Call us Hard Rock or Call us Metal...WE ARE DISTURBED By A3KKM0T1KY42HA on 2008-06-03
My review of Disturbed's debut The Sickness labeled them "The New Kings of Metal". I think that there would be more than Ten Thousand Fists in the air in agreement that Disturbed certainly still hold their position in the hierarchy of Metal with the release of this new disk.
What an impressive follow-up Indestructible is to Disturbed's Ten Thousand Fists. Indestructible is a disk of hard rocking, melodic music with terrific vocals by David Draiman that can be understood all the way through. Dan Donegan (guitar) and Mike Wengren (drums) once again work together in a way that keeps every song rocking along with head bobbin, foot stompin precision (this as opposed to music where the drums and bass merely keep time in the background).
There are many bands trying to be hard these days. Disturbed do not have to try. Clearly their music is what comes naturally to them. Indestructible is not the awful manufactured Pop Metal like Nickelback and most recently the American Idol cookie cutter music from the likes of Daughtry and David Cook. Indestructible is straight-up Hard Rock.
In my last review of Disturbed's music I called them Metal and caught a lot of flack from fans of hardcore bands like Lamb of God and Slipknot who said Disturbed isn't Metal. I say Disturbed is Metal. Disturbed sounds a lot more like the pioneers of Metal like Zeppelin, Priest and Maiden than some of the unlistenable Nu Metal and Hardcore Metal that seems to have taken over today.
If fact, Indestructible is Disturbed's first CD where Donegan is fully released from guitar solo prison. Donegan is clearly one of the more talented guitarists on the Hard Rock scene today. But when Nu Metal became popular, it became taboo for a band to include guitar solos, and Hard Rock bands like Disturbed were guitar solo-silenced...much to the chagrin of outspoken critics like the great Zakk Wylde (of Ozzy fame). But fear not, Zakk, because one listen to Indestructible will bring a giant guitar soloist smile to your face.
Indestructible is Heavy Metal in its most grass roots form of the art...vocals that you can follow, harmonies, melody, intensity...a uniqueness to each song where there is no confusion as to whether the track has changed. Indestructible is great, hard rockin' fun.
This disk is an absolute must for your Metal/Hard Rock collection. That's right...I said Metal.
An Incredible Heavy Metal Album And One of Disturbed's Finest By AS4YXIQWSUFOA on 2008-06-03
Released on June 3rd, 2008, Disturbed's latest album is my personal favorite and arguably the best they've ever created. There's a huge difference with the band's chemistry and specifically the progression of their guitar riffs (including some sick solos in Indestructible) into memorable choruses. The following includes my personal ratings of each song, including a brief synopsis of what each song is about. Ultimately, the entire album is fantastic and well-balanced. You can't help but believe (especially after listening through the album in it's entirety, several times) that this is one of the best heavy metal albums ever created.
Indestructible: 9/10: Great lead-off song, definitely the best since Voices. Right from the get-go, you recognize that this is going to be a fast-paced, heavy album. This is a great song to start the album because it kind of pumps you up.
Inside the Fire: 8.6/10: I started to play it out after listening to it too many times, but it's still a great song. It fits especially well in the second slot of the album, because it keeps that past-paced, heavy beat that we saw ini the previous song. In any event, it's a good single (the video's up on their website).
Deceiver:8.4/10: The beginning has such a good riff to it. Once again, this song punches you in the face with heavy, fast riffs and a great solo right in the middle. The chorus is particularly good.
The Night-11/10: Best song on the album, and one of the best songs they've ever made. The riff in the beginning is amazing, and it continues with variations throughout the remainder of the song. And the solo in the middle is just stunning. It's definitely one of my favorite songs ever by them. I can easily see this being a single in the future.
Perfect Insanity:6.9/10: I'm not a big fan of Perfect Insanity, and there are much better songs on the album than this one. They specifically stuck the worst song on the album in between the two best songs (The Night and Haunted). I guess it was chosen as a single because of it's length. It's fast but not particularly memorable.
Haunted:10/10: An extremely dark, heavy song. It's easily the second best song on the album in my eyes, but I can also see why many people believe it's the best. The progression of the song rises until a climactic peak right in the middle. Thereafter, the song crashes down into an aggressive ending. Nice.
Enough-9.8/10: The way he sings the chorus in this song is particularly memorable and fantastic. Great hooks throughout, nice and heavy as well. You can really hear the emotions behind this song in his voice. It's also extremely heavy, but the chorus is incredible because the guitars slow down perfectly with Draiman's voice.
The Curse-7.7/10: It's a good song, no doubt about it. It just wasn't as memorable as other songs throughout the rest of the album.
Torn-9.5/10: The hooks right in the middle are incredible. The second best solo throughout the entire album. Absolutely amazing. It starts off really heavy, but doesn't really get to you until halfway through the song just how good it is.
Criminal:9.3/10: The lyrics and the guitar playing coordinate especially well in this song. Extremely catchy chorus. You can't help but rock out to it.
Divide: 9.4/10: At first, I didn't really like this song. I thought the end was kind of simple ("Divide, Divide, Divide, Divide. Divide, Divide, Break Apart and Divide"). But after listening to it a couple of times, It really began to grow on me and reminded me of their old stuff especially. I especially like the guitar effect they use for the main riff.
Façade: 9/10: A worthy ending to an amazing album. There's a nice change of pace in the song right in the middle. It ends up changing the song and made me gain more appreciation for the song in general.
I originally thought that Believe was alright, but probably the bands low-point as far as I'm concerned. After listening to Ten Thousand Fists, I noticed a startling change with the dynamics of the band, and Indestructible is the next step in their progression and evolution as a maturing and coherent band. That being said, I would consider this my favorite Disturbed album made thus far and certainly one of their best. It's almost as if the band combined the best of what they had to offer in Believe and Ten Thousand Fists and meshed the positives of each album together, leading to Indestructible. It's hard to find any songs that I didn't like on this album; each one is different in their own rights, and worth being listened to. The album as a whole exceeded my expectations, and they were high to begin with.
Overall Rating: 9.7 (Out of 10)
I'm Getting Disturbed again! By AL5RFV0ZQ1IO9 on 2008-06-03
Disturbed has done it again! another great Metal album, I'm into all types of metal and I know that these guys get labeled "Nu-Metal", well I dont care personally ( I listen to all types of Metal and Rock Music ) I love the riffs, power chords, Crunch of the guitars and of course Draimans' powerful vocals!. I've listened to this album 3 times already and it's probably their best yet to date. If you love thier other albums then you "HAVE TO" get this one...Long Live Metal!
Highlights for me are:
Indestructible
The Night
Perfect Insanity
Facade
Not good. By A2GWFIHB1RGX on 2008-06-06
Wow, Disturbed was so promising with their first album. After that, every song sounds the same. Fast tempo, melodic vocals, but where is the screaming? Where is the emotion? Where is the 'fire' we had on The Sickness, The Game, and Stupify? Gone for good I guess.
ooh-ah-ah-ah-ah (actual lyrics from an actual "metal" song) By AJAPHRBAHR45L on 2008-06-09
Don't take this the wrong way Sky, but if "hardcore metal" (which in your view, I'm sure, lumps everything from raw black metal to melodic deathcore to goth rock to grindcore into one basket) isn't "listenable," it's because YOU DON'T LISTEN TO IT. Just because it's a few feet off the beaten path -- e.g., Blooddrunk, KOS, In Sorte, Canto IX, ad infinitum -- doesn't make it "too harsh" "non-musical" "noise"; it means it's not formulaic & doesn't suckoff pop radio shlong. Nor does it make Disturbed "metal": NO double bass, NO blast beats, (time changes?) absurdly overrated guitar "solos," cheesy vocals -- THAT is metal? And touting clean production like it makes or breaks a band. To quote Jacob Bannon -- know who that is? -- "metal is fu¢king dead." That saves Disturbed, since THEY'RE NOT METAL.
- Disturbed's best album
     By A1TW9ZGRDQQZ2Y on 2008-06-19
First off, what awesome cover art!
Ten Thousand Fists was half very good and half decent, but Indestructible is 60% great and 40% good. The vocals are lighting fast at times while also being melodic. The lead singer has a voice that sounds so unique you know it's Disturbed as soon as the first word is spoken. The guitar playing is top notch for this type of band as well. It's not mind blowing (though the Torn solo took me by surprise), but it is nice to hear solos for a change in this day and age. The only downside is that some songs sound similar and there is never a slow song to change the pace of the album.
I'm into classic rock and old school metal, but I would be glad to hear kids listen to this over anything on MTV or rap. Call it nu-metal if you want, at least it has metal in the name.
- well, at least the cover is good!
     By A30RATNJQEOAIU on 2008-06-08
this album is a total let down. only reason im giving it 2 stars is because they can play instruments. so i will give them credit. but as far as the music goes, this album stinks. disturbed used to be filled such emotion that you just wanted to start thrashing around listening to the awesome guitar riffs and wild drums, but now its like theyve become today's "kinder, gentler metal band.almost like theyve been pressured by the recording company and/or someones grandmother to "play something nicer". heck as far as im concerned theyve lost metal status. save your money.
- 10,001 Fists
     By AAHNPLJ1L109Y on 2008-06-13
When I first saw the cover art for Indestructible, I thought it looked suspiciously like the art for the previous album (or like the cover to a single from that album). When I finally heard the Indestructible, I figured out why; it's pretty much the same album as Ten Thousand Fists. The unfortunate thing is that I actually prefer this album to its immediate predecessor,--I think most of the songs are technically better--but the feeling of sameness that accompanies the tunes detracts from them. If Indestructible had been released first, I would have a much higher opinion of it.
Similarly, if Indestructible and Ten Thousand Fists had both been released before Believe, I would hold them in even higher regard. I feel Believe is by far their best album as it shows them much more willing to experiment a bit with their sound. They mixed the heavy with the melodic to greater effect on songs like "Prayer," "Believe" and "Remember," and they didn't even mind throwing in some odd meter here and there. (Catnip for prog nerds like myself.) Given that they've since released two albums that sound exactly the same as each other, I fear they've settled on what they feel to be their definitive sound and that we won't be hearing much innovation from them in the future.
That said, there are definitely some good tracks on here. The first two especially stand out. "Inside the Fire" may be one of their poppiest tracks yet--I keep getting the image of dancing girls performing some nifty synchronized choreography during the chorus--but it lends to its incredible catchiness. I really like the new recording of "Perfect Insanity," which I didn't really care for much in its demo incarnation. Honestly, if you took the standout tracks from this, the standouts from Ten Thousand Fists and combined them with some of the B-sides from the Ten Thousand Fists recording sessions, you'd have an incredibly solid album on the level of The Sickness.
- oh ahahahahah...... metal for apes at best
     By AANOTKJQ89UZB on 2008-06-16
listened to the ape vocals and i too got down with the sickness, luckily
it went away, when i gave away the cd.
maybe this band has evolved like the ape, but i doubt it.
please feel free to retort, ohahahahahah ohahahahah
- The band became very predictable
     By A3FJJP1O7GDMQ2 on 2008-07-08
I have to say that I can't agree with other reviews- I couldn't find that "new sound" and step forward other people found in new Disturbed album. Every single song sounds thesame and for me it is just one of the "I hope it ends soon" album. No offense to the band, which I liked before, but they are just boring with their new CD. It is true that the vocals are deep and powerful and that music sound is fast and heavy, but does every song has to be like a part of the other one. I tried to like that album, but it's like a Metallica St. Anger- you try to find something, a little thing that you enjoy, but that feeling quickly fade away.
- I don't know what to say for this...really
     By AE0ES9IJR84VC on 2008-07-16
I listened to this album and I must tell you this is not metal at all. It's hard rock with some poppy choruses. This is their worst to date. I don't get it, every album has the same vocal arrangements on them. I see he tried to change the vocal arrangements here a little but failed. It reverts back to the same stuff. It's not very creative at all which is a shame because this guy can sing with the best of them. His voice is amazing but if you own one of their albums then you own them all. It's like listening to the same song over and over again. I listen to all types of music (Check all my reviews if you don't believe)and I still don't get this bands appeal. I try to like them but the music is just boring along with the singing arrangements. What passes for good rock these days is really alarming to me. Where is the variety????????????
- Disturbed's new album is, well, another Disturbed album...
     By AZSN1TO0JI87B on 2008-07-02
Let's face it, folks. Disturbed have perfected their craft already. The monkey noises, the wailing choruses, the catchy riffs and even the sprinklings of solos. We get it already. You are Disturbed. And you'd have to be disturbed to think this marks any sort of change for the band, or to think that this even qualifies as their best effort. The band who delivered the funhouse madness that is "The Sickness" and the dark, brooding "Believe" is still here, only their sound resembles that of a McDonald's hamburger. Processed and ready for instant consumption. If you like hamburgers, you'll like this hamburger just fine because it tastes like a hamburger and goes down easy. Likewise, if you enjoyed the other three Disturbed albums (all much, much better efforts) you'll find the meat in this bun rather easy to swallow. Unfortunately, like the afformentioned hamburger, there is little to no substance in it and you, the consumer, are left full, but with a lingering stomach-ache. Disturbed are better than that. They have talent. They know how to write songs. Unfortunately "Indestructible" doesn't show that side of the band. What it shows is a band going through the motions, delivering another album because their label tells them it's time to get back on tour. I honestly can't pad out this review by even going through specific songs because nothing stands out. Quite frankly, it's a Disturbed album. Not a new Disturbed album, just another Disturbed album.
- Want To Like It, But Just Can't...
     By A1QY8E4DAAJ73K on 2008-07-21
The good news....Disturbed have finally come full circle in their music with the release of Indestructible, bringing back many of the elements that made their first CD such a huge success. Disturbed has never been a band that could stand on their own legs without the assistance of production techniques, synthesizers, sound FX, etc., and it seems that they have finally accepted and embraced this.
The bad news...this album wants to be good, but just isn't. The ingredients are there, but they just didn't come together the way they needed to.
There is an underlying cheesiness to the entire concept that ruins the album for me, starting with the cover art, and even the font they used for the band name, which makes it look like "Distubbed". Add to the mix Draiman's ridiculous laugh at the start of "Inside the Fire", Donegan's akward and completely out of place lead work sprinkled liberally throughout, and lyrical content that is anything but poignant and engaging, and you end up with an album that is a chore to listen to.
- For the first time they've disapointed me
     By A1432KCCCZL550 on 2008-06-11
First off if you're a Disturbed fan you'll most likely enjoy this album so don't hesitate to get it, maybe used though.
I really like Disturbed, but I can't say I like this one much. They still haven't written a bad song in my book. very song on here is decent enough on it's own, but as a whole the album gets kind of boring quickly. I like the inclusion of guitar solos in this album. I can't say whether or not they're a step up from 10000 fists or not. I remember enjoying them on that one as well, but it's been a while since I've listened to that one. My main problem with this album is that it sounds like an album of b-sides. There just aren't many songs that grab me. Where's the equivelants of Stupify, Voices, Shout, Sickness, The Game, Prayer, Liberate, Remember, 10000 Fists, Overburdoned, etc? God if we did get an album of b-sides than at least Dehumanized would have been on there. That would easily be one of the better songs if it were on this. Very few of these songs make me feel anything. My other real complaint about this album is that most of the songs seem to move at the same pace. It really gives this album a repedative feeling. This would only be a minor complaint if the songs were better. On a positive note, this is still Disturbed, and they are a pretty consistant band, one of the most consistant bands of the last decade. There isn't a bad song on here, and they didn't sell out and create a pop album like a lot of other bands do. Still a little more growth would be nice.
Indestructible 6/10 This one's ok. I like the siren at
the beginning, but I felt they should have started the album with a faster song to get the blood pumping, but instead we get a mid-tempo rocker, one of many on this disc. The chorus isn't catchy at all.
Inside the fire 7/10 This one is growing on me. This is another mid-tempo rocker, although it moves a little bit more than the last one. The chorus is ok.
Deceiver 6/10 This one is a little faster, but the song itself doesn't do a whole lot for me.
The Night 7/10 This is a pretty good song. Yet another mid-tempo song. It has a faster pre-chorus. I like the solo in this one.
Perfect insanity 7/10 I seem to remember their original demo being faster than this. If that's the case then I wish they had kept that tempo. Still it's a pretty good song. It's still a little faster than the previous songs.
Haunted 5/10 It's ok, but nothing special. This one starts off quieter which could've been a nice change of pace, but it quickly becomes a slightly quicker version of everything else on this album, with a slower chorus. So far this might be my least favorite song on here.
Enough 8/10 Finally a song that makes me feel something. This is another mid-tempo song, but I really like the drum beat in this one. The chorus is also pretty moving. This is easily my second favorite song, but with a little time it might end up being my favorite. I like the bridge as well.
The Curse 6/10 I like the verses in this one, but it's still lacking something.
Torn 5/10 I like the drumming in this one. The chorus is kind of weak. This is one of my least favorites on the cd.
Criminal 9/10 right now this is my favorite song on the album. It's also the first song that did anything for me. This is one of the quicker songs on here. I like the changes they use in this song. It doesn't always keep the same pace. The first part of the first verse is quieter, before everything gets going. Changing things up is a good thing. I like the chorus too.
Divide 6/10 I'm liking this one more every time I hear it. This one starts off pretty fast, but once the verses kick in it becomes a more typical Disturbed song. Fortunately it sounds a little different from the other songs, at least the verses. I like the vocals. There's a decent solo as well.
Facade 7/10 This one starts off quickly and fortunately the verses don't slow down much. The singer sings in kind of a Believe(album) style during the verses. Nice use of keyboards in this one. The chorus is slower, but still fits with the song. I like the solo as well.
Run 6/10 A bonus track, that isn't really anything special. Course for a Disturbed fan, like myself, it's a must own.
Overall if you're a Disturbed fan then You'll find something to like about this album. If you're not a huge fan of the band, I recomend listening to it a couple times before buying it. I may seem overly critical, but that's because I know Disturbed can do better and I also want to try to balance these reviews out a little. It is still a decent cd. I just don't see me listening to it much after owning it for a month. I really hope they keep the guitar solos from now on.
- Boring and Bland
     By A2Q6NTBNHZ3GVZ on 2008-06-11
First off id like to say ive been a disturbed fan since the beginning. I own Sickness, believe, and 10k fists.
this album disappoints. I popped in the cd. i went through each song. over half the songs on the CD start off with the Drums banging and beating, sometimes slow sometimes fast. then the guitars kick in. then the unemotional vocals kick in.
Seriously, if u actually listen to how boring the vocals are, youll be like, WOW, hes just going through the motions. just reading the lyrics off a paper.
Indestructible was ok. i liked the verse, the chorus was boring.
Inside the fire, best song on the cd, hands down. definately best choice for the single.
Deceiver has a catchy chorus, besides that the song is bland.
the night is overall an average song.
perfect insanity has a good guitar solo. other than that the song is useless.
haunted, enough, the curse, torn, and criminal are all the same old stuff. nothing new or original. no innovation.
divide has the potential to be an amazing song. they were going in the right direction when making it, but then the chorus...just really disappointing.
facade is a horrible way to go out. another bland song.
theres 2 bonus songs, Run and Parasite. they are on special edition cds or sumthing.
run is actually an average song. too bad it wasnt on the real album.
parasite sounds like indestructible on the verse, but the chorus is ok.
OVERALL-
bland, unoriginal, boring, no innovation. disturbed is on thier 4th album and hasnt evolved anywhere. this album seriously should be called 'ten thousand fists 2.0'
- Hard, melodic... Just plain awesome actually
     By A1MHP6MVIXHO7M on 2008-06-30
First of all, I'm really getting tired of this fuss about whether they are metal or not. I don't care. I think they are, but it doesn't really matter! Let's talk about the MUSIC:
Disturbed is EASILY at their peak right now, and I highly doubt they will ever top this masterpiece. This IS their best album to date without question. Top to bottom there are no weak links, although on first listen you may disagree. This is an album that will hit you like a truck, but not everything will immediately grab hold of you. It took me about 3-5 listens or so to really get into all the songs. "The Night" is easily their most accomplished and well made song, with odd yet powerful riffs that are far from their norm. "Inside the Fire", "Criminal", and "Facade" are other standout tracks, but they seriously are all great songs-most of which are better than almost all their previous works. The vocals in this album are phenomenal, and play a huge part in the greatness of "Indestructible".
For those who love screaming and non-melodic music, you won't enjoy this. Yes, there are a few signature "Disturbed" yelps, but no screaming. There are catchy melodies, hard melodies, great vocals, great balance of music, and some very adequate drumming to keep most people's ears happy. If you don't believe me, look at this ratings this thing is getting: 4.5 stars outta 5 after 100 reviews. Seems like a winner to me.
- Stinks!
     By A2LSKWYBQV9B9N on 2008-08-14
I know a lot of people had great things to say about the newest album, and I love the their older work, but this new music stinks. This new effort lacks any of the originality and creativity I heard on "The Sickness" CD. You won't hear anything like "Fear" or "Stupify". Your definitely not going to hear anything like "Droppin' Plates". Instead you'll get 12 estrogen filled tracks with David Draiman singing about things like "when you heart gets broken, a thousand times..." Barf. Sounds like their producer is trying to get some more air time by watering down the intensity. The first time I hear criminal I had to start laughing, and "Deceiver" is just plain irritating. The whole album is trash from the title track (Indestructible is WEAK!) all the way through. Save your money and buy the new Slipknot.
- So this is what the lowest common denominator sounds like!
     By A32KPDQ2JT3ANM on 2008-09-26
I guess one should expect this from a mass of listeners who only know of 'metal' though this new (read 10 years) trend called 'nu-metal'. Ugh. Lyrically, vocally, even instrumentally these guys bring nothing, nothing nu (see what I did there?) to the table. There is such a bevy of talent available amongst the varied and wide number of genres out there, why elevate such a mediocre act? Look to bands like Porcupine Tree (although, admittedly, their last album was a tad derivative), RPWL, Symphony X, Amorphis, Amaseffer, Demians, Boom Boom Satellites, etc. for bands in which talent actually counts for something. Disturbed are just a small example of why populist music is becoming so boring, and dare I say it, undisturbed. We need some really radical changes. No more of this Hollywood-script-meeting-lets-gut-the-balls-off-this-for-the-mindless-masses music.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.
- indestructible

I've only had time to listen to 4 songs so far and right now I'm listening to Deceiver. I absolutely love the new sound. I have no idea how Disturbed sounds so unique each record they put out but it's amazing. The guitar riffs and solos, as well as Draiman's voice are OUTSTANDING!!! Every Disturbed fan MUST get this album now!
- Good - NOT GREAT
     By A9R852KAPFUZ2 on 2008-06-04
I'm a huge DISTURBED fan and you can really hear all aspect of their previous albums in this latest release. All the songs hit hard and shows Disturbed as a Metal competitor, but what is missing is that song that rings HELL YES thats AWESOME...EXAMPLE: Sickness had "Stupify & Voices", Believe had "Prayer, Liberate & Awaken", Ten Thousand Fist had "TTF, Forever, Guarded, Stricken"...I was really looking for that album that would dig deep musically and lyrically, but this doesn't quite compare the sheer-raw fusion of the previous...I'm still giving it 4 out 5 regardless...
- It has grown on me
     By A1HIIFLN3G2Z15 on 2008-06-04
This CD shows nothing but new tunes from the vault of the last CD. I personally like to hear something different between albums. They had done this well previously. Maybe it will grow on me.
Update: I guess I spoke too soon! It is growing on me and I jumped the gun on posting my review too soon.
- Color Me Impressed!
     By A2SZPJEA77MJC3 on 2008-06-04
Let me start out by saying that I am not really a fan of any radio or mainstream music in general. Not because I am closed minded at all, but rather the music is generally too simplistic and dumbed down for mass appeal. After growing up a metal fan and sticking with metal bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metal Church etc.. even through the alternative grunge years, I just couldn't simplify myself and accept a lot of these bands after I had heard so much better before. It was also hard to respect any of this music as a guitar player because it was so easy and unchallenging to play.
Eventually metal started slowly coming back again in the underground led by great but unknown bands like Nevermore (who Disturbed rightfully took on their European tour), Iced Earth, Evergrey, Symphony X, Brainstorm, etc... Now even a mainstream act like Disturbed, who started out as nu-metal, have mostly shed all of those aspects and have morphed into a more traditional modernized metal sound with guitar solos and everything! Funny how just a few years ago bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest were mocked and made fun of in the US, yet ironically now being labeled as nu-metal is considered uncool? Ahh we're such a trendy country with little integrity musically aren't we?
Anyway Disturbed is a mainstream act I like, although I can't think of any others (maybe Sevendust as well if you consider them mainstream). With their new effort 'Indestructable' I find myself liking and respecting them even more. I am glad there is actually a good mainstream metal/rock act out there and I do not hate on them like so many 'metal elitists' choose to. This album is a little more complex for Disturbed. It's not as catchy as TTF and actually challenges the listener a little more. Dan's guitar solos have been taken up a notch and most songs have a guitar solo! Good to know corporate radio stations are actually allowing solos now! Hasn't killed anybody yet has it? What's next, is 'Fall Out Boy' actually going to get heavier? Well it might take a few testosterone injections into those boys but you never know?
Bottom line is this is probably Disturbed's best and most METAL album yet! Good job guys! Maybe there is actually a shred of hope for good bands with actual talent to be heard in America. But note (WARNING) to the band: If real metal becomes uncool or not the 'In Thing' again please do not drop soloing and revert back to the trendy sound of the month! You will be respected more in the long run if you keep your integrity rather than chase the trend. Do I need to give any better example than 'Metallica'???
Respect....for now!
- WOW!!!! THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!

I love going to the record store and buying a new Disturbed album. Thank God they don't do sappy ballads. This is their darkest, I have faced a few bad relationships, a few crashes to my car (by other twits) and a lot of other ill things that put my head in a messed up place. The melody is still there in the songs but love the solo work, they've unleashed.
Entire album is strong but my personal faves are:
Inside The Fire, Enough, Divide, Criminal, The Night, and Haunted.
Their best work to date!!!!
How about an international tour Disturbed, Hint: Auckland, New Zealand.
- Mediocre at best

I've been a fan of Disturbed since I first heard the local radio station playing "Stupify." So of course I had to get the album when I heard some of the other tracks. Each album since has gotten better and so when I heard "Indestructible" was coming, I had to get it.
But this album left me wanting more. Perhaps it was my own high expectations given the band's impressive track record. But "Indestructible" has done nothing to impress me, aside from the magic of Dan Donegal on the guitar. Don't get me wrong - it's a good album. It's just not great. And it certainly pales in comparison to their last effort.
If you're a fan of the band, you'll enjoy it. Just don't expect to be blown away. And if you're not, I'd recommend starting with some of their earlier stuff.
- Indestructible? Hmmm

First of all I'm a fan of Disturbed. Alot of people refuse to call Disturbed "Metal" but as a fan of Thrash Music I think alot of people need to relax. However the thing that bothers me about Disturbed is since their awesome debut release, they really havent taken any chances musically and seem to be rehashing the same music over and over again with mixed results. Does this album rock, hell yes...does it cover any new ground...No...I would like to see them lose the technicality a bit and bring back some passion to the music.
- Still letting it grow on me...

I'm still letting "Indestructible" grow on me. It's a very good album, where "Ten Thousand Fists" was an excellent album. I'm going to be a detail-obsessed nitpicker on why:
Song structures are definitely more metal-oriented (verse chorus verse chorus bridge solo chorus end) and the harmonies are power-chord guitar-driven. It probably doesn't help that I picked up "Ten Thousand Fists" at the same time - and I prefer the earlier album's more technical prowess and looser song structures.
The metal feel of "Indestructible" isn't the same as that on "The Sickness". Draiman sings to Donegan's guitar riffs on all four albums, but it just works better on "Ten Thousand Fists" with the more complex melodies. The bass, guitar, synth and drums coalesce much better on "Ten Thousand Fists", at times supporting Draiman's vocals, at times taking their own lead.
On "Indestructible" its more a duet of voice and guitar, with bass and drum support. Think of it this way - listen to thirty seconds in the middle of every song on each album. On "Indestructible" they all sound very similar, while on the previous three albums you can hear distinctive riffs and hooks that really set each song apart from one another.
You won't be disappointed on this album - its great soundtrack for lifting weights or sparring (or blowing things up on C&C3). I just can't listen to it on repeat like the previous three - and that is my ultimate shibboleth.
- Not Rock, not Metal, just a formula that stays the same.......

I am sorry, but after picking this CD up and seeing the really cool and hardcore artwork on the cover, I am left aghast and disapppointed. This CD is boring and brings nothing new to the table. This is basically re-hashed Disturbed songs with no feeling to them. They even took their classic "Oohh ahh ahh ahh ahh" and tried to change it a little in one of the songs. It is lame and I am truly upset. All they did was stick to a formula for a song that they became popular for, and repeated over and over and over again....but like copies of the original, the qualilty fades over time. If you really want to know what a great heavy metal album is like with a VERY similar cover, pick up DIO- Angry Machines.
- A Metal Disaster

This is not the same Disturbed that mastered each album with intense creativity. The album lacks creativity and was obviously thrown together.
By far the worst album ever produced by the Metal masters of the modern ages. In my opinion this album under rates one star.
- The best one yet...

Indestructible is the best album disturbed has EVER put out. The Guitar riffs are absolutely phenominal and the vocals create memoriable melodies that play in your head long after you finish listening to the album, thus making you eager to dive into it all over again. Every song is put together with engineer like precision making it obvious that they spent some serious time on this album. If you are a disturbed fan at any level after you buy this album, your fanhood will be catipulted to a new level....GET IT!!!!
