Good but not the best

The DVD Quality and Production is very good. The main reason for buying this DVD was to get more grip on the Camera, it's Custom and Metering functions thats where it lost the 2 stars. If you are a beginner to photography and if you are thinking this DVD will cover Depth of Field, Metering, Custom Functions are ? Then this DVD is not for you.
1. No Custom Functions are explained in the DVD, Pros and Cons would have been Good. I know there are lot of Custom Functions but discussing only a few key ones would have been useful for the 40D user - 1/5
2. Camera Metering is discussed, further examples in the video would have been useful as pictures are worth a thousand words - 2/5
3. Chapter on Focussing - 5/5, Good discussion on the Focussing points
4. Chapter on White Balance - 5/5, Good discussion on setting Custom White Balance and other white balance settings.
Coverage of other areas like Menu system, Camera controls, explanation of creative vs basic zones what is automatically set while shooting in these zones are covered nicely.
Waste of time money and effort

I was really looking forward to recieving this. It arrived and I sat down with my camera to watch it and learn.
The introduction says "I will not be discussing what all the terms mean because if you bought this camera it will not be your first SLR" then "I will not be going through all the menu functions because it will take too long". And so on and so on.
WHAT????????? I wanted a full tutorial on this camera! If you are like me and you have owned SLR's before but this is your first foray into the creative settings don't even bother with this garbage. It won't suit you. And if you have used SLR's extensively then you definitely won't need this DVD because you would know it all anyway.
I really do wonder to whom this is marketed. Waste of time money and effort, don't bother.
