Excellent choice for my Blackberry Curve By A2PSD2R9A1CXG7 on 2008-07-14
I tested the possibility of using my BlackBerry 8310 Curve as my primary mp3 player with an inexpensive Kingston 2GB microSD card. I ran into several issues in the process, but learned how to overcome them.
The Curve limits the file size transfers when they are sent to the phone's storage. This protects the phone from running out of memory. The trick is ensuring you are transferring files to the card instead. If you map drives on your computer, the first available drive is automatically used for the Curve's memory card. At home this is my F drive while at work it is K. If any other device is mapped to that drive, the Curve's memory card will not be recognized.
Additionally, there are settings that may need to be changed to allow music file transfers. Go to "Settings", then "Options" to click on "Media Card." Set "Mass Storage Mode Support" to ON. Also set the "Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected" to YES or PROMPT.
Initially to save music, I needed to remove the card from my Curve and transfer files directly from my computer. This is where the adapter, which converts the microSD card to full-sized SD card, comes in handy. After removing the Curve's battery, I simply popped the microSD card into the adapter and used my computer's SD drive. Do not format the card in the Curve, as it will only recognize half the storage space. If you must format, do so on your computer instead. Now that I have everything set up properly, this card does the job without worries.
PROS:
Good price
Reliable card
CONS:
None
Buyer Beware of Huge Shipping cost!!! By A17A1BNR85F43O on 2008-06-16
I was going to order this 8gb SanDisk Micro SDHC card which is a very good card but DO NOT purchase from Chi Tek they will charge you $16.98 for shipping of this item and each and every item. They had a special where for $1.06 you got a USB micro SDHC card reader supposedly for free you even see the $1.06 credited to your cart upon checkout, but upon further inspection they were charging me $33.96 for shipping, that's $16.98 shipping for the micro SDHC and $16.98 shipping for the supposedly free $1.06 card reader. Nothing but a bunch of RIP OFFS! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! AMAZON I would expect a little monitoring of your associates on trying to rip off YOUR consumers.
IT COMES WITH THE ADAPTOR--DON'T BUY ANOTHER! By A1YLYR8JB6JVXQ on 2008-08-01
The disc works as promised, but Amazon suggests the purchase of the microSDHC WITH an mini adapter at a price of $35.64. However, this microdisc package COMES with both a mini and standard adapter--a great deal that should be explicitely described. I don't know if that is the meaning of "bulk package," but I assumed it did not come with a mini adapter when I saw that Amazon suggested the purchase of the two together. Because of Amazon's suggestion I bought an unnecessary mini adapter for $5.65 and incurred extra shipping costs since it came from another seller. I am hoping Amazon will reimburse me, since it is not the second seller's fault that I didn't know I didn't need their adapter.
Works great! By A2TIF2FRG047C8 on 2008-05-06
I bought this micro card for my AT&T 8925 Tilt (HTC TYTN) phone and it works perfectly. I took a chance that the phone would support that size and it does (the AT&T specs list the max capicity as 2GB). I recommend also purchasing an adapter so you can use it as an SD card if you have a digital camera that takes that format. It would have been nice to have that as a package deal as opposed to giving the thumb drive adapter - but it's still a deal even with the few extra dollars for the adapter. If you have the Tilt and want plenty of storage space go ahead and buy this card.
Nice Micro SD Card for cell phones By A2XRIU3SOYZ0ZC on 2008-05-10
I have a Motorola Q9c Smartphone and was looking for a mini SD card with lots of room on it.This Micro SD card is exactly what i was looking for.All i did was purchase the Mini SD card adaptor so i could put this in my Moto Q9c and it works great. My Q9c recognises almost all 8GB!If you are looking for a mini SD card with plenty of room on it get this one.

- Great if it reconized all 8GB
     By A3VP47IPA5HRL on 2008-06-02
I went ahead and ordered this for my blackberry pearl because all the reviews said that they were getting all if not most of the 8GB card. I was very disappointed that after formating I only got 3.6GB out the the 8GB I just paid $50 for. So word to the wise, if you have a blackberry than beware, you may just want to get a smaller card at a lower price since this one doesn't give all it could on the blackberry. Shoot! I got 1.8GB out of my 2GB micro card I already had (which was also a scan disk). Needless to say I am disapointed in the product but not the seller. The seller was great. Just wish there were more reviews like mine to warn people before they order something like this blindly.
- It works well
     By A10ZQ27K7PEC7Y on 2008-05-02
I purchased this memory for a Nokia E51 phone. The phone recogizes all 8GB and the memory works very well. The seller, Blue Proton, delivered on time and as promised.
- WOW
     By A10J258ZSDSRF0 on 2008-05-13
8GB of memory for 46 bucks and its the size of my pinky fingernail? WOW. Can't go wrong with this, can't wait til the 32GB comes out and I can finally and forever trash my Ipod and use the Tilt for all my media.
- Great Memory Card
     By A3ZQO1SIYL49E on 2008-05-21
Highly recommended. I bought this memory card for my VX6900 smartphone, which has a 2 megapixel camera, MP3 player, video camera and many other software applications, including book reader software. This high capacity memory card fits the bill for me. I love the freedom of not having to worry about memory space when I'm using my device.
- Works for the Blackjack2
     By A2TRG58KV1OPRF on 2008-07-01
I bought this here at Amazon for the BlackJack 2 and it totally works. It reads as 7782 disk space which is still cool. I was able to put any files (music, video, etc.) and it was fine. I deleted/transferred multiple times and it was fine. It definitely is the size of my pinky finger or less so be very careful that you don't lose it. I too can't wait for the day when there is a 32gb because I heard that may still work for the Blackjack 2.
- Good size for the money!
     By A2JI03J80UX61J on 2008-06-25
I have a Blackberry Curve with the beta version of OS 4.5 and I used this 8GB microSD card and I now have a portable "flash stick" with me all the time. I carry my Blackberry everywhere I go and sometimes when I need to copy a large file, and I forget my 2GB flash stick, I can simply just transfer to my 8GB in my Blackberry. Just remember, this will not work in the Blackberry OS 4.2 - you can only go up to 4GB max. Make sure you upgrade!
- Satisfied Cutomer
     By A3VCN1LUR5287B on 2008-06-28
I purchased this for a my Samsung Instinct. The device shows the full capacity of the card (7788 Mb) and works well. Ordered from Netweb who promptly shipped it and received it in 3 days.
- Picture with a class 4 and a description for a class 2, so?
     By A1QRLVF2HAY65X on 2008-09-22
Do I have to buy looking at the picture of the item or reading the description, both are differents, while the picture says Class 4, the descrition says is a class 2, meaning Class 4 a speed of 4mb of transfer vs. just 2mb. It's a big difference....
- BE AWARE - Technical Details stated Class 4 yet sent Class 2
     By A2XPJ5FLVMFJAY on 2008-10-27
When I order this item the Technical Details stated Class 4 with the Bulk picture showed no case, as is the case sometimes. I just received a class 2 so look at my printout to confirm and then the current listing. I see they have corrected the picture yet not the Technical Details as they still list this as a class 4. Seems like a bait and switch, so I asked for a refund and/or a Class 4 whichever they prefer. I will add the outcome to the feedback once I hear back from them........
Class2 is 2mb speed whereas class 4 is 4mb speed. At Fry's the Class 2 runs about the same as this with the Class 4 a little more, however, it is a 50 mile drive or about $5 extra so I trusted Amazon to ensure business was above board. Now I have to deal with the company not Amazon whom I ordered from. Will have to rethink this business model depending on the outcome.

- Great but Beware your Card Reader
     By A29PKCUIP9NC1O on 2008-09-08
This card works brilliantly in my LG enV 2 cell phone. It formatted instantly and I was playing music and shooting photos and video immediately. HOWEVER, the only reader that could explore it was the built-in on my new Dell Notebook. Cards over 4GB require a downloadable fix from MS for older machines to read them. Even so, some card readers still aren't able to decipher the 8GB cards. Well worth the fix to have that much music on my LG enV2.
FWIW, the card I received was a class 4 (the good one).
- Works great
     By A1179AOJ8WJL5U on 2008-06-22
You can't beat the $36 dollar on this anywhere else. I installed this 8GB minisd card on my Sprint Blackberry 8130 and it works like a charm. I cant wait for a 16GB version. Btw: what I got delivered was the card and normal SD card adapter, that's all I needed.
- Cheap memory - works with Nokia n95-3!
     By A1PDTXE1R7YN3K on 2008-07-29
Just wanted to say that this particular card works GREAT with my Nokia n95-3. Just slide it in, format, and you've got 8 gigs of free memory.
One con: the large adapter that the thumbnail-sized memory card slides in to didn't work for me. Hopefully everyone else's works.
- Nice Performance, But....
     By AUCISQA1YXX86 on 2008-09-03
Although you can save money by buying bulk products like this, watch the shipping charges. Many companies like lowering the base cost of the item and then charging unreasonable "shipping" charges. So if you wanted to buy, say, four of these items, it would cost roughly twenty five dollars because the shipping charge is really part of the price. The Kinston SDMicro is a valuable resource for anyone who has a device that can take them. But be careful. Not all devices take 8GB. I put one of these in a Sandisk mp3 player and it only registered as a 4GB.
Hopefully Amazon will one day carry these so we don't have to buy them from marketerring cheap skates. I have to give this four stars, because it does what it's supposed to; but I don't have to like the way they sell it.
- Great for the price, but...
     By A4IEUHNRFZO0 on 2008-05-31
I recommend purchase. The price of these cards is so volatile though. I just purchased a 8GB MicroSD from Amazon for $48 and a few days later I see it for $38.
- FAST
     By A1DB7P0MMBNG0A on 2008-06-12
Card works amazing with my HTC Mogul. I upgraded from a SanDisk 2gb micro card and this 8gb SDHC card seems much much faster. I have music stored on it along with videos and documents... definitely worth the purchase.
- Great value for the money
     By A680RUE1FDO8B on 2008-09-14
8 Gigabytes of flash in a package as small as your little finger's nail? And so inexpensive? Amazing.
It works fine in my Sprint Mogul (HTC PPC-6800). Good read/write speeds when I tested it on my computer.
Having 8 Gigabytes on my cell phone is utterly blow away. Install this card, buy a couple of extra batteries and the next time you're stuck at an airport, strain your eyes watching movies on your cell phone! Or listen to a lot of music or audio books.
Be careful when purchasing. Some SKUs include only the card. Others have SD adapters included. If you don't already have a microSD to SD adapter, make sure you get one. Also remember that most older laptops will not recognize flash drives of more than 2 GB, so you may need yet another adapter to handle these microSDHC cards.
Finally, make sure the device you plan on installing this microSDHC card in can handle it. Lots of cell phones and music players thast accept microSD cards will not properly use a microSDHC card.
Now I want a 16GB microSDHC at a reasonable price.

- Picture does not show class accurately
     By A2EYQX07G392G2 on 2008-10-30
I must have missed the discription. I ordered this thinking it was a Class 4 (the 4 in a circle in the upper right corner of the micro card). It says Class 2 in the discription. If you're product (like an SanDisk MP3 player) requires higher class, please read the discirption better (since I didn't).
- Works great with my N82
     By A20NPG8UVMJB1B on 2008-06-10
Everything seems to work fine, the only SDHC device I have is my N82 and they work great together. N95 8GB eat your heart out!
- Deceptive Ad
     By AF5VTHC494479 on 2008-06-11
I have had so many problems with SanDisk after ordering this product. On their website they have it advertised that the product is compatible with a Sansa e250 Mp3 player. I have the player but I later found out that the card is only compatible with a version two Sansa e250. That was not advertised. I had to fight with Sansa to get a refund because the store does not give refunds on cards that have been inserted in devices. The store I ordered it from has been great in helping resolve this problem.
- Cheap and with Adapter
     By A1ZL7FHJE5XJB3 on 2008-08-08
I bought this via Amazon and it came with an adapter, I was amazed at that. I thought I was going to have to get one. This thing works great in my BlackBerry 8330 Curve. I did format it in my PC first as suggest on some websites, but once in the phone it added it's own folders. I then removed it and copied my music from the PC to the card via a card reader, it was faster. Put it back in and I have music on my phone. This is a great buy.
- Buy the Adapter
     By A2ACBDISFW2HMX on 2008-08-27
Contrary to what faffie says, the product DOES NOT COME WITH AN ADAPTER. I need to go the electronic store now to buy an adapter. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid by reading the reviews and by ordering online. Oh well.
- Great memmory for LG Dare
     By ALMHYR2T2R81I on 2008-09-18
I ordered and received the memory quickly. Inserted the chip into my LG Dare and there it was 8.0gb. I love it and it works great. Great deal for the money.
- 8GB for NOKIA E51
     By A1L8DE2A51PS5K on 2008-06-17
After reading one of the review on Nokia E51 supporting 8GB, I purchased this SanDisk 8GB from Amazon (delivered by Nextweb Sales - well on time).
I hotswapped my old 256MB with this MicroSD and Nokia E51 recognized it no time and got the entire 8GB (7783 MB) for use.
This is a recommended memory upgrade for E51 users.
- Works well. Needed a new card reader though.
     By A1R2AIKNT42825 on 2008-06-24
The 8GB card works fine with my digital camera. However, copying files larger than 300MB (video files captured with my camera) did not work using my old card reader or the camera's USB cable. I tried on my desktop and laptop, neither worked. I bought a SDHC card reader at a local store for about $12 and that worked out fine. Maybe it was just me, but if anyone else runs into this problem while moving large files, a SDHC reader will solve it.
