of the others I've looked at wouldn't even boot the game, much less play it.I found this one with a graphics card that has 256 mb of DEDICATED memory (for the new computer people, the KEY to being able to play the new games out there is a graphics card with dedicated memory, not "onboard" or "integrated" video memory). I can play COD4 now on 800x600 mode very smoothly. Thanks for a great laptop!

One month ago, I went to the nearest computer shop to buy two laptops. One for me that i was going to use for business, and one for my wife who uses it more for media. I went for the 2,000$ Toshiba Tecra S5. And I bought this 1,000$ Pavilion to my wife because it had a nice design and i thought she wouldnt need the best Intel ship ("AMD would do it").
After using both, I was so impressed by HP that I sold my tecra and bought a Pavilion myself!!! I have the HP dock that stays at my office with all the cables plugged to it and i am so satisfied I would never buy anything else than HP. It is unbelievably fast and reliable in every way.
The only problem I encountered (i think it may be solved in some way) is the 1280x800 resolution that is too small for a 21" screen.
Great product. Well done HP.
