The Story so farThe terrorist threat to Vegas is still five years away, but the seeds of deceit are soon to be planted. And you, unknowingly, are about to play a central role. You are Bishop, leader of Rainbow's elite Bravo Team. You've been ordered to a desolate observatory where a hostage stand-off is underway. Your mission is straightforward: infiltrate the observatory and protect the hostages should negotiations fail. But you're experienced enough to know that things have a funny way of not going as planned... 2010 - Las Vegas, NevadaThe tragic events at the observatory are now a memory, but the terrorist threat in Sin City is very real. While Logan Keller is in pursuit of Irina Morales in Mexico, Six has ordered your team to Vegas. There, terrorist mastermind Alvarez Cabrero is hatching a scheme to bring Sin City to its knees—and it's up to your team alone to stop him from turning Vegas into a devastated inferno. Return to Sin City for the last time in Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and put an end to the terrorist threat. There, you'll unravel a web of betrayal that will take you beyond the events of Rainbow Six Vegas. At a remote hideaway you'll witness the astonishing conclusion that will bring an end to the crisis in Vegas—once and for all. About Team RainbowTeam Rainbow is a multinational task force comprising counter-terrorism experts from around the globe. Equipped with state-of-the-art weapons, Team Rainbow is deployed during terrorist crises. When all other attempts have failed, Rainbow is brought in to save the lives of innocent people. They do not negotiate with terror. They destroy it. Rainbow began as an idea shared by John Clark and Domingo "Ding" Chavez. Clark, a former Navy SEAL and CIA operative, met Chavez during a covert operation in Colombia. During the operation, Chavez was rescued by Clark. After that mission, Chavez joined the Central Intelligence Agency. Clark and Chavez developed a mentor-student relationship over the course of several missions together. Rainbow was created in 2000. Ding Chavez was made a Team Leader and began recruiting counter-terrorism operatives immediately. Experts in close-quarters combat, demolitions, electronics, surveillances, and reconnaissance were recruited. Snipers, hackers, soldiers, policemen, and contractors were all brought to Hereford, England, where Rainbow shares its headquarters with the British Special Air Service.

A little old, a LOT of NEW By A3UO7R8L6IL275 on 2008-04-15
I may be a bit biased writing this review, since my love for the Tom Clancy series of games is widely known. I will try to do this as objectivly and non-fanboyish as I can:
Pros:
This game has been very well designed from the start and improving on the first game, I thought, would be quite difficult. However, the graphics are sharper, the weaponry is more real-world (i.e. the guns in silenced are less accurate and have less punch) and they added an XP points and achievements system to the co-op and story mode portion of the game, instead of just in multiplayer. The addition of the last thing and the co-op story mode made this game 1000X better than CoD4 or any previous Rainbow 6 title.
Cons:
While there aren't many, I'd say that most of the maps are either too small or too big and I'd like to see some more variety in the Terrorist Hunt missions. I think the controls can still be a bit clunky at times, although fine motor skills are way better in this game than the first Vegas title. The one other thing I'd like to see is better/smoother online experiences. The servers are too slow and they still have a "host advantage" at times. Nothing is perfect and it depends on connection, but hopefully they can iron this out soon.
Overall:
9 out of a possible 10. A good buy if you love FPSs!
It could be better! By A2NJ7HFZ0P8SL2 on 2008-04-16
I have been a Rainbow Six fan since the begining of the franchiese. There have been some good ones and some bad ones. The first Vegas was owesome, I spend countless hours of fun in that game playing retrieval with friends, but in Vegas 2 I am dissapointed because there's no Retrieval. I think Ubisoft released R6V2 too early because the game is full of flaws. I've finished the story mode in Realistic but it didn't gave me the achievement for it, neither the achievement for Private First Class and some times when I'm playing my screen goes into slow-motion. I think you can still have fun if you play with a bunch of friends over XboxLive.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 By A1EO9RG8E4ATUO on 2008-04-27
This game is very much like the first but has sprint, new guns, and new maps. The maps I think are a little worse then the orginal but the guns I think are suprior to it. The sprint is definetly a huge benefit.
Excellent Game By AX9D8AY7J2E7S on 2008-04-28
An excellent game and is very fun to play. It is quite difficult, but with time, you will get the hand of it.
R6V2 By A3II4ZOLPAS6LR on 2008-04-29
Over all the game was ok it is still to slow. Graphics on the game were very good. Online play i had trouble staing in a game and could not get a good connection.
- Better than the last one
     By A1AGUWR930PYJQ on 2008-05-02
The game play is just like the last game with a few minor exception(running and tagging hostiles) that just improved game play.
- A tiny step up from the last
     By A2XDCYA8763WSY on 2008-05-28
I am a big fan of FPS and this series in particular. I wasn't going to buy this one, but when Amazon marked the Limited Edition down to $29 and I had a $25 coupon credit (with 2 day free ship) I couldn't pass it up. The series is tight, and a top 5 FPS on any system. If you can't get a deal, I would wait as it is not much of an upgrade.
- awesome if you never played the first
     By A32NR7XGQ3MZ6O on 2008-05-28
This is a great game. Best cover system around. The main gripe by most people was that it was not that different from the first RB6V. So if you haven't played the first one, pick this one up for sure. If you liked the first one, expect more of the same.
Also, they have released an update(patch via Xbox Live) that fixed most of the technical issues at launch.
- Worth every penny
     By AEHFBHIA7GSM4 on 2008-07-07
I've played quite a few FPS's in my day, and this one sure is a lot of fun to play. In addition to the expansive single player story, the Terrorist hunt missions are a lot of fun too. I have a blast playing online with my buddy who just moved to another country. I highly recommend this game.
- Online Update Ruined The Game
     By AVFEXBL59J8LS on 2008-05-28
I was a big fan of the first one. And I liked this one before the software update which ruined the tactical aspect of the game. If you are interested in this type of game, buy Call of Duty 4, its a much better game in every aspect.
- good game
     By A1ALD09SAYLVYI on 2008-06-20
got into this and beet it in like 8 hours mabey less, the onloine fun is there, but no improvments, still have your buggs they never fix
- The EXACT same thing
     By AYK9JACMH3XTV on 2008-06-28
I played through the first game and had a fun time with it, and I bought the second because of the lame ending of the first. If you liked the first game, you'll like the second. I cannot really tell a difference. Move checkpoint to checkpoint and kill the terrorists in between. That's basically the game.
- Excellent Game
     By A2LGQ65KKVV26D on 2008-06-29
This is an excellent game! Better than the first R6V, in many ways. The Co-Op though the entire campaign, and over XBL, then the bullet penetration for the kill through cover moves all make this a very worthy step up from the previous Rainbow Six games. I have enjoyed every moment playing, and then to be able to just drop into a friends game to help him through a difficult area makes for a great gaming experience.
I can only say that the only drawback that I have seen is the continuation of the triggering the enemy system. Where you enter an area and then get to a specific spot and then the enemy comes barreling out of all corners. I really wish that they could have taken a tip from early Ghost Recon games and just set up static roaming patrols, and then also your stationary guard this point enemies. The triggering system makes for an unrealistic gaming experience when you tend to scope and snipe, before moving into an area.
But that does not take away from the overall gaming experience for me. I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy playing this game, both solo, or with friends, and across XBL. I would defiantly recommend it to any FPS fan.
- Great Shooter game
     By A2HG4NT1D6UXCB on 2008-06-29
I'm new to the Rainbox 6 games and Vegas 2 Limited Edition is my first time I ever played a game like this and I now see what I've been missing! The limited ediition comes with an extra CD that has a lot of helpful hints, strategies and tips on how to play the game on and off line. Being a newb to this genre of gameplay getting the Limited Edition version helped my gameplay a lot. I would definately suggest anyone who hasn't played Rainbox 6 before (like me) and looking for a fun shooter game get the limited edition. Play the game for a week then watch the extras CD. It definately helped me to understand the strategies within the game.
- Only bought it for the bonus!
     By A290D1KJM0GVG3 on 2008-06-30
I bought it ONLY for the poker chip keychain for the bf. He loves the keychain but the game, well, he already played it. Whatever makes the man happy. =) I do remember watching him play it and the graphics were quite good.
