too small for the depth of a standard laptop

I bought this model after try another that was not wide enough... this one is plenty wide but lacks depth enough to hold my Toshiba Satellite (it hangs off about two inches when it's open and is not very balanced if you try to adjust your screen angle away from you). I wish the fans ran faster to keep the laptop even cooler, but it seems to do the trick.
