• I expected a toy...but this thing is great!

  The NP100 gets great reviews, but I never take it too seriously because the reviews always say "For the price...". I bought one because I just wanted something that would project a movie onto my wall. Of course, I'd love to spend three times more and get an awesome projector...but I just don't have that kind of cash. So, I went ahead and bought it. Man! Seriously! The picture is GREAT! I use it for DVD's, XBOX 360, my laptop...and the picture is wonderful. WAY WAY better than I had hoped! The colors are great, it is bright, the lines on the picture are sharp, it's just so good! I'm completely happy with this thing. I mean, somebody may give it a low score because it may not match up to a professional projector, but I give it five stars because I got way more than I thought I would for this price. Trust me, if you are just hoping to get something decent, BUY THIS because you will end up with an awesome projector. I couldn't be happier with this NEC NP100.

  I recently purchased this projector to replace my Dell which had a bad color wheel. I spent a lot of time looking at specs of many different projectors in the $300-$600 price range and I constantly kept coming back to this projector (and/or the NP110). I decided to get the NP100 over the NP110 simply because of price. I really can not say enough good about this projector. The brightness is absolutely amazing for a projector in this price range, the picture is sharp, it's extremely quiet, and it's a breeze to set up. Currently this projector serves as my primary TV and I can't imagine using anything else. If you are looking for a projector for your home I couldn't recommend any other over top of this especially with the bulb rated at 3000-4000 hours. Also, because of its very light weight it would be ideal for a portable projector as well.

  Until retirement, I have been a professional commercial photographer for 43 years and have used digital equipment for some time. I purchased this product for a club I belong to and thought I could get them a good product at a reasonable price. Unfortunalely this did not happen. I was very disapointed in quality and construction of the projector. Some toy manufacturers have better quality then this NEC product. The remote would not work even after installing new batteries and is the only way to control the projector. Had I known this from the information provided on the web site I would have never purchased it in the first place. I replaced it with a View Sonic which we are very happy with. A bit more exopensive but well worth it. Can not recommend this projector to anyone.
