Will Naruto succeed in bringing back the Fifth Hokage and her supreme medical skill to heal the Village Hidden in the Leaves?Contains episodes 93-106.System Requirements:Running Time: 350 minutesFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: ANIMATION/ANIME UPC: 782009238041 Manufacturer No: DNRBS8

The 8th set of the hit ninja-fantasy Naruto spans the end of Season Four (2004) and the start of Season Five (2004-2005). The first episodes conclude the battle between Jiraiya, Lady Tsunada (who will become the Fifth Hokage), and Naruto on one side, and Orochimaru and his henchman Kabuto on the other. The combatants invoke numerous jutsu and summon three animals often linked to supernatural warriors in Japanese folklore: a toad, a snail or slug, and a serpent. This duel between good and evil includes some of the most dynamic fight sequences in the Naruto continuity. A subsequent visit to a hot spring turns into a farce as Jiraiya lives up to his nickname of "Pervy Sage," and Naruto mistakenly tries help a pair of would-be bill collectors. The battle against Orochimaru has left the Hidden Leaf Village short of trained ninja: Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura are sent to protect a runner in a high-stakes race in the Land of Tea without Kakashi-sensei to supervise them. Naruto proves his growing strength and maturity, not through his use of battle techniques or magical jutsu, but by demonstrating his dedication to his friends and to completing his mission. Everyone's favorite ninja-in-training remains a knucklehead, but he's a knucklehead with some admirable qualities. It all adds up to one of the most satisfying installments in this popular series. (Rated T+ Older Teen; suitable for ages 12 and older: violence, toilet humor, grotesque imagery, tobacco and alcohol use) --Charles Solomon MPN: DNRBS8 - UPC: 782009238041

dont listen to the other review, the fact that the show is edited on tv only makes these boxsets more special. these boxsets are uncut, and i would definitly recommend them. but if your new to the show then you should pick up the first uncut box first.

This series is probably my favorite of all times. I started watching it in Japan, and fell in love with this series. The character development is great, and through the entire thing shows how teamwork, determination and believing in yourself can over come all obsticales, yes even the story is great. I believe that the combination of Amazing characters, great morals, and a wonderful story line is amazing for children and adults alike.

  • the start of filler eps

    By A1RCS62OZBY29 on 2008-06-13
I would have given 5 stars but half of the eps on this set are filler eps and not in the menga it would not be so bad if they were good filler but they are bad the last 5 eps are real bad and I could not finnish them.In vol 9 we will be back on track with the menga then in vol 10 or 11 its the start of long filler eps arc for 40 or 50 eps or more because they ran out of stuff in the manga to base the anime on but still wanted to produce a money making show.I will not be buying these filler eps viz should have cut them out of the dvd sets and went to narutos second series which is the continuation of what happens in the manga by viz puting all these filler eps on dvd may kill the anime for alot of people.

  • Tsunade Found One More Box Set For The Big Sasuke Betrayal
    By AFV2584U13XP3 on 2008-06-26
This box set has the episodes where Tsuande has been found and is going to become the fifth Hokage after she does you have most of the episodes of when Naruto,Sakura, and Sasuke get a assignment to protect a runner in a tournament. These episodes were o.k but I felt this was just a filler-up before the episodes when Sasuke betrays everyone for his quest of power. I seen some reviewers say he's not a traitor "COME ON!" the episode of him and Naruto at the valley end where Sasuke tries to kill Naruto by shoving Chidori into his chest was the biggest betrayal anyone could do thats not a friend thats a coward and a scummy traitor if there ever was one. Sorry about that but as you could no doubt tell Sasuke is one of my least favorite characters. The set again doesn't have to many extras just some advertisement for some Naruto games but thats it. Still you can't beat the price so I say get the box set to all Naruto fans...

  • The End of Season Four
    By A15UDUBSTY6BXK on 2008-07-01
This is not your average long-running anime series. Having seen my fair share of anime throughout the years, I must honestly say that this one takes the cake! Despite being hailed as one of the greatest action animes, I have also been pleased to find actual relationships and character development. There are plenty of characters, all of them varied and interesting. You see them age and grow, learning how to be ninja and decent human beings along the way. There are many plot lines: some simple, some complex. And aside from the big chunk of filler episodes later, you will have a hard time being unimpressed or bored with this series.

This boxset has equal parts drama and humor, with a lot of buildup for what is to come. Episode 101 is easily the most amusing thus far, serving up the comic relief after we see the conclusion of Jiraiya and Naruto's mission to find Tsunade. Later, Naruto makes more friends in the Land of Tea episodes, but stirs jealousy in another, setting up a pretty exciting next installment.

    I highly recommend this. Period.

on Lady Tsunade who is in line to become the 5th Hokage, if she can get over her well known losers streak when it comes to gambling and skipping out on her debts. She's one heck of a fighter but has a slight issue with the sight of blood and this in explained and all other things about her dark and storied past. It makes for a great addition to this series along with her and Master Jiraiya's battle with the ever evil and seriously wacked out Orochimaru who's still got an issue or two with a few people.

Its heck of a battle as she fights to save Naruto who's had his own battle with Orochimaru's flunkee Kabuto (talks 2 much for me). Excellent volume and leaves off on a good note for the start of the next volume, well worth your money and minus an episode or two that could've been left out. It's very entertaining as well.

  • A must-have...
    By on 2008-07-15
This boxset is a "Must-have" for all Naruto fans, as it contains the Earth-trembling battle between the three legendary Sannin. It has the perfect balance between storyline construction and action sequences. I highly recommend this boxset and can't wait for #9 to be available!
    Cheers
