  • A must-have for the Wii FIT owner

    By A27P0MW8TE1JQP on 2008-05-22
Like the Wii remotes, the Wii FIT balance board is a battery drinker. I would strongly recommend this rechargable battery pack. The pack connects to the Wii system when not in use, standard charge lasts over 20 hours of play, longer (following future charges). The pack itself fits neatly into the bottom of the balance board, lid and all. The only product negative may be that some other brands may cost slightly less

  • short cord, and will only charge while unit is on!

    By A9QO3LLG2HA79 on 2008-06-03
I purchased this product at the same time I pre-ordered the Wii Fit.
I personally had no problems with the syncing of my board.
I initially used the enclosed batteries to set up the board as the charger needed to well, charge.

My first gripe is this: right on the packaging it states that you can charge while in game play.
Ummm no, the cord is too short!!!!
There is no way you can perform the excerise saftly with a short cord plugged into the Wii's usb, which now would need to be placed on the floor.
A completely ridiculous theory in my opinion, so do not buy it for this feature!
For an example to how short the cord is:
My tv is on a reletively low 2 shelf tv stand.
The Wii sits next to the tv.
I attatched charger to the usb port and to the board, which now has to be stood up.
I cannot even lay the board flat directly in front of the tv.

My second gripe is that it will only charge while the Wii unit is on.
I personally don't like running my unit for all those extra hours unnessasarily, I'm afraid of burning out the motor quite frankly.

I gave is three stars as it does actually charge the unit.

  • Must have for wii fit

    By A1B655VDSWX4OH on 2008-05-23
The wii fit, like the wiimotes comes with starter batteries. but it is pretty much a battery drainer. save your self some money in the long run and invest in this rechargable battery.

i've had the wii fit for a few days now and i spend 45 minutes doing the exercises, and additional time looking thru the menus. so that means i could only use the balance board about 20 times or 20 days before having to replace the batteries.

plus the rechargables are greener, since they dont have to go in a landfill :)

  • A good value but two annoyances

    By A1QWYAWB1DRSQF on 2008-06-04
When I purchased the Wii Fit, I also purchased this pack at the same time.

It's definitely a good value, since the Wii Fit probably drains AA batteries quickly. I've used mine for 9 days with no problems. As long as the battery pack is charged, I can unplug the board and use it as far away as I'd like.

Unfortunately, the USB cord is pretty short and, in addition, the recharge pack covers the Sync button you use to setup the board.

Overall a good value, but those issues are minor annoyances.

  • Definitely worth the money

    By A1LAULBD2E1LC7 on 2008-05-25
I bought mine right away, and I'm glad that I did. Replacing 4 AA batteries at the same time would have gotten old and expensive fast. One downside...you can charge the batteries using a computer or the Wii, but if you use the Wii to charge you can't play while the batteries are charging; save the disposably batteries and use them to play while the battery pack is recharging.

  • Killed both my Wii Fits
    By A47ISYBOMBJQ2 on 2008-06-01
This looks like the ones made by MadCatz. I bought 2 of these at Circuit City and by the next day after using them... both Wii Fits were dead. What are the odds of 2 boards dying at the same time so I could draw no other conclusion than it was the chargers. We had been using our boards for a week before this with no problem.

By the way, in regards to the review below...Assuming this is the MadCatz charger... When the battery pack is on the Wii Fit there is a hole over where the sync button is inside and you stick a small screwdriver or something in there to press the sync button.

  • This Battery Pack is a MUST for Wii Fit, No Copper Tops Required
    By A3QQGPI3CTV9SX on 2008-06-17
Being a Wii Fit owner and user and going through batteries rapidly in the first couple days I saw this product and said I must have it. It isn't expensive when you think of the $100s that would be spent on batteries. The batteries made for digital and games are even more costly than so called regular batteries.

This product is great, a requirement for hours of Wii fit use and simple USB connection for charging. Yes, the chord should be longer, however, just grab via Amazon the USB cable extension (9.8 feet) and you should have no issue with connection due to distance from Wii unit to computer or other USB powered device.

For me all of my Wii, HDTV, sound system, desktop, and laptop are all in close proxsimity living in a NYC apartment.

Simple fixes for the the short chord are as follows:
    1) if you have a laptop and being they are quite mobile, keep it nearby and thus you can connect the charger to the laptop.
    2) Or plug it directly into the Wii console as for me the console is close enough with the chord to do so.
    3) for $4-$6 look for the "Cables To Go" brand of the USB 10Ft extension. Link here - Cables To Go - 26686 - 3M (9.8ft) USB A Male to A Female Extension Cable (White)

I have a few and the are great when you need to have equipment either further apart or guests are there and the extra length is needed etc.

In any case I suggest and recommend this product for all Wii fit owners, well worth the $20 price tag for the 100's saved over time with environment killing batteries.

  • Works Well
    By A14HW1BW5DR1HY on 2008-06-26
The Rechargeable Battery Pack for Wii Fit is a must-have for anyone who does not already have rechargeable batteries. It lasted for a good 15-20 hours per charge. It can charge via usb while you are playing, but the cable isn't really long enough for that. If you don't feel like charging it with the Wii, you can hook it up to any powered USB port. It is kind of difficult to remove from the board, and it's not the easiest to put back on either, but it works and that's all that matters.

  • Be Aware--Voids Warranty!!!
    By A1XQK7F084EBNE on 2008-08-05
I had the same problem as described in other reviews of Communication Lost. Just got off the phone with Nintendo & found out that it caused damage to the B. Board. Even after putting regular batteries in, it still lost commumication. I now have to send it in for repair,& wait approx. 2 wks. to get it back. Warranty is VOIDED for using a product that is not licensed by Nintendo. This also goes for the rechargeable batteries with a charging station for the controllers.

  • Don't make a mistake
    By A1DTQNDGJ4G3HC on 2008-08-12
I bought this in a bundle from a major retailer and had a problem with the fit board only to find out Nintendo says this voids your warrenty. Right now I am having to pay postage and repairs for the item. They did show me in the handbook where it states the use of NON-Wii items voids the warrenty. I think the retailers should back the warrenty as they are selling this in bundles and I don't think everyone would know it was wrong to use it.

  • Recharger needed, but could be better value for the money.
    By A1XI6V4KEKJIRY on 2008-05-28
Obviously, with anything Wii-related that takes batteries a rechargeable power supply is needed unless you own stock in Energizer. But, given the price for this unit, it would have been nice if the MFG had a USB cable that was at least 6ft. (more like 10ft.) instead of the measly 3ft. cable provided. Most people don't put their Wii console on the floor and would like to NOT have to take the battery pack unit out every time to charge it. I think the MFG was just cutting corners because they know that anything Wii-related will sell big for them. As always, the consumer is always the one to pay. I would get a USB extender online since Best Buy and others are high in price.

  • Epic Fail! This product will not power the Wii Balanc board.
    By A3JC9KDNI2LCIZ on 2008-07-03
Guess what doesn't work? This battery replacement.

Having purchased my Wii Fit and charging the cell for 12+ hours from the wii, the unit fails to power the balance board. I think it is due to the design of the power delivery. There are only 2 contacts a + and a -, that reach only 2 of the 4 contact points on the battery compartment of the wii fit. I will consider modifying the device with a strip of metal to ensure the contacts are contacting 4 of 4 points. Will have to update after my little exercise.

  • Rechargeable Battery Pack Unsatisfactory
    By ASK29QW6E5V7C on 2008-07-12
I purchased the rechargable battery pack and have used it for several weeks now. I does not hold a charge. The first time I left it plugged in 24-hours to ensure the batteries would get fully charged. I disconnected the charging plug and started exercising on the wii board. Communication was lost (batteries lost the charge) in less than 10 minutes. Same thing the next three days. Right now, I just keep it plugged in while using the board. This eliminates having to purchase replaceable batteries, but does not work the way the product is supposed to. I'm very disappointed in this product.

  • Needs a longer usb cord
    By A3T3URJ90D9ARZ on 2008-05-27
I love that it is recharged via usb port on the Wii, but it would be even better if the cord included was at least 6 feet so you could have it plugged in while using the board.

  • idiots
    By A1Z6QA9L0TCRWE on 2008-05-29
I bought this when I ordered the wii fit but am very disappointed. THere is a big design flaw with it. When I took my regular batteries out to put in the rechrgeable battery my board was no longer sync'd and you can not resync it with the rechargeable battery because the battery is part of the cover so you can't have access to the sync button with the battery in!!!!!!!!!! So I find this useless!!!!!

  • Thanks For Making The Best Battery Pack
    By A2FTMUTOIDSVS2 on 2008-06-05
This is absolutely the best battery pack I have ever had.
I've been looking all over for a good battery pack for my balance board till I came across this battery pack on Amazon.com I purchased it and it works great. Thank You CTA

  • Works Well.. but...
    By A1D0Z9S5EF71N5 on 2008-06-05
I don't really know why people are actually giving such low scores. I find using this product (rechargeable batteries) actually quite useful. I've charged it only once so far (the very first time when I opened it, as it had suggested to charge before using) and it's lasting for quite a while. I've been using it for two weeks now for leaving it on and playing with it for about an hour each day--it's still going strong! My only negative comment about this is like the others--the charging cord is too short! The first time I charged it, I felt like I couldn't play with it just because it was too close to the TV....

  • battery pack
    By A1XDO40V6592FZ on 2008-06-07
this is great because now you dont have to keep replacing the batteries. the usb connection is wicked cool because there is a usb port on your wii.

  • A Smart Must Have For Hours Of Wii Fit Usage
    By A1IPR8ZM9XNAYD on 2008-06-08
I bought this when I ordered my wii fit , I am glad I did , you cannot enjoy the wii with having to change the battery's all the time , best investment I have done in a long time it gives me a few days of usage on a single charge, great item CTA I will now go check out your other items. you got yourself a long time customer .

  • Good to have
    By A1UAIPVLG8L5XN on 2008-06-21
It is a good thing to have.
Plug it in when wii is not in use, to get a full charge.
Unplug to play with a 100% full battery power.
IF the adaptor cord were longer.... you could leave in while you play... but the cord is to short to be able to do that.

  • A Must for Wii Fit!
    By A1H1RMZBHJIJO on 2008-06-22
If you plan on using your Wii Fit Balance Board often, then you definately need the rechargable battery pack. It recharges off of the Wii unit, so no need to plug it into a wall outlet.

  • Short cord, short life
    By A3IQQUGD9VEFUZ on 2008-06-24
I was excited to receive the battery pack, but after the first two days with it, I'm very disappointed. The instructions state to charge the battery for 12 hours or more before first use, and then full charges thereafter can be obtained in 5-7 hours. I guess it never said how long a full charge would last, but it was dead after about 35 minutes the first day, and 17 minutes the second day. I'm back on alkalines while I look for another battery pack.

  • Wii rechargable battery pack for balance board
    By APXJUF5JS323E on 2008-06-24
This is a good product. I love not having to change the batteries all the time, they get to be expensive. All I have to do is plug it in when I'm not using it and it's always ready.

  • Balance Board Rechargealbe Battery Pack
    By A1RVPR6XNR1H6B on 2008-07-13
    This item is perfect!

I plugged it in the back of my Wii for 22 hours for charging, snapped it into the balance board battery compartment and I was off and running. No problems with power, power cord or having to "jury rig" the batteries to make contact as someone stated they had to do. The board also kept sync so there was no need to resync.

If you own a balance board this is a MUST.

  • WII Fit Rechargeable battery pack = worthless!
    By A22HPH3FQXDOBI on 2008-07-20
I purchased the rehargeable pack when I ordered my Wii Fit board. It worked one time for several hours then the second time it only worked 30 minutes. No when plugged in the green light comes on but there is no power and the Wii Fit will not come on. It is my fault that I let it just sit there past the 30 day return policy. I am not satistied that I can not exchange it because this item is faulty! The downside of ordering online. Next time I'll make the trip to the store where they is better customoer service!

  • Terrible product...not worth the aggravation!!!
    By A229TR4BL4QXAD on 2008-07-21
I thought this would be great to use, instead of using rechargeable batteries and boy was I wrong. I followed the instructions to charge before first use. How can a battery pack charge off of the USB port in the back of the console??....that I wondered! Well, as soon as I was into the rhythm boxing, the 'communication was lost'...ugghhh. This happened A LOT!!! So, I tried using it while plugged in...still didn't register well. My last straw was to charge it by plugging it into the computer, so after 24 hours of charging it 'lost communication' almost instantly. I am now back to regular batteries for now while I recharge some and have shipped back this useless product!!!

  • Worked Once. Now it is useless.
    By A7VDWN4FK5FWU on 2008-08-10
Great Idea. I only wish it worked more than once.
We followed the directions charging it for the required amount of time before it's first use. We got a great first use out of it.
Now it doesn't work at all. It's not worth paying the money to ship the bad one and pay for the return shipping so we just ate the 20 bucks. Now I am going to go get a rechargeable set of AAA batteries.

I have not had time to use this product, yet, but it looks complete and ready to use.

  • It ensures hours of fun with Wii Fit
    By AUHHWPO5J3RN9 on 2008-06-30
We gave this with the gift of the Wii Fit and it arrived in time for the presentation and was appreciated by our son-in-law. It was well packed and arrived in perfect condition.

  • Wii Board Charger
    By A2JA35BXI5G4P2 on 2008-07-05
This Item has helped with not having to spend coastly money on batteries. Not that im knocking rechargable ones but they just dont last as long. And so for that i havnt had to purchase or recharge anything. The Wii Fit is always ready to use and no waiting is involved.
