  I really liked these Crocs for the comfort level, however they come up VERY wide. I couldn't have gone a size down so I was really stuck. As I said very comfortable but very wide. Also, the color I ordered was Pearl/lilac and the pearl does not read well on screen, it looks like an opalesent white when in fact it is a light grey. If you want a white shoe do not choose the pearl color!

  I just received my Crocs Athens purchased here on Amazon. I was so excited to get them after seeing all the positive reviews and knowing the good reputation of Crocs. So I immediately opened the box and tried them on. They are soooo comfy, but unfortunately they run really big. I am a true Womens size 7 and ordered the Mens 5/Womens 7 but they were way too big on me. Mostly in width and the straps of the thongs didn't even fit my foot. I had a slight bit of extra room in the length too, but had they not been too wide and too loose it would not have bothered me.
  So I have to return them, and unfortunately I am not able to "exchange" them (I am guessing because they come from somewhere other than and amazon facility maybe??? Who knows). The return process was a BREEZE, I simply filled out a screen here online as to why I needed to return, printed a RMA, a prepaid shipping label and I will hand it to my Mail Carrier for return!
  I am now reordering a Womens size 6 (Mens 4) and PRAY they fit perfectly! Living in a hot desert climate, I pretty much wear flip flops almost year long and I have been searching out a great pair that will hold up for awhile and keep my feet comfy (and hopefully keep the "smellies" at bay LOL!)
  
  Once I receive a pair that fits well, I will follow up with a better review...I just wanted all women interested in these to be aware that they do run big in the width and fit if you tend to have a thin, petite or even a "normal" size foot.
  P.S. My Mother in Law who wears a womens size 8-1/2 tried this pair on (the womens size 7) and they fit her PERFECTLY.
  Can't wait to receive my new pair to see how comfy they claim to be!

  This is an updated review to the one I wrote back on May 16th, 2008.
  I received the 2nd pair I ordered (the first pair I ordered was way too large so ordered 1 size smaller). These are still yet way too large for me. I wear a womens size 7, and I returned the Mens5/Womens7 for a Mens4/Womens6 and received them today. I am so disappointed that they are still way too large for my feet. They are almost perfect in the length, but VERY large in the strap area. I can't even walk in them without them sliding all over my feet. They may be perfect for someone with a large or swollen feet, but women with regular, thin or petite feet I highly recommend going 2 sizes smaller now...
  I was at the mall last week and found a Crocs kiosk and tried on the Womens 6 and at that point I knew the 2nd pair I ordered here from Amazon would have to be returned :-(
  So I tried on a Womens size 5 at the Crocs Kiosk and they are a perfect fit! 2 sizes smaller than I normally wear. So I am giving up on ordering them from Amazon as I have to keep returning them, re-purchasing a pair and then waiting on a refund. I will be buying them at the mall since they are the same price. I normally like to shop online because I don't get out to the mall much and shopping online saves me with the high prices of fuel from making loads of trips around town.
  Anyway, I just wanted everyone to be aware of the large size of these and if your feet are a "normal" size, or on the smaller size...take it from my experience, order 2 sizes smaller or try them on somewhere before deciding on which size to order here from Amazon.

  I own 3 pair of crocs.one is the mule type and 2 are these "athens" thong type. I am 45 yrs. old and I have never,not one time ever found thong sandles I could wear because they hurt my toes,until crocs.I don't work outside the home so when I say I wear them 24/7 I truly mean it.I have one pair that I wear outdoors and the other as house shoes.I weight 296lbs. (I tell you this because shoes and me don't get along" but these are soooo easy on my feet.My feet use to ache and now they don't.(I often forget I have them on at all) I spent alot on "Berks" until I found these and they are 100% better.they can be held under the water to wash off and when dull I just rube a little vasaline on them so they shine again. best $30 I ever spent.Oh, and the best part, they last years,My first pair are now 3 yrs old and are worn looking but the comfort level has not changed.

  I bought these because I normally can't wear a shoe without my orthodic insert. These are great. Very comfortable. I plan on living in them this summer.
  I bought a size 8 croc which was fine. These were on the big size so I exchanged them for the next smaller size. I guess I am a 7 and 1/2 so if you are inbetween sizes, go smaller with the Athens Croc.

  I tried these crocs since I was looking for a flip flop that I could use for coaching swimming. Most flip flops make my back hurt after a while since I am standing on concrete for 3 hours. I like how these have a raised heel, and the pressure all goes to my heel which makes it really comfortable. I wear a 7.5 and I bought the 7 and it fits great! I really like the two-toned color and got the fushia/lime crocs.
  
  
• Beware - Sizes run 1 size to big

  Luv them, but order 1 size smaller - they run BIG - I wear a true W-6 but they were too big. Size W-5 fit great. You might have to go to kids crocs. They should tell you that in item description so you can order correctly. Besides that, I would give them a 5. I have no idea why they are sized so wrong. If you order your true size you will have to return them for one full size smaller for a proper fit.

  I purchased a pair and have been wearing them. They are so light and soft, yet give all the support and protection as other named brands hiking or terrain shoes I have had. It feels so different to be in these shoes. They combine the good qualities of the crocs summer style and the warmth and protection of a fall/winter shoe. I like that this shoe is more normal looking than the classic crocs shoes yet retain the unique qualities crocs shoes have. Highly recommended.

  I always thought Crocs were the ugliest things known to man and couldn't figure out why everyone was wearing them. Since I'm 56yrs old I wasn't about to give into the trend. Then, I was on a 3day camping trip with 50+ of my closest friends. My best friend and I had to make a run to the nearest convenience store for ice (and of course beer) when I saw they sold them. (FYI, my friend was wearing those ugly things). So I try on a pair and couldn't believe how comfortable they were. I bought a pair in a nasty shade of yellow (the only choice in my size) and was not only thrilled with their comfort, but discovered they were the best for walking in the river and on the river rocks.
  
  When the sandal came out I just had to have them. Soon I discovered these are not good for walking in the river (they tend to float). BUT... I did vending at a 2day show and wore them the entire time. Not only were my feet still happy, but I didn't have the usual backache from standing so long.
  
  So buy these! You won't be sorry!

  Heading to the Caribbean this Spring and bought these sandals at the mall.
  Just wearing them around my apartment has me so excited! They feel so good, just like my other CROCS. Finally, I feel I can be a happy tourist and never feel the usual exhaustion from sight seeing.

  These sandals are very attractive and very light. Too attractive and too light; if you leave them close to the water's edge as my wife did the first time she wore them. The ocean took a great liking to her sandals, I managed to recover one but the other is now sailing around the Caribbean Sea.

  This is my first pair of Crocs and I was leary about buying shoes without trying them on but I am very happy with my purchase.
  
  I bought a W7 (normally wear a 6 1/2 sandal) and they are a bit big but I'll live with it since they are SO COMFY. I was pleasantly surprised that the bedding in the sandal is very "cushy". They are wider than normal but I have a wide foot so I was ok with this. Color of Army Green and Orange was perfect. I will definitely by another pair of Crocs in the near future.

  I did have to purchase a size smaller than I typically run. It took a day or so to get used to the thong part of the shoe between my toes, but after that, they've been totally comfortable. I am seven months pregnant right now and these shoes support my feet (high arches and all) very comfortably even during walking and daily life. Love 'em.

  I ordered five different colors of the Athens Thong Sandals. I ordered on a Wednesday and received all of the crocs on Friday of the same week. Athens crocs are like wearing house slippers.

  My teenage son borrowed a friend's crocs one weekend and wore them home. I had never seen the croc sandals so I tried them on. I was amazed how good they felt on my feet. Next time I went out for the day I wore them. When I got home I went straight to Amazon.com and ordered us both a pair. It's like getting a message every time you take a step.   I bought these for my husband because he was always wearing mine. We both find our crocs extemely comfortable. My husband had worn knock-offs of these Athens crocs, but as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for". These are far superior in construction and comfort.

  My crocs athens are very comfortable. Even though I have narrow feet, they still fit them well. I thought they might rub really bad at first but it wasn't bad at all. I got a tiny red mark on my right foot and that was it. Usually these kind of sandals make blisters the first time I wear them. I was so happy I didn't have to deal with blisters!! I highly recommend these shoes to others.

  As wonderful and comfortable as all crocs are, the Athens thong is easily the best model this great company has released so far. The heel is much more deeply cushioned/supported and stabilized than in many other crocs, and the sole conforms to the natural contours of human feet (providing just enough lift for spinal alignment like you'd find in Dansko clogs). The Athens could easily be worn in place of a running shoe for all-day walking on almost any type of warm-weather terrain. If fact, it's probably better than a running shoe in terms of both bouncy, supportive comfort and general lightness of weight. Fantastic!!!

  Crocs are one of the most comfortable sandals I own. They run a bit wide, but that's perfect for my c width foot. They are so lightweight, it's like not wearing a shoe at all. I love that they are easy to clean...just wash with a stiff shoe brush and some soapy water and voila-just like new again. I have two pair and so does my daughter. We have lived in these all summer and they wear like iron. With so many color choices, why choose just one!

  These are hands down THE MOST COMFORTABLE flip flop EVER! It feels like you are walking on a cushion of air! They do tend to run a little large. I normally wear a 7 or 7 1/2 but a Crocs Women's size 6 fit perfectly. They clean up very easily and seem to be very durable. I highly recommend them!

  Let me start by saying that regular Crocs are hideous and are a silly fad in the same way that Zubaz were a fad in the late 80s/early 90s. That said, I've always wondered if there was any truth to Crocs being as comfy as people say. I was in the market for some new thong sandals and decided to give these a shot.
  
  WOW. They are ridiculously comfortable sandals. I love them. I had bought a pair of nice leather sandals from banana republic that are hard as a rock, but these are like walking on a cloud. Really nice. They aren't hideous looking, either. Only part I'm not crazy about is the "Crocks" logo being prominently displayed on the top, but besides that there is nothing to complain about.
  
  As for the size, I'm a man who usually wears 10.5 or 11 (depending on the brand). I took the advice of some other reviewers and ordered smaller -- mens 10 (since they only come in whole sizes). They are almost the exact size of my feet. They fit perfectly, but I would prefer if they were just a tad longer. Not a big deal at all though.
  
  Overall I am pleased and have been turned into a Croc believer.
