crocs Cayman Sandalx

(96 reviews)

These clogs are a closed cell resin which is anti-microbial by nature and resists odor, making these perfect barefoot shoes. A combination of material and design makes the shoe slip resistant. Strategically placed ventilation holes allow water, sand and air to travel through the footwear. Heel strap can be rolled forward for a slip on clog shoe or keep it back for a heel strap. Arch support is built in, making these all day shoes. Non marking outsole.

Cayman sandal? Why limit yourself? Sure, this clog from crocs has a ventilated upper and a traction outsole to make it a top wet-dry performer--perfect for the beach--but we can think of a zillion other places you'll want to wear it. MPN: 10001 - UPC: 841158003532

  • One of the best shoes I've ever worn!

    By A2USKXJT0ENCQX on 2008-01-03
In recent months, I've developed severe neuropathy in my feet and legs. The pain, discomfort and other issues caused by this problem made it painful even wearing socks! Since I couldn't wear shoes -- not even my well-worn-in Birkies which were enough to put me into tears -- and, as a consquense, I pretty much becam a shut in. I took up a friend's offer to use her Crocs. I forgot I had the shoes on and considered crying when asked to return them!

  • Inconsistent shoe sizes

    By A22XW7OOHLGKOT on 2008-06-26
I ordered two pairs of Crocs - one pair of thongs and one pair of cayman crocs. I used the sizing chart provided and ordered both pairs in M5/W7. However, when they arrived, while the Thongs fit perfectly, with room to wiggle, the Caymans were way too small (I'd almost say a full size too small). The Thongs were "made in China" and the Caymans "made in Mexico". I went to my local store and discovered that they receive Croc orders which are often made in multiple countries. It would appear to me that there is no "standard" mold used. So beware - just because you have tried them on in a store and think you have the correct size - you may end up getting a larger or smaller size, depending on where they are manufactured.

  • Nice surprise!

    By AL4HLQ8BTZ63M on 2007-06-27
I love these things. My daughter (who's in the medical field)turned me on to these. She, as do I, has a need for arch support because they're so high. She also knew my arches has been falling due to age (I'm in my late forties)and I need inserts in my work shoes. She's been wearing her pair since last fall (2006) and picked me up some of the Croc "glides?" in March.

I liked them so much I ordered these Caymans for myself. Amazing support for "difficult" feet. I wear them whenever I'm not in my work shoes. I may look somewhat foolish (they're marketed at a much lower age bracket than myself), but I'm comfortable so I don't care.

  • Not for kids or fashion.

    By A32AJA0B59J0OM on 2008-04-22
Crocs are the ugliest shoes I've ever seen, hands down. They were made for practical use such as by nurses, people working in their gardens, and people with chronic foot pain. However, the use of them as a fashion accessory has gotten out of hand. Everywhere I go I see people wearing them. At the mall, at church, even frequently at the Red Lobster or Olive Garden. The worst is when I see whole families wearing the same color, or when I see adult men wearing them with shorts and socks. YOU LOOK AWFUL! While they don't look so bad on children, they are BAD for kids to wear. First of all, children wearing these shoes are learning to walk by shuffling their feet rather than lifting them and taking steps. As someone who works with a lot of high school to college aged youth, I can tell you this has become an alarming new trend. Watch when you're out shopping and you'll notice it too. Secondly, kids should not wear these shoes to school as they are dangerous for running, playing, and even walking up steps too quickly. I've seen friends who stopped letting their kids wear these after they kept coming home from school with bruised elbows, scraped knees, and even one bloody nose from falling out of their Crocs. If you want to wear some comfortable shoes and still look decent, I would recommend looking at shoes made by skateboarding companies. Vans (although not the slip-ons), DC Shoes, Etnies, and Fallen all make very comfortable shoes in a variety of styles so that you don't just have to wear skate shoes. They also make cushioned insoles for skateboarders that can be put in any shoes and with a little arch support you might find you don't need these god awful Crocs anymore.

  • They're THAT Comfortable!

    By A1QXIS268M6UU5 on 2006-11-12
I have trouble wearing just about any shoe, and have spent a sizeable amount of money with Keens, Dansko's, Birks, you name it. These shoes are the answer to my prayers. They are light as a feather, fun and have a wide toebox and good arch support. Just bought them for my 65 year old mother and she hasn't taken them off. I wish everyone would wear these all the time so I could get away with wearing them for more formal occcasions like business meetings.
They're kind of funny looking so I intentionally buy them in outrageous colors so they're even more obvious! Yu can wear them with the strap forward like a clog or around the back of your heel. You can wear them with or without socks. You can wash them too. You will love these.

  • Buy these shoes!
    By A2DUGKJ8QSKFMU on 2007-05-12
I bought navy blue size 8 in mens because they didn't have size 10 navy blue womans and they fit perfect. The nice colors are hard to come by especially this time of year. Amazon was handy for that because they do the looking for you. I would definately buy these shoes if your looking for comfort and easy on and off shoes, they're great on uneven terrain. As far as looks, they grown on you!

  • So Ugly
    By A3MYBKZ8WH58VZ on 2008-04-22
I don't own these and I never will. I don't care how comfortable you say that these are, these are the ugliest and most ridiculous looking shoes on the planet. If someone gave me a pair of these I would throw them away. I'm sure wearing a velvet diaper would be comfortable, but I don't because I would look like a tool. Have some self respect people. Don't wear Crocs!

  • The best shoes I have ever had.
    By A1W3ORPH9GB26G on 2007-06-28
I have so many problems with my feet, crocs are like walking barefoot on a soft cusion. I love them

  • Great shoes
    By A13E78ANYRF1RU on 2008-04-29
The shoes are great. I don't see why people give the shoes 1 star ratings because they are ugly or had trouble with a particular seller. Don't buy them if they are not your style. Crocs are soooo comfy. There are other crocs shoes which look fine. If you want the legendary confort, find a pair that won't turn your stomach when looking at them.

    By A1G6T3TNZ97TBS on 2008-06-03
Do not like the "Cayman" crocs. Very rough inside and not very "cushy" to walk on. Prefer the Beach crocs anyday. Would never buy again.crocs Cayman Sandal

  • Comfort and Convenience
    By A37MLDLAEHJT1I on 2007-08-23
I ordered the clogs for my husband to wear in the yard. Because he wears a 91/2, I had to order a 10. That worked out fine and they were a comfortable fit. Having the crocs for the muddy or wet yard has saved his casual shoes!

  • Much Better Than Their Stock
    By A2S29QGVQ32TJL on 2007-12-12
I'm a little bitter because their stock tanked right after I bought in. That's the last time I ever use a Magic Eight Ball for stock picking. Before that, it told me that Google was overpriced at $95 a share.

So anyhoo, these shoes are really comfortable. They are kinda like walking on air, except that you can't walk on air because that's impossible. But if you could walk on air, I imagine that it would feel like a nice pair of Crocs.

    Believe the hype!!!!!11111!

  • Let your feet breathe in this pair of crocs
    By AB3M5NFCWNTSG on 2008-05-05
Very comfortable sandals, great for walking in hot weather. The air flows well through the vents and offers a unique feel of cool comfort. The orange is very bright at first. Not recommended for walking in the sand as the sand does get trapped in which makes for an uncomfortable experience.

  • Crocs

Exactly as described and exactly what I wanted. The size 13 was a size 13!! Thank-You!!

  • What a CrOc!?
    By AEBYQ5KXVJTEH on 2008-06-16
At first I didn't know what to make of this shoe/sandal... it's lightweight, comfortable and "convertible", which is a nice feature that I've never seen in a sandal before. First, I'll break down the benefits, then give the low-points.

    "LIGHTWEIGHT & COMFORTABLE"
This is probably the most attractive feature of the CROC, because it adds to the comfort and makes you feel like you're walking on air. By far the most comfortable things I've ever worn and I'm a picky shoe person. I have only owned 1 pair of sandals for the past 6 years and have hated every other sandal I've tried on, so these CROCS are definitely special.

    "CONVERTIBLE"
You can turn the "sandal" into a "shoe" simply by pushing forward the strap. In "shoe" mode, it's a tighter more snug fit, so you don't have to worry about it coming off your feet. In "sandal" mode, it's easy to slip on and off (although it has a tendency to cling to the bottom of your feet), for that quick trip outside to take out the trash, or pick up your cell phone that you left in the car.

    PROBLEM: "SWEATY FEET"
One problem I have with the CROC is that it doesn't ventilate very well. Sure, it's got holes. But the material is such that it traps heat so you're feet end up sweating in warm weather.

    PROBLEM: "HOLES ALLOW DEBRIS IN"
Another problem is that the holes allow all sorts of debris into the sandal while you're walking, such as loose rocks, wood chips at the playground, sand and dirt (when you're not at the beach), and rain water (puddles in the parking lot). This means that you're feet get dirty rather quickly and can be uncomfortable at places where there is a lot of debris - eg, playgrounds.

    "SIZE & PRICE"
Sizing is a bit weird. I'd recommend going to a store first to try it on and see what size you are. It's hard to find a good selection at a store, so it's best just to dip in for sizing and then purchase the one you want on Amazon. Turned out to be the best thing for me, as I was able to score Army Green Caymans from Amazon, while searching at numerous stores I've only been able to find blue and black Caymans in sizes way too big. For $29.99 I think it's a bit pricey actually, but if you're picky about sandals like me, there's nothing you can do about it.

    "STYLE"
One other thing you'll have to get used to is how aesthetically disgusting it is. Let's be frank: it's a damn ugly shoe and there's no way getting around it. It's not the prettiest thing to wear, but it's hands-down the most comfortable. Just be careful where you tread. Definitely not an all-terrain/purpose sandal. Good for beach and casual sidewalk/short trip walking.

"DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BEACH AND CAYMAN STYLES"
None. Except that the sizes for Beach version are "ranges" and are more roomy for your feet. Cayman sizes are exact and are more narrow. Try on before you buy as the versions are not the same.

  • Excellent in the garden
    By ADZZSRQL8XV6 on 2008-06-18
Broke down and bought them after my last sliver from my splintery deck.
I went up a half-size because people said they ran small and they weren't in my actual size, and had opposite effect...will buy half-size DOWN in future.

    By A1HIURKVKADTX6 on 2008-06-29
These shoes are very comfortable and well suited for the hot , sticky, sandy climate where we live. It's no problem getting them wet and they're still comfortable. I found out the hard way that if you normally take a half size shoe you need to round your size DOWN with these to get a proper fit. I was able to return the pair that was too large but had to pay the cost of shipping to do so. The description of these shoes should have mentioned to round down for half sizes to save others this inconvenience.

  • Very Pleased

Was pleased that I didn't have to pay any shipping charge . . .

  • Happy Feet
    By A3IHRYA1SE6N5Q on 2008-01-11
These things are so light and comfortable on your feet I find myself wearing them all the time even with socks(soooo Geeky!!!-)

  • Slimmer than the Beach or Professional models
    By A3QU8Z7ZWMB66L on 2008-05-25
I have a pair of Professional Crocs (no holes on top), and they have been great for everyday wear and airport trips. They get pretty hot, though. So, I picked up a pair of Caymans. Even in the same size as the Pros, the Caymans are a little slimmer and better fitting (while still giving you the room that Crocs are known for). If you want a looser fit, the Croc Beach style is roomier (and even bigger than the Pros).

Whichever you choose, be sure to give them some time to conform to your foot!

  • Love these shoes!!!
    By A1416KL0CAO1C5 on 2007-01-09
I work as a nurse and am on my feet 8-9 hrs. a day. These are the only shoes I have ever had where my feet don't hurt at the end of the day.

  • yes...they're ugly.
    By A5ABLYC6SHBFJ on 2008-05-20
i try to overlook the fact that these are soooo ugly....because they're sooo comfortable. for excessive amounts of walking during the summer, i highly recommend them. nothing compares to crocs, short of going barefoot.

  • Sizing a problem
    By AV39240AC0NPY on 2008-06-14
Ordered for my husband for Fathers Day. His normal shoe size is 10 1/2. So I ordered size 11. Way too large. Then re-ordered size 10, STILL way too large. Hopefully size 9 will fit. A full size and a half smaller than normal shoe size! I also ordered a pair for myself. My normal size is 8. So of course I order size 8, way too big too. Re-ordered size 7. These did fit.

Glad I bought these. Wear them to work (standing 8 hours). Wish I had done this earlier. Comfortable and light. Bravo

  • False Promises
    By A2SX8IME0QYI96 on 2007-12-11
In general a negative buying experience. Item did not arrive as specified in the specified date range.

I declined review of item twice and amazon keeps asking me still to review this object, which is really annoying and detracts from the overall expereince

These shoes are of great quality and very comfortable. I was also very happy to see that this pair was made in the USA....I know all of them are not but I was happy to have a pair. I plan to get more colors!

  • Crocs - Comfortable, Cozy, and Colorful
    By A1AMRAAFW8QBYF on 2008-05-19
Crocs are the most comfortable shoes ever. They are therapeutic for tired aching feet and they are low in cost. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a comfortable, lightweight shoe. As a bonus, Crocs come in a variety of colors to match a variety of outfits and personalities. Whether working, walking, or just kicking around, Crocs are a comfortable, cozy, and colorful way to dress your feet.
